Could someone who can only use one hand to grip use this?

He does require a brace to aid in holding his eating silverware.

Can you pick up someone who has fallen from the floor? fallen

The lift was ordered by me two weeks ago, but I have not yet received it. It was supposed to be sent to me in Metairie, Louisiana 70005.

Would this be useful for kayak exits?

The grips are good, and it is solid. It assists me in assisting my 95-year-old mother, who weighs 153 pounds, to rise up from the couch. Since you are coming out of a smaller hole and are not in front of the person, I’m not sure if trying to lift them out of a kayak would be successful. It could work. If their hold is firm, it will likely be quite durable.

Can someone help me get up off the floor with this because my legs are bad?

This is dependent on your joints, the strength of your legs and back, your balance, and the assistance you receive off the ground. If my wife needed help getting up off the floor, I wouldn’t feel confident doing it and would probably phone 911 instead, thereby wasting a valuable resource. For raising from a “on-the-floor” position, I wouldn’t rely on this. If nothing else, it’s great for moving between seats (ie. chair to standing, lying in bed to sitting, etc.). I initially thought the TV advertisement was a gimmick, but I’m glad we bought it now. It provides leverage for the carer, However, take care not to drag someone up against you, since this could cause you to stumble. I’m happy I purchased it.

Can you use this after rotator cuff and shoulder replacement surgery?

I’ve used Liberty Lift to assist my disabled husband in rising from the bed. It was quite beneficial. After shoulder and rotator cuff surgery, I can’t imagine using it anytime soon, but I believe this is a question best left to your doctor.

Would this assist in removing someone from a bathtub?

The 15″ Liberty Lift Standing Aid COULD assist in lifting someone out of a bathtub, but the individual would need to find a way to turn sideways and brace their feet on the inside of the tub so that someone standing OUTSIDE the tub could pull them up. Hard to say if that would be successful.

Will this allow someone lying in bed to turn from their back to their side?

If someone else is available to be on the opposite side of the lift, then that would work in that situation (someone needs to pull). NO, it wouldn’t function if the person on the bed is alone. In that situation, a bedside railing of some kind would be useful. They sell “L”-shaped rails that slide under the mattress to support the railing. Everything depends on the disabled person’s capacity.

How is this different from pulling up by grabbing each other’s elbows?

Holding on to each other’s elbows, I believe your hold might become shaky. This technology is effective. With this, I can easily lift my spouse, who weighs 160 pounds, who is 122 pounds.
