SAFETY INFORMATION

  6. CLEANING – Prior to cleaning, please disconnect this product from your power outlet. Do not use liquid cleaning agents or cleaning agents in sprays. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.

  7. VENTILATION – Openings and holes in the unit’s cabinet are designed for ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the product and its protection from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. These openings must never be blocked by placing the product on bed, sofa, rug or other similar surface. Do not place this product in an enclosed space, such as a bookcase or rack, unless required by the manufacturer’s instructions or proper ventilation is provided.

  8. ACCESSORIES – Use only manufacturer recommended accessories.

  9. ENERGY SOURCES – Use only the power source specified on the type plate to power this product. If you are in doubt about the type of the power sources in your home, contact your vendor or the local energy company. For products that use the built-in battery power, please follow the instructions in the user’s manual.

  10. IF THE DEVICE IS TO BE LEFT UNUSED – If you plan to leave your device unused for a prolonged period of long time, unplug the product’s power cord and turn the power switch OFF.

  16. Where the plug of the socket adapter is used to disconnect from the power supply, this disconnecting device must remain easily accessible.

INITIAL POWERING ON, CONTROL, POWER

Turning on the radio

Connect the power adapter to the DC 5V micro-USB input on the back of the device.

  • Slide the power switch to “ON”, then press STANDBY.
  • The display lights up and the unit turns on.

Turning the unit on from the STANDBY MODE:

  • Press the STANDBY button. The clock will be running even when the unit is connected to the mains.

Caution:

When the ON / OFF switch on the back of the unit is fully turned off, the set time and date will be reset.

Power supply connection

This radio/player can be powered from the mains or from a rechargeable battery.
Battery life (approximate number of hours) is 4-6 hours depending on the volume level.

Caution : Danger of product damage! Make sure that the power supply voltage corresponds to value indicated on the back or bottom of the product.

  • Danger of electric shock! When unplugging the AC adapter, always hold the plug. Never pull on the power cord.
  • Use only the AC adapter specified by the manufacturer or sold with this unit.

Battery power supply

Charging the battery.

  • Slide the switch to the “OFF” position.
  • Connect the AC adapter (supplied or sold separately) to the DC 5V microUSB socket on the back of the unit and then to an AC outlet.
  • Slide the Power on/off switch in the “ON” position.

The display lights up and the battery charge indicator appears on the display.

Note : The clock will stop when the unit is powered from the battery.
The battery power indication appears on the LCD screen.

POWER SAVING MODE / ERP2 REGULATION
To save energy, this unit is equipped with an AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN / STANDBY (STANDBY) SWITCHING SYSTEM.
This system is implemented to meet the EU standard requirements and DOES NOT MEAN A FAULT.

Language settings

The language setting is changed in DAB or FM mode. Press the MENU button and then press the TUNE + / TUNE – button (menu navigation) to select the LANGUAGE item using the SELECT button. Use the TUNE +/ TUNE – buttons to select the desired language, then press SELECT to confirm.

Volume setting

To adjust the volume using the front panel controls:
Turn the VOLUME control to increase or decrease the volume level. Turn the knob to the left to decrease the volume and turn the knob to the right to increase the volume. Before changing the signal source, such as switching from FM to DAB mode, we recommend to turn down the volume and then turning up as needed.

Adjusting the clock

SET TIME/DATE: This option allows you to set the clock manually if DAB + broadcasting is not available.

Setting time and date manually:

  1. In the DAB or FM mode, press MENU to open the DAB+/FM menu.

  2. Press TUNE +/- to browse the menu options:
    [Main menu] ⇒ SYSTEM [Auto update]

  3. Set the Clock setup to Manual (Radio is the default).

  4. To select an option, press SELECT.

  5. If another nested option is available under the option, repeat steps 2 through 4.

Backlighting

Adjusting the backlight only works on AC power.

In the standby mode, press and hold MENU for 1-2 seconds, then press TUNE +/- to adjust the backlight level (in the range of 0-10)

DAB+/FM ANTENNA

Before using your radio to receive DAB + or FM broadcasts, fully extend the telescopic antenna located on the back of the unit and ensure the best possible conditions for FM / DAB signal reception. You may need to adjust the position of the telescopic antenna to ensure maximum signal strength. When using your radio for the first time, the unit performs a complete DAB station search.

Listening to DAB+ radio

Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) is a type of digital radio broadcast through a network of transmitters. It offers more options, better sound quality and more information.

  1. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select DAB radio.
    A [Scanning…..] message will be shown. (Scanning…).

  2. Press the SCAN button to start the full scan.
    The unit automatically stores all DAB + radio stations, then tunes in the broadcast of the first available station.

  3. The station list will be stored in the radio. The next time the unit is switched on, the stations are no longer scanned.

  4. If no DAB + station is found, [Not available] or [No Signal] will appear on the display.

To tune to a DAB + station from the list of available stations:

– In the DAB mode, press the TUNE +/- button to browse through the available DAB+ stations.

Storing DAB+ radio stations automatically

Note : New stations and services may be added to DAB + broadcasts. To make these new DAB + stations and services available, perform a complete scan on a regular basis.

– In DAB + mode, press the SCAN button, and the device will search for and store all available DAB + radio stations.

Selecting a preset DAB+ radio station

– In DAB mode, select any preset number and press PRESET.
Press TUNE +/- repeatedly, then press SELECT to select a preset station.

Storing DAB+ radio stations manually

Note : You can store up to 30 radio DAB+ stations.

  1. Tune in a DAB+ radio station.
  2. Hold down PRESET for 2 seconds, then press TUNE + / to select a preset number. P1 will appear briefly on the display.
  3. Press SELECT to confirm.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to store more DAB + stations.

Showing DAB+ information

During DAB + radio broadcasts, press the INFO button repeatedly to scroll through the following information (if available):

  • Station name
  • Channel and frequency
  • Sound data stream
  • Signal strength
  • Time/date
  • Scrolling text (DLS)
  • Program type (Prg Type)

Using DAB+ menu

  1. In the DAB mode, press MENU to open the DAB+ menu

  2. Press TUNE +/- to browse the menu options:
    – [Full scan]: Scan all available DAB + radio stations
    – [Manual tune]: manually tune to a specific channel/frequency and add it to the station list.
    – [DRC]: Add or remove a level of compensation for differences in dynamic range between radio stations.
    *– [Language]: English/Čeština/Polski/Magyar**
    – [Main menu]

  3. To select an option, press SELECT.

  4. If another nested option is available under the option, repeat steps 2 through -3.

Main menu

  • [12/24 hour] Sets the clock time format
  • [Auto update] Sets the time to synchronize by radio or manually
  • [Clock Setup] Sets the time and date
  • [Factory Reset] Resets all settings to the factory default values
  • [SW version] Radio software version

Note : If you do not press any button within 15 seconds, the menu will disappear. This is not a malfunction.

Listening to FM radio

  1. Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select FM radio.
  2. Press the SCAN button to start the automatic scan or Press TUNE +/- to tune in a radio station.
  3. Hold down TUNE +/- for 2 seconds to tune to the next strongest radio station.

Mono / Auto (Stereo) mode

Press ST.MO to select the MONO or AUTO sound mode.

Storing FM RADIO radio stations manually.

  1. Tune in a FM radio station.
  2. Hold down the PRESET button for 2 seconds to activate the programming mode.
  3. The display briefly shows P1; then press TUNE +/- repeatedly to select a preset number.
  4. Press SELECT to confirm.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 to store more FM stations.

Selecting a preset FM radio station

  • In FM mode, select any preset number and press PRESET.
  • Press TUNE +/- repeatedly, then press SELECT to select a preset station.

Using FM menu

  1. In the FM mode, press MENU to open the FM menu.

  2. Press TUNE +/- to browse the menu options:
    [Scan setting] ♦[All stations]: searching all available radio stations.
    ♦[Strong only]: searching only stations with a strong signal.
    [Audio setting] ♦[Stereo enabled]: searching radio stations broadcasting a stereo signal. (Default)
    ♦[Forced mono]: searching for radio stations that only transmit a mono signal.
    *[Language]: English/Čeština/Polski/Magyar**
    [Main menu]

  3. To select an option, press SELECT.

  4. If another nested option is available under the option, repeat steps 2 through -3.

Showing RDS information

RDS (Radio Data System) is a service that allows FM stations to display supplementary information.

  1. Tune in a RDS station.
  2. Press the INFO button repeatedly to scroll through the following information (if available):
    [Program Type] [Radio text] [Signal strength] [Date/Time] [Frequency] [Stereo/Mono] This option allows you to set the radio to receive FM stations in Auto (Mono/Stereo) mode or Mono only.

Factory Reset: This option resets all settings to factory defaults. The clock, station list and stored station preset settings will be cleared. After resetting to the factory settings, the radio automatically scans the DAB + band again.

AUX IN (External input)

Connect your external device to the 3.5mm AUX IN socket on the back of the device. An external device can be an MP3 player, CD walkman, personal computer, etc.

Notice : Before connecting your device to the SRD 7800 radio, ensure that the output signal from your device is at its minimum level (minimum output volume). This will prevent the radio from damage.

Automatic shut-off function

In the DAB/FM/AUX mode, press SLEEP repeatedly to select the sleep time.
The sequence is OFF > 15 > 30 > 45 > 60 > 90min.
Then press the SELECT button to confirm the auto power off time – the remaining time until the auto power off will appear on the LCD display. The radio player stops playback after the selected time has elapsed.

PLAYBACK FROM A BLUETOOTH SUPPORTED DEVICES

  • The effective operating range of the unit device for pairing devices is approximately 8-10 meters (in open space).
  • Any obstacles between the system and the device may reduce the operating range.
  • The compatibility with all Bluetooth devices is not guaranteed.
  • This system automatically has Bluetooth pairing mode enabled.
  1. Press the FUNCTION button to select the BLUETOOTH source. [PAIRING] (Searching) message starts flashing.

  2. Enable Bluetooth on your Bluetooth device and search for Bluetooth devices to be paired (see the device user’s guide).

  3. When [SRD 7800] is displayed on your device, select this option to start pairing and connection.
    After successful pairing and connection, the message [Connected] is displayed.

  4. Start audio playback on your device. Audio is streamed from your device to the SRD 7800 radio.

  5. Press TUNE + to select tracks.

  6. Press to launch the PAUSE/PLAYBACK function.

Bluetooth disconnection is performed using the deactivation function on your portable device.

Warranty conditions

Warranty card is not a part of the device packaging.

This product is warranted for the period of 24 months from the date of purchase to the end-user. Warranty is limited to the following conditions. Warranty is referred only to the customer goods using for common domestic use. The claim for service can be applied either at dealer’s shop where the product was bought, or at below mentioned authorized service shops. The end-user is obligated to set up a claim immediately when the defects appeared but only till the end of warranty period. The end user is obligated to cooperate to certify the claiming defects. Only completed and clean (according to hygienic standards) product will be accepted. In case of eligible warranty claim the warranty period will be prolonged by the period from the date of claim application till the date of taking over the product by end-user, or the date the end-user is obligated to take it over. To obtain the service under this warranty, end-user is obligated to certify his claim with duly completed following documents: receipt, certificate of warranty, certificate of installation.

This warranty is void especially if apply as follows:

  • Defects which were put on sale.
  • Wear-out or damage caused by common use.
