The R&D team integrates artificial intelligence, hardware and software technologies, so that the robot has full facial expressions, body movements and communication & interaction capabilities. Also, the team uses voice interaction and body sensor technology to vividly present a variety of educational functions and other services.

Robots enable digital content to jump out of the screen and enter the real world. Using Kebbi for the First Time

Be sure there is enough space for your ro bot to safely move around. Connect the charger and turn the pawer on.

Hold for three seconds.

First:
Prepare a safe place for Kebbi and connect the charger.

Login / register NUWA account and eye account or enter product key (For business customer only) to activate the robot.

Open the Menu

*eye Menu / Pet Screen / Function Menu**
You may swipe left and right on the screen to switch between the eye Menu, Pet Screen and Function Menu.
Opening Menu

*eye Menu:**
Enjoy the diversified services of eye, which offer a series of educational materials, entertaiment and lifestyle information.

Pet Screen:
This is the start- up default mode. You can have a conversation with the robat on the Pet Screen. Click “Home Button” or swipe to the right from the Function Menu to return to the Pet Screen.

Functon Menu:
You can browse all the built-in APPs of the robot in the Function Menu, including Sing and Dance and Creative Learning . You can also explore the various functions of the robot and delete / manage them.

Shortcut and Notification Panel

Slide down from the top edge of the screen to open the Shortcut and Notification Panel. There are three main areas: Function Shortcut, Screen Brightness / Volume Control, and Notification Area.
Notification Panel

  1. Function Shortcut:
    Shortcuts in this area enable you to quickly set up your robot. You may click the editing button on the bottom to change the seque nce; or to display or cancel the shortcuts.

  2. Screen Brightness / Volume Control:
    Drag the control bar to adjust the screen brightness or volume.

  3. Notification Area:
    Display the system status, system notification, or messages from different applications of the robot.
    * OnIy applicable to custmers of HKT eye.

Common control instructions

You can adjust the following robot functio ns in the “Function Shortcut” or “Settings” according to the situation:

Action Effects
Quick Press Press the Home Button on the Pet Screen quickly to turn off the

screen and have Kebbi enter Sleep Mode.
Press the Home Button in any application to return to the Home Page (Pet Screen).
Press and Hold| Press and Hold the Home Button for three seconds to access the following power options: Do-Not-Disturb Mode; Restart; or Power Off.
When the robot is shut down, press and hold the Power Button on Kebbi’s head for three seconds to turn on the system.

On/Off Instructions

Turning On the System

  1. Press and Hold the Home Button for three seconds to activate the system and display the startup screen.
  2. When the Pet Screen appears, the robot has been successfully activated.

Restart

  1. Under the System Startup Men u, press and hold the Home Button for three seconds to access the power options (as shown in picture on the right).
  2. Select “Restart” and all the Apps in Kebbi wilI restart automatically.
    On/Off Instructions

Turning Off the System

  1. Under System Startup, press and hold the Home Button for three seconds to access the power options.
  2. Select “Turn Off”.

Update Instructions

  1. The robot will automatically check for updates while connected to the internet and will prompt you when a new update is available.
  2. You can also enter “Settings” and select, “Check Update Manually” to manually check for any newly released updates.
    We will continue to optimize the functions and content of the robot, so we strongIy recommend staying up-to-date with the latest system upgrades.

Robot Connection Name

The robot connection name appears when you are connecting to the robot using the mobile APP or related webpage. The defau It name is: The robot’s product name + last three digits of the serial number. You may edit the Robot Connection Name in “Settings”→”About Robot”→”Robot’s Name” so that you will recognize your robot faster in the future.
*Editing this name will not cause any change on the awakening words or the name the robot uses to refer to you.

Introduction to Power Modes

Sleep Mode (Standby) – When the robot is in Sleep Mode, the screen is off. Kebbi will still respond when called.

Enter Sleep Mode:

  • Press the Home Button on the Pet Screen to enter Sleep Mode and the robot will fall asleep.
  • The robot will automatically enter Sleep Mode after 5 minutes in Standby Mode.

End Sleep Mode:

  • Press the Home Button once to end the Sleep Mode and open the Pet Screen.
  • Say, “Hello Kebbi” to wake the robot, ending Sleep Mode.

Do-Not-Disturb Mode – When the robot is in Do-Not-Disturb Mode, speaking to Kebbi will not awake it. The only way to wake the robot from this mode is by pressing the Home Button.

Enter Do-Not-Disturb Mode:

  • Press and hold the Home Screen button for 3 seconds Click “Do-Not-Disturb Mode” under Power Options.

End Do-Not-Disturb Mode:

  • Press the Home Button to open the Pet Screen.

Motion Lock – The Motion Lock will turn off the motor on the bottom of the robot, preventing the robot from moving.

Turning the Motion Lock On/Off:

  •  When the robot is awaken, you can set the motion options to: On (Unlocked) or Off (Locked).
  • From the Notification Panel Click the “Motion” button. When the button is green, motion is unlocked, and the robot can move. When the button is white, motion is locked.
    *When the robot is plugged in and charging, the system will automatically lock the motion setting to prevent the robot from moving and pulling its power cord. Do not attempt to unlock the motion setting while your robot is charging. Once the robot is unplugged, motion will automatically be unlocked.

Action Lock – The Action Lock will turn off the motor controlling the robot’s head and arms. The indicator lights on the robot’s face and arms will turn dark blue when in this mode.
Turning the Action Lock On/Off:

  • When the robot is awaken, you can set the Action options of the robot to: On (Unlock Action) or Off (Lock Action)
  • From the Notification Panel , Click the “Action” button. When the button is green, Action is unlocked and the robot’s face and arms can move. When the button is white, Action is locked and the face and arms will not move.

Start a Conversation with the Robot

Starting Conversation

Step 1: Wake the Robot

If you want to give commands to your robot, you need to get its attention first. Use one of the following methods to wake your robot.

Method A – Vocal Awakening
Say, “Hello Kebbi” while standing 1-3 meters away and the robot will reply, “Hi”.

Method B – Touch Awakening
Gently touch the symbol on the robot’s belly r IIIII J to awake it and it will reply, “Yes”.

Note: The voice recognition function will be hindered under noisy suroundings.

Step 2: Command the robot when the yellow fight is on

When the robot’s face and chest are lighted up in yellow, you may command it in detail. For example : “Open the Function Menu”, “How is the weather in Hong Kong?”, “I want to watch the Kebbi theme song”. For detailed instructions, please refer to the “Key Commands” in the appendix or use the online customer service platform.

Precautions

To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or property damage, please read all safety information and operating instructions before using the robot.

To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or property damage, please do not disassemble the outer case of the robot.

  • Children should use the robot onIy under adult supervision.

  • Clear the area surrounding the robot during use, as any barrier might affect the robot’s movement.

  • In order to move the robot, lift the body of the robot with both hands.
    When using the movement function, please place the robot on a flat floor or surface to prevent it from falling down and getting damaged.

  •  While operating the robot, do not attempt to move its joints. Doing so could result in injury to you or damage to the robot.

  • Do not subject this product to mechanical shock (i.e. do not drop the robot)

  • Do not leave the product or the battery where it will be exposed to a heat source, fire, or temperatures over 40°C.

  • Do not immerse the product in water or any liquid to prevent short circuiting.

  • Please use the original OEM charger. Do not use any other brand charger.

  • When using the charger, be sure your hands are dry and hold the plug of the power cord to unplug it. Do not pull the cord. If the cable is broken or the outer plastic sheath is stripped off, stop using the charger immediately.

  • Please wipe the robot with a soft cloth moistened with diluted alcohol. Do not rinse the robot with water or clean it with detergents of strong acid and strong base, as these might cause damage on the coating of the product.

  • Do not attempt to replace the battery. If you need to change the battery, please send the product to the original equipment manufacturer.

  • If you need to leave the robot for a long time, please turn off the main power at the top of the head. Store the product in a cool, dry place. To prevent the battery from being overdischarged, please charge it at least once every three months.

  • Recommended user to take a 10-minute break after every 30 minutes.

  • This product is suitable to be used safely in tropical climate areas.

SD Memory Card

You will gain more storage space by using the “Storage Expansion with SD Card” function on the robot. Kebbi supports one MicroSD Card to expand the internal storage.
Supported SD Card Formats: SD,SD(HC), SD(XC) Class 10, 128G SD(HC), SD(XC) USH1(U1, Class10) 128G

Expand the storage by following these steps:

  1. Prepare a blank MicroSD Card.
  2. Insert the card i n to the card s lot o n the robot’s h ead.
  3. Enter “Storage Space” from the left menu and click “Form at as Internal Storage” under the IitIe of MicroSD Card.
  4. Compl ete the tra nsfer according to the guide s on the scree n.

Unloading the MicroSD Card is not encouraged, as the expanded internal storage might save important system data.

Troubleshooting

Problems Things to Confirm Solution

Nothing happens when you press and hold the power button. The robot does not turn on.| Is the battery low?| Charge the robot with its original OEM charger.
The power indicator light does not flash when the robot is being charged.|

  1. Is the battery fully  charged?
  2. Is the charger properly plugged into the outlet?
  3. Are you using the original OEM charger?

|

  1. The indicator light wilI stop flashing when the battery is fuIIy charged. You may use the robot.
  2. Unplug the power cord and plug it back into the outlet.
  3. Not using the proper charger / cable may result in charging failure. Please contact us if you need a replacement.

WiFi connection failed or is not connecting.| Open the drop-down menu to confirm that the WiFi router is con nected.| Select the WiFi router you wish to connect to and enter the required password to establish connection.
The Nuwa CodeLab function is unavailable.|

  1. Have you downloaded the Nuwa CodeLab APP to your phone?
  2. Has the phone searched and selected the robot?
  3. Did you click, “Start” on the APP?

|

  1. Down load the APP by referring to the link on the official website.
  2. Follow the directions in the User  Guide to select the robot to be con nected.
  3. Click, “Start” on the APP.

That is not functioning at all.| None of the robot operations are working and/or the robot will not restart.| Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to force restart.
