Safety instructions

  • The product is intended for private, noncommercial use only.
  • Use the product only for the intended purpose.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.
  • The product is intended only for use inside buildings.
  • Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
  • As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
  • Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not open the product or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.

  • Route all cables so there is no risk of tripping.

  • Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.

  • Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.

Warning – Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polarity contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not burn batteries.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
  • Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them without delay.
  • Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).

Warning – Danger of damage to hearing from alarm sound

  • Loud volumes can damage hearing – even over short periods.
  • Be aware that the high sound pressure of the signal sound emitted in the event of an alarm or test can lead to hearing damage in the short term.
  • You should therefore not remain in the immediate vicinity of the alarm signal emitter for more than 3 minutes in the event of an alarm or test.

Download the app

  • Download the Hama Smart Home (Solution) app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Open the Hama Smart Home (Solution) app.
  • The first time you use the app, you need to register and create a new account. If you already have an account, log in with your access details.
  • Follow the instructions in the app.

Installation

Warning – installation with adhesive

  • All parts are suitable only for use indoors. Do not install outdoors.
  • Be aware that the intended mounting surface must be free from dust and grease. Use a suitable cleaner from a specialist retailer for this.
  • Be aware that the adhesive pads are intended to be permanent. Carefully pull the adhesive pad off the mounting surface to remove it.
  • Various environmental influences, such as moisture in the air, sunlight, cold, etc., can impair the long-term stickiness of the adhesive pads.
  • Possible residue on the mounting surface after removal of the adhesive pads cannot be ruled out!

Warning – Installation

  • Before mounting, check that the wall you have chosen is suitable for the weight to be mounted. Also make sure that there are no electric, water, gas or other lines running through the wall at the mounting site.
  • Do not mount the product above locations where persons might sit or stand.
  • Buy special or suitable installation material from a specialist dealer for wall-mounting.
  • Never apply force during assembly.
  • If in doubt, have this product installed by a qualified technician – do not attempt to install it yourself.
  • The low weight of the product means that a screw with a plug or a nail is all that is needed to attach it at the required installation point.
  • Depending on the design of the installation point (e.g. wood), you can also attach the product directly onto a screw or nail, for example, without pre-drilled holes.
  • Ensure before hanging the siren up that the screw or nail is securely fixed.

Commissioning

The siren can be used both in battery and mains operation.

6.1 Battery operation

  • Turn the cover on the back of the siren clockwise to open the battery compartment.
  • Remove the spent batteries and dispose of them if required. Now insert two CR123A batteries (not included). Take care to ensure the correct polarity as shown in the diagrams in the battery compartment.
  • Replace the cover on the back of the sensor and turn it this time anticlockwise until it locks into place.
  • The LED on the motion detector now flashes quickly.
  • If the LED does not flash quickly, remove the cover from the back and hold the pairing button for around 5 seconds.

6.2 Mains operation
Warning

When supplying power via the micro-USB port, there must no batteries in the siren.

  • For operation via USB, connect the supplied micro-USB cable with the micro-USB socket and a suitable USB power supply unit (not included in the scope of delivery).
  • Connect the power supply unit to a properly installed socket.
  • Only operate the product from a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.

6.3 Integrating devices into the Hama Smart Home (Solution) app

  • Press and hold the pairing button for around 5 seconds. The LED starts to flash red quickly. If it flashes slowly, press and holds the button again for approx. 5 seconds.
  • Open the app and sign in.
  • Press the “+ in the top right-hand corner to add a new device.

  • Choose Sirens from the list.
  • Next, enter your WiFi password and confirm with “NEXT”.
  • Now confirm that the siren is flashing quickly by ticking “Next step” and clicking “Next”.
  • Your siren is now connected.

  • Once the connection is successful, the LED stops flashing quickly and the app confirms that your siren is connected. You can now assign it a different name if you wish.

  • Click Finish to end the process.
  • You can now attach the siren and configure it.

Alarm management options:
when the settings are activated, you will receive a push notification as information on your smartphone.
For extended usage options, scenarios can be created in the app.

Scenarios and automated sequences that can be created in the app allow various combination options and usage options for these products, depending on the SmartHome products in your home. Programming is always via the app (see Section 4 of the App Guide) and will be offered/suggested to you on an individual basis.

Product characteristics
The siren can be used for monitoring (push message to the smartphone when triggered) or for controlling other smart products (e.g. lamps).

Care and maintenance

Note Disconnect the product from the mains before cleaning and during prolonged periods of non-use.

  • Only clean this product using a lint-free, slightly damp cloth, and do not use any harsh cleaners.
  •  Ensure that no water is able to enter the product.
