Safety instructions
Before operation
- Read the Instruction Manual carefully before use.
- Ensure that only trained staff use the instrument. The instrument may only be opened by a qualified and trained technician.
- Make sure the socket is earthed before use.
- Set the instrument on a stable, clean, dry, non-slip and fireproof surface.
- Do not operate in hazardous areas.
- Safe operation is only guaranteed with the original accessories from STARLAB. You will find the complete list in chapter 8.
- Accessories must be securely attached.
- Check instrument and accessories beforehand for damage each time you use it. Do not use damaged components.
- The operation voltage mentioned on the label must match.
- Always disconnect the plug before fitting accessories.
- When working, wear personal protection to avoid the risk from splashing of liquids and possible glass breakage which can result from mechanical vibrations.
During operation
- Do not touch any running parts (fingers can get caught!)
- Do not attempt to move the instrument during operation.
- Set the “speed-control knob“ to the lowest position first and then gradually increase the speed.
- Reduce the speed if the instrument does not run smoothly.
- Firmly secure the accessories and vessels in place to avoid damage or risk.
- Preparation of certain samples may lead to dangerous flammability. Only process samples that will not react dangerously.
- To ensure safety, follow the instructions for use for accessories. Please switch off the power before assembly of accessories and ensure both the instrument and the accessories are intact before switching on again.

The instrument is designed for mixing liquids. Normal use:The instrument is designed for use in professional laboratories. Do not use it in residential areas.
Inspection
Unpack the equipment carefully and check for any damages. If the instrument is faulty you should contact STARLAB or your STARLAB distributor promptly
The packing includes:
- One Rocking Shaker or one 3D Rocking Shaker
- One EU-power supply and one UK-power supply
- One Shaking Table Attachement (N2400-8021)
- One Instruction Manual

Set
| Displays when setting target value.
Err
| Displays when there is an error.
Display area
| When Set display, this area shows the value being set. When Set
disappears, this area shows the running value.
Operating
- Place the instrument on a safe and stable surface. Ensure the required operating voltage and power supply voltage are the same, and that the socket is earthed.
- Connect the power cable.
- Switch ON instrument.
- The instrument begins self-checking.
- When initialization is over, the LCD displays the last running speed.
- Rotate the speed control knob to set the target speed.
- Press the speed control knob to start the rocking function. Press the speed control knob again to stop the rocking function.
- Rotate the timer control knob to set the target time. Press the timer control button to start the rocking function at the set speed and time. During operation, motion can be stopped at any time by pressing the speed control knob or timer control knob. If the timer control knob is pressed again, the rocking function will start again and the timer will restart the countdown. When the timer reaches zero, the unit automatically stops and a beep will sound.
- If the rocking is smooth and regular, the instrument is working normally. If not, the instrument may be damaged, in which case contact STARLAB or your STARLAB distributor.
Troubleshooting

The instrument does not work when switched ON:
– check that the power cable is connected.
– check that the fuse is not faulty. -
The rocking function suddenly stops:
– if LCD displays “Er03”, this indicates the instrument is overloaded. Press the speed control knob or timer control knob first to deactivate the rocking function, and then restart with a lighter load. If the rocking function does not start, then repeat the process.
Maintenance and cleaning

Proper maintenance and cleaning can keep instruments in good working order and will
lengthen its lifetime. -
Be careful not to spray cleaning fluid into the instrument. Unplug the power cord when cleaning.

Please use only Isopropyl alcohol and water containing tenside. Before using other methods or cleaning agents, the user must ascertain with the manufacturer that this will not destroy the instrument.

Wear protective gloves during cleaning of the instrument.

When not in use for long periods, switch off the instrument and store it in a dry, clean and stable place at room temperature.
Warranty
This instrument is under warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service, for a period of 24 months from the date of invoice. The warranty claim expires if the instrument is opened by untrained or unqualifi ed staff. Our “General terms and conditions” apply.
