HOW TO SET UP PHILIPS HUE SMART LIGHTING
- Download the free Philips Hue app for Android or iOS
- Connect the Hub to your Wi-Fi-router using the included Ethernet cable
- Click “Setup” when the app has automatically found the Hub (Bridge)
HOW TO SET UP A BULB WITH A HUE BRIDGE
- Get the Hue app open.
- Tap the three dots (…) icon under the Home tab.
- Click Add lights.
- Click Search. If the Hue app is unable to locate your light, provide the serial number of the item.
- Tap Start configuration when you’ve located the new light. Your new light or lights can now be given a name and a classification.
- Create a new room or relocate the new light(s) in an existing one.
- The Hue app also offers a second method for adding lights: select the Settings tab, then select Lights before tapping the plus (+) sign.
HOW TO SET UP A BULB WITH BLUETOOTH
- Make sure your mobile device has Bluetooth turned on.
- Launch the Bluetooth Hue app.
- The addition (+) icon is located in the top right corner of the screen under Settings > Lights.
- Your lights will be immediately located by the Hue Bluetooth app. The lights will eventually show up on the Home tab.

No, you can add up to 50 lights to a single Hue Bridge.

Yes, please have a look at our Hue E12 bulbs. These are available in both White Ambiance and White and Color. Please make sure that your ceiling fan is not controlled by a built-in dimmer, as Hue bulbs are not suitable for use with dimmers unless specifically designed for Philips Hue.

Nope. You could use a base extender if need be. Or try any A19 bulb and see how it fits first.

The bridge has to have a wired connection.
Is it a 3rd generation bridge?****
No. Hue bridges have only 1st and 2nd generations. The 2nd generation only adds the ability to work with Apple Homekit. Hue lights come in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations (and the 3rd generation bulbs are MUCH better).
Is there a Hue bulb made for outdoors?****
We do not recommend using Hue outdoors.
If I want to connect and control living and bedroom do I have to purchase 2 hubs or could on be setup as 2 areas****
I have one HUB and Echo controls two separate bulbs. I can turn on one at a time or both at once.
Can you use the a19 bulbs outside?****
Yes, their brightness is not adversely affected by cold ambient temperatures. Philips LEDs are designed to operate safely in ambient temperatures between -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
Are the Phillips Hue smart light bulbs compatible with Alexa show?****
Yes, they are compatible with all Alexa devices.
Can I use my android smart phone to control this system?****
It’s possible to control the Hue system with an Android device. The Hue app 3.0 is available via the Google Play store and it will run on all devices which support 6.0 (Marshmallow) or higher.

All Hue bulbs are produced based on country specifications. That means that bulbs sold in the US are 110 V bulbs and bulbs sold in Europe are 220 – 240 V bulbs.
What generation is this starter kit and hub? I can’t find it for item 455287 and want to buy more bulbs****
I wasn’t aware that bulbs were hub generation specific. My understanding was that “smart” bulbs will work with any Philips hub.
Do I need the hub for Philips hue?****
Yes. You need one hub for every 50 bulbs I believe. After purchasing the one hub/bridge only bulbs are needed up until that 50 unit mark.

This kit comes with a hub and bulbs so that you pair them and can use instantly.
