General use

 Use only as directed. Misuse can be life-threatening The device should only be used by adults. In case of unexpected failure or malfunction, immediately switch off the device.

 Do not allow children to play with the device, it is NOT A TOY. (The charger can wind easily around a child’s neck.) Do not leave the device unattended near children. Do not use the device in the bathroom or in any other humid or wet environment. Do not handle the charger with wet hands. Do not cover the vents on the back of the device while in use.

 Use the device only with the charger supplied by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in fire hazard. The device is intended to be used only for removing nasal mucus from a child’s nose. It shall not be used for any other purposes. Should your baby develop redness of theskin on their nose, please consult your physician, who will advise you about when and how often you should clear your baby’s nose. Keep the device and its accessories out of reach of children. Make sure that all parts are properly attached before using the device. Make sure that the housing and the Penguin head are not damaged or cracked.

 Use the device only with the Penguin head supplied by the manufacturer. The bottom of the device should point downwards while in use. Always switch off the device after use by pushing the power button. Always thoroughly clean and dry the Penguin head after use. Use the brush to clean the nose tip. Read and follow the instructions in the “Important information about the battery” section. Read and follow the instructions in the “Environmental protection remarks” section if you would like to dispose of the device or any part of it.

 Do not insert the nose tip into the baby’s mouth or ears. Do not force or insert the nose tip too far into the nose. Do not press the nose tip against the side of the nostril. Do not use if your child has inflammation or nosebleed. If pain or bleeding occurs, stop using it immediately and consult your doctor. Do not use the device if you see that the Penguin head is damaged. Replace the damaged part. (A list of spare parts can be found in the “Accessories, spare parts” section.) Do not use more than 5 mL of saline solution to dissolve dry and very thick mucus. Excess solution in the Penguin head will exit through the vents on the back of the device. The device should not be used in a clinical or institutional environment. The device is intended for personal use only. Do not attach the Penguin head to other devices. Do not turn the device upside down meanwhile use. Do not use the device without the air mesh. While being charged, the device cannot be used.

Cleaning, Maintenance and Storage

 Protect the charger against damage. Keep the charger away from heat (e.g. furnace, heater or convector) because it can cause damage to the insulation. Switch off the device when assembling,  disassembling and cleaning the Penguinhead.

 Do not kink the charger, do not place heavy items on the cord, to avoid damage. A damaged cord may cause electric shock. Do not remove the mounting screws from the housing. Don’t reconstruct the device for other purposes. It may be life-threatening. When you disassemble the Penguin head for cleaning, do not leave the parts within reach of children. Children may chew or swallow the small parts. Do not wash the housing or the charger with water or any other liquid. Do not handle the charger with wet hands. This may cause electric shock or malfunction.

 Make sure that all parts are dried thoroughly before the next use. Always unplug the charger from the outlet after charging the device.

 The device should be stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight or heat.

Power source

 Use the device only with the charger supplied by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in fire hazard. Keep the device out of reach of children while being charged. Protect the charger against damage. Switch off the device when assembling, disassembling and cleaning the Penguin head. The charger should only be used indoor. Make sure your charger is compatible with your electrical outlet.

 Don’t use the charger if it is cracked or damaged. Do not kink the charger, and do not place heavy items on it, because a damaged cord may cause electric shock.

 If you haven’t used your device for a longer period of time, make sure to charge it before use. Always unplug the charger from the outlet when not in use. If the device has not been used for a longer time, it is worth to keep it in a charged state, recharge it every 3 months to preserve the battery life.

While being charged, the device cannot be used.

Intended use

The Nosiboo Go Nasal Aspirator is intended for removing nasal mucus from a child’s nose. The Penguin head has a patented design that prevents mucus from entering the device.

Intended purpose:

  • to ensure nasal breathing for infants
  • to relieve symptoms of common childhood colds by aspirating nasal mucus
  • to relieve childhood allergy-like symptoms by removing nasal mucus

Do not use the device in the following cases:

  • if the child has hemophilia
  • if the child has frequent nosebleeds due to dilated vessels in the nasal sept
  • if the child is taking blood-thinning medicines
  • in the event of congenital malformations (e.g. cleft palate)

 The device should only be used by adults.

The device is intended to be used only for removing nasal discharge from a child’s nose. It shall not be used for any other purposes.

Before use

Charging the device

a) Attach the charging cable to the connector situated at the back of the device housing

b) Plug the other end of the charger into a 100-240V AC outlet.

Charging is in process if the LED indicator on the charger is red. Charging is complete once the light turns green.

Assembling the Penguin head

a) Clean and dry the parts of the Penguin head.

b) Place the two parts of the Penguin head in the correct position.

c) Push the nose tip into place.

The device is ready for use.

 Make sure your charger is compatible with your electrical outlet. Failure to do so may cause electric shock or fire.

 If you haven’t used your device for a longer period of time, make sure to charge it before use. Clean the parts of the Penguin head before use. Make sure that all parts are dried thoroughly before use.

 Do not start recharging your device right after it has been charged. Do not use the device without the air mesh

Instructions for use

  1. Hold your child in a stable sitting position.
    Sit your child onto your lap, hold them in your arms or sit them into an upright position supporting their back with a pillow. You may also sit them in an infant bouncer or infant seat.

  2. Insert the clean, dry nose tip into the child’s nostril.
    The bottom of the device should point downwards while in use.
    NOTE: Do not pinch or block the other nostril while using the nasal aspirator.

  3. Turn on the device with the power button.
    NOTE: Any time you are not actively using the device, switch it off.
    NOTE: The device turns itself off automatically after 10 minutes of continuous use, but it can be restarted depending on the charge level of the battery.

  4. Move the device around gently to make sure that you reach all areas of the nostril.

    NOTE: To avoid unsafe use, do not use more than 5 ml of saline solution at a time. The Penguin head can hold up to this amount of liquid safely and prevent mucus from entering the device housing.

  5. Switch off the device after use with the power button.
    NOTE: Always switch off the device after use.

TIP: The Nosiboo Go Nasal Aspirator can be used several times a day. Your general aim should be to make sure that your child can breathe peacefully. It is recommended that you clear the child’s airways after waking up, before bed time and feeding.

NOTE: Nose drops and other preparations should be used as directed by your healthcare professional

 The device should only be used by adults.

Cleaning

  1. Remove the Penguin head from the device housing, remove the nose tip, then open the Penguin housing. Use the brush to clean the nose tip.

  2. Wash the nose tip, and the Penguin housing in lukewarm water and dishwashing detergent and let them dry.

  3. Use the brush to clean the nose tip.

  4. Clean the device housing with a dry, soft cloth; do not use any liquids, detergents or chemicals.

Storage and maintenance

Storage

  1. Store the device possibly in a way that the power button is not pressed to any object, in order to prevent the device from turning itself on.
  2. Keep the device in an enclosed space where it is protected from dust and damage (e.g. in a cabinet).
    NOTE: Do not store near a heat source. Do not leave in a vehicle as it can get overheated.
    NOTE: The recommended storage temperature for the battery of the device is between 50-86 F. A drop of performance can occur in case of inappropriate storage conditions.
    NOTE: It is recommended to turn on and charge the device every 3 months to preserve battery performance.

Maintenance

There is a special air mesh below the Penguin head which prevents solid objects and dust from entering the housing. In the event of a drop in performance, it is re-commended that you check the air mesh. If it is dirty or clogged, replace it with a spare air mesh.  After cleaning, do not leave the parts of the disassembled Penguin head within the reach of children. Don’t use a damaged charger, it may cause electric shock. Do not place heavy items on the charger’s cable, because a damaged cable may result in fire hazard.

Troubleshooting guide

Malfunction The device cannot be switched on.

Reason The device is not charged.

Recommendation Connect the charger to the device, then to a 100–240 V wall socket.

Malfunction The suction intensity is decreased.

Reason The Penguin head is blocked or was incorrectly assembled.

Recommendation Take the Penguin head apart and clean it. After drying the parts of the Penguin head, assemble them according to the user manual.

Important information about the battery

The Nosiboo Go devices work with Lithium-Polymer (7.4 V, 1500 mA) batteries. The battery can be replaced exclusively by a specialist service. It is recommended to turn on and charge the device every 3 months to preserve battery performance. After use, or if the device’s battery just ran low, wait a few minutes until the device cools down and then start charging it. The battery’s 12-month warranty applies only to manufacturing defects, it does not apply to capacity loss.

 Environmental protection remarks

When disposal of the device is necessary, do not throw it in the normal household waste, as electronic products qualify as hazardous waste. This is indicated on the packaging by the following symbol: The Penguin head does not present a serious risk to the environment and can be disposed of as household waste.

Malfunction management guide

The warranty for the device is valid for 24 months, and for the battery it is valid for 12 months after the purchase date. It will be only validated if the device was used according to its intended purpose and does not bear signs of damage. The battery’s 12-month warranty applies only to manufacturing defects, it does not apply to capacity loss.
In the next step the existence of malfunctioning has to be clarified, whether the malfunction occurred due to the user’s own fault or if it was no fault of theirs. The following checks can be conducted by any user at home or with the distributing merchant or their trustee after presenting the filled in warranty card or the invoice. The distributor or the legal entity charged with failure assessment is obliged to fill in the warranty card supplied with the User manual or provide their  own warranty document, record the steps of troubleshootingin detail and forward it to the manufacturer within 24 hours.

What is covered?

The warranty is only valid if the device was used according to its intended purpose and does not bear signs of damage detailed in the “What is not covered” section. The warranty covers malfunctions that are caused by manufacturing defects (problems that were present at the time the device was sold).

You experience “unusual” issues while operating the device, e.g. the device buzzes or clacks unusually loudly, shakes, or does not turn off after 10 minutes.

Is the warranty valid?
If you experience “unusual” issues while operating the device and the device does not bear traces of physical damage included in “What is not covered,” the customer’s device is covered by this warranty.

What is not covered?

The device is meant for personal use only. Problems that are caused by overuse, abuse, misuse, inappropriate storage conditions are not covered. Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Furthermore, random and collateral damages and the battery’s capacity loss are also not covered by the warranty either.

If the power button on the device is broken, stuck,loose or has fallen off, it indicates external impact; therefore, it is not considered to be covered by the warranty. Turning on and operating the device is life-threatening!

Warranty tasks

The distributor of the Nosiboo Go device is obliged to promptly handle customer complaints based on the aspects included in the chapters Troubleshooting guide and Malfunction management guide of the User manual. In case the conditions of warranty apply, the device should be promptly repaired or replaced. The distributor of the device is obliged to keep a written record about the troubleshooting. This can be done within the framework of the distributor’s internal documentations or in the warranty card supplied with the User manual. It has to contain the detected malfunction, the date and the unique serial number to be found on the label on the bottom of the device.

International warranty certificate

Nosiboo Go is a hygienic medical device. You may exercise your right of withdrawal only if the foil packaging of nose tip is intact! Due to hygienic reasons, we do not replace the device if the packaging has been opened.
