Inflatable surfboard – Instructions for use

IMPORTANT
Decathlon shall not be held responsible for accidents or injuries resulting from the improper use of the product, failure to follow the instructions given in this guide or modifications made to the product.

To avoid serious injury or death, follow the safety information in this document. Keep these instructions. Although every effort has been made to ensure that the infonmation ccntained in the guide is accurate and complete, Decathlon shall not be held responsible for errors or omissions. The inflatable surfboard is not a toy. This inflatable surfboard is not designed for use by children aged 12 or younger. Young people between the ages of 13 and 17 must use this inflatable surfboard under the direct supervision of an adult. For those aged 13 years or more, an adult must explain all the instructions contained in this manual before starting to surf.

Important safety instructions

PLEASE NOTE
Read the manual and follow the safety instructions for correctly and fully assembling the product, preparing ii for use, and using and maintaining it. For your safely, always read the advice and warnings ccntained in these instructions. Failure to follow these operating instructions may result in serious or even fatal injury. Only use the product in the locations and under the ccnditions for which it is intended.

Use of this product exposes the user to unexpected risks and dangers. The user must be aware of these risks and understand them. The safety instructions set out in the manual must be followed when using this product.

Do not use this product if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications.

When using this product in rough conditions (waves, choppy conditions, currents) or in places where there are lots of other users, thereby increasing the risk of falling, wear a helmet to protect your head.

Check the weather forecast to find out the sea and weather conditions before setting off. Bad weather and a poor marine environment are extremely dangerous.

For example:

  • an offshore wind can push you out to sea;
  • strong currents may prevent you from returning to shore;
  • a high or low tide can hinder you when returning to dry land due to the presence of rocks or mud.

Never use this product in conditions that exceed your capabilities (such as, but not limited to, big waves, counter-currents, currents and whitewater).
Use the product near the shoreline and pay attention to natural elements such as wind, tides and rip currents.

PAY ATTENTION TO OFFSHORE WINDS AND CURRENTS.
Never use the inflatable surfboard in stormy weather.
Do not surf on an area of water that you do not know well.
Inflate to the rated pressure indicated on the product without exceeding the recom­mended maximum pressure. Otherwise, it will over-inflate and/or explode.
Find out about local regulations and the dangers of surfing.
If the board is not used and is left in direct sunlight, ii can became seriously damaged.
Regularity check the air pressure and deflate the board if necessary.

Never use the key to screw or unscrew the valve when the surfboard is inflated. This can cause serious injury.

WARNING
Before use, carefully examine the product for signs of wear or leaks to ensure that it is in good condition. Do not use the inflatable surfboard if you notice it is damaged. Avoid any contact of the air chambers with sharp objects.

NOTICE

  • To avoid damaging the fin, do not go into shallow waters.
  • Do not get onto the board when the fin is fitted and it is lying on the ground.
  • The pressure gauge is only suitable for inflating the board and the gauge value is used for reference purposes only and should not be used as a precision instrument.
  • If you are using your board for the first lime or after storing ii away for a long time, check the air valve.
  • The inflatable surfboard is supplied in its carry bag.

Preparing the inflatable surfboard

  • Take the inflatable surfboard out of its bag. (A)
  • Unroll the inflatable surfboard and lay it flat on a clean, flat, soft surface (sand, grass, etc). (B)
  • Check that the valve push button is in the up position. if it pushed in press on it so that it come up (D)
  • Connect the end of the high-pressure pump to the valve. (E)
  • Inflate the board to the recommended pressure (refer to the MAX pressure chart). (F)
  • COMMENT: If the pressure is too high, press the button to release air until the pressure is at an acceptable level.

  • Turn the board over and fit the fin, checking that the curved part of the fin is pointing towards the rear of the board. (H)
  • Attach the leash to the fabric ring at the back of the inflatable surfboard. (I)
  • Carry the inflatable surfboard and put it in the water without dragging it along the ground. Attach the leash around your knee or ankle. This should not move on your leg.

Care, putting away and storing the inflatable surfboard

Make sure that potentially harmful liquids such as battery acid, oil, petrol or acetone do not ccme in ccntact with the board. These liquids can damage the product. If this type of product ccmes into ccntact with the inflatable surfboard, rinse ii with water.

Remove the fin and leash. (A)
Rinse the board and its accessories with fresh water.
Gently dry all the surfaces with a cloth.
Deflate the inflatable surfboard by pressing the push button in the middle of the valve. (B)
Fold the board, starting at the rear and moving forwards, to remove the remaining air. (C)
Store the inflatable surfboard and its accessories in its bag and keep it in a dry, shaded place out of the reach of children. (E)

REPAIR

In the event of a loss of pressure, identify the source of the leak by putting soapy water on your inflatable surfboard and observing where the bubbles are ccming from.

  1. In case of a leak around the valve:
  2. Deflate the board completely. (A)
  3. Insert the tightening key into the outer part of the valve. (B)
  4. Turn the key clockwise until it’s ccmpletely sealed. (C)
  5. In the event of a valve leak, please contact a DECATHLON store for repair.
  6. In the event of a puncture on the surface of the board:
  7. Deflate the board completely.
  8. Clean and dry the area to be repaired with a cloth. (A)
  9. Choose a piece of laminated material from the repair kit supplied with the board. Cul out a patch from the material that will easily ccver the area to be repaired, making sure that the ccmers are rounded. Apply a glue for “soft PVC” according lo the glue assembly instructions. (B)
  10. Press the patch down finmly for 30 seccnds. (C)
  11. Allow 24 hours to dry before re-inflating the board and checking the quality of your repair. (D)
