Brief of FAQ for PuraFlame Model: ALICE
Q: Can it be mounted on a wall?****
– A: No. This cannot be mounted on the wall, it is fully recessed and flushed with the wall.
Q: Can this be free standing?****
– A: No. recessed ONLY.
Q: What is the product dimension?****
– A: Please load down the PDF of “Specification sheet” in “Technical Specification” section. It shows dimensions for all the models.
Q: It’s called Alice 50″, so 50″ means which size?****
– A: The width of the glass.
Q: Does anyone know if the 6″ required depth is stud only?****
– A: Yes. It is for 6″ stud only.
Q: How close can I place TV above the fire?****
– A: It will require 8 inch safe clearance from the top
Q: Any clearance requirements in front of the unit? i.e. how close can iput an upholstered chair?****
– A: 3ft(0.9m) from the front.
Q: How long the power cord is? 4 or 6 feet? Where is the electrical cord located****
– A: 6 feet. On the top right back corner, when you are facing the fire.
Q: Where is the vent what blow out the hot air?****
– A: On the middle top front.
Q: Is the glass hot when on?****
– A: Not.
Q: Can the wall around the fireplace be wallpapered?****
– A Yes, you can. The heat only comes out the center vent on the front. The rest of the unit stays cool.
Q: Can this be hardwired?****
– A: Yes. It can be both hardwired and plug on. For more hardwire information, please see instruction manual.
Q: Do you need a dedicated circuit for it? How many amps does it need?****
– A: Yes. The fireplace uses 12.5 amps at full load (Heater and visual flame effects on), We suggest you prepare a 15amp circuit for this fireplace only.
Q: Can this unit be “Alexa” controlled? Or by smart home system? Or Smart outlet?****
– A: Sorry, it can’t.
Q: Can you turn on the flames without the heater or turn on the heater without the flame?****
– A: Sure, you can. Flame, heater and fuel bed can be turned on/off separately.
Q: Do the red heat indicator lights stay on the entire time the heat is on or do they disappear after a few seconds?****
– A: They disappear after a few seconds.
Q: Are display buttons always illuminated while fireplace is turned on?****
– A: They disappear after a few seconds.
Q: Do you have to reset the color every time you start the fireplace or does it have a memory that retains the last used setting****
– A: It will keep settings for the flame and color. The heat setting will not be retained.
Q: What is the power consumption (watts) when the heater is off?****
– A: About 20-40W for all lights without heater.
Q: Can the flames be dimmed or are they always the same brightness?****
– A: No, the brightness can’t be adjusted.
Q: Does this come with logs, rocks and crystals? Or do I have to purchase them separately?****
– A: All of logs, crystals and remote will come with the fireplace, please check all the parts before installation.
Q: How do I install the crystal bedding? Can I install crystals with the logs?****
– A: If you want a more contemporary looking fireplace, use just the crystals. They just lay in the trough area. If you want a more traditional looking fire, place the log pieces in the order as shown in the “User manual”. Once you have those in-place you can fill the void areas of the trough with crystals painted in black to create the “glowing ember bed”.
Q: To give the unit a more “beach” look, could I use small river rocks, instead of the crystals, to mix with the logs?****
– A: Yes, you can.
Q: How quiet is this fireplace?****
– A: You can hardly hear when you have just the flame going and very minimal noise when the heat is on.
Q: Why it makes a humming noise?****
– A: Please confirm the noise is coming out with the flame or the heater first, noises like squeaking, rattling, ticking, thumping, clicking, grinding, buzzing, beeping, knocking, humming or clunking, please contact the customer service through email or phone to help solve this problem better with a video to include the noise.
Q: What is the heating capacity on this unit? BTUs?****
– A: The heater has two settings, 750W and 1500W (About 5000 BTU), can heat a room about 400 sq ft. BUT If you are looking for the main function as a heater, this item is not for you.
Q: Is this heater infrared?****
– A: No. It’s resistive. The element becomes red and you can see it when you turn on the infrared heater. It destroys the picture for the flame effect. We prefer resistive heating element.
Q: Is the remote the thermostat? Can you set a temperature like a thermostat so it turns on and off to maintain that temperature?****
– A: Yes. It is your target temperature (from 60 to 84 F) what shows on the remote display. The temperature sensor is the box and cannot exactly measure the room temperature and would be about 2 or 3 degree deviation.
Q: What is listed?****
– A: CSA, CUS listed.
Q: What do you use to clean the glass panel?****
– A: A glass cleaner would work.
Q: Can it be shipped out of USA?****
– A: Please contact Amazon to see if they can help.
Q: I bought one but I broke the glass panel during installation, so how can i buy the glass panel only?****
– A: The glass is sellable in our shop, please call or email the manufacturer or contact the seller through Amazon messenger to purchase.
Q: Received the fireplace, but there is no warranty registration card.****
– A: There is one year warranty from the date you receive the product, please check the product including parts and functions once you receive it, if you have any problem, contact us and advise the order number for us to check the warranty. Even it is out of one year warranty, you can also contact us for help.
Q: Can I buy service part if out of warranty?****
– A: we have following parts: glass, remote, log and crystal set, installation
kit, flame
motor, flame and fuel bed LED boards, heater assembly and PCB board, just
