IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precaution should always be followed including the ones mentioned below:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT

1. Use only with 230V ~ 50Hz power supply.
2. Do not use outdoors or for any commercial purpose. This appliance is intended for household use only.
3. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord, plug or any other damaged part. Do not operate If there is a malfunction. In order to avoid the risk of electric shock, never try to repair the appliance yourself.
4. Contact your local dealer or Borosil Authorized Service Centre or Borosil Customer Care, Toll free no 1800 224 550, 1800 224 552.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. When removing the plug from the wall socket never pull on the power cord.
6. Before using, place the appliance on an even, stable surface; operate according to instruction given.
7. Keep the appliance at least 6″ (152 mm) away from the walls for proper ventilation.
8. Do not let power cord hang over the edges of the table or counter, or touch hot surface.
9. Do not immerse cord, plug or base of the appliance into the water as may cause electric shock.
10. Do not operate the appliance for any other purpose than its intended use.
11. This appliance is not intended for usage by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
12. The kettle is designed for heating water only. Never put any other liquid into the kettle.
13. Do not touch any part of the kettle except the handle when the kettle is fully filled with boiling water to prevent scalding.
14. Discard the first batch of boiled water after purchase. Post this step, it is ready for use.
15. Pour out the boiling water in one go so that the temperature of the kettle lowers.
16. Do not operate the appliance without water as a safety precaution.
17. While water is boiling, or just after the water has been boiled, avoid coming into contact with steam from the spout.
18. Extreme caution must be taken when moving an appliance containing hot water.
19. The appliance is not a toy. Do not let children play it
20. The use of accessories, which are not recommended by the appliance manufacturer, may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
21. To disconnect, turn the switch to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
22. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.

CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appliance is equipped with 3-wire cord having a grounded plug. This plug must be plugged into a properly installed and grounded outlet.
WARNING:
Improper use of the grounding wire may result in the risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if necessary. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug.
POWER CORD:
A power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over longer cord. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, it should be  positioned in such a way that it does not drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over and;

1. Use only 3-wire extension cord with a 3-prong grounded plug.
2. The marked rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. The rating label is located on the unit.

HOW TO USE

1. Place the unit on the level surface.

2. To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid open button. Fill with the desired amount of water, and then close the lid.
   NOTE: The water level should not exceed MAX marks or sit below MIN level. Too little water will cause the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. If filled the water over the maximum level, water may spill out of the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly put in place and the kettle socket position matches the power base socket, before plugging the power outlet.

3. Plug the power cord of electric kettle to the main socket & Switch ON the main supply.

4. Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press down the On/Off switch; the Blue LED’s will light up. The kettle will start to boil the water, once the water has been boiled the On/Off switch will be shut off automatically. You can disconnect the power by lifting the On/Off switch at any moment during boiling water. If you want to boil water again, press down the On/Off switch directly to restart the kettle.
   NOTE: Ensure that the On/Off switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed: the kettle will not turn off if the switch is constrained or if the lid is open.

5. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water.
   NOTE: Be careful while pouring the water from the kettle, since the boiling water may cause scalding. Do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.

6. The kettle will not re-boil until the On/Off switch is pressed down again. The kettle may be stored on the power base when not in use.
   NOTE: Always disconnect the power supply when not use. Be careful of refilling when the kettle is hot.

7. The kettle is not recommended for boiling beverages like Tea, Soup, Coffee, Milk etc. It is for boiling water which can be used to process beverages.

BOIL-DRY PROTECTION

Should you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-dry protection will automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling it with cold water to bring it to a boil.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and let it cool down completely before cleaning.

1. Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water, or allow moisture to come in contact with these parts.

2. Wipe the outer body with a damp cloth or cleaner. Do not use a poisonous cleaner.

3. Remember to clean the filter at regular intervals. For easier cleaning, detach the filter and then replace it after cleaning.
   CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the kettle as these they may scratch the smooth surface of the kettle, causing  the glass to break suddenly during use or cleaning.

4. When not in use or when stored, the power cord can be wound under the bottom of kettle.

5. REMOVAL OF MINERAL DEPOSITS Your kettle should be periodically descaled as the mineral deposits in the tap water may form scale at the bottom of kettle interior reducing the operational efficiency. You can use the commercially available de-scaler and follow the instructions on the package of the de-scaler. Alternatively, you may follow the below instructions to use the white vinegar.

• Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then add water to cover the bottom of kettle completely. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
• Now discard the mixture in the kettle, fill the kettle with clean water, boil it and then discard the water. Repeat this several times until the odour of vinegar goes away. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing the insides of the kettle with a damp cloth.

This product comes with a warranty of ONE YEAR on product from the date of purchase as specified on the Warranty Card. This is against all defective material or workmanship. In the event of a defect, Borosil Limited at its sole choice, will either repair or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective free of cost through any Borosil Authorized Service Center or at customer place or with dealer from whom it has been purchased during the warranty period. The warranty is not valid in case:

1. Product is not used according to user manual.
2. This warranty does not cover glass unless broken out of box when purchased.
3. Defects caused by improper or reckless use.
4. Repairs done by persons other than Borosil Authorized Service Centre.
5. Modifications of any nature made in the product.
6. Tampered serial number and incomplete warranty card after purchase.
7. Product if used for commercial purpose (i.e. other than domestic use)
8. Usage of parts not recommended by Borosil or those made by other manufacturers.
9. The model no. on the invoice is different from the product to be repaired
10. Borosil is not responsible for accidents arising due to the use of accessories not designed for utilisation with this product.
11. If the defects are caused by fire, flood and the other act of god.
12. If the defects are caused by use of incorrect current or voltage or faulty electric power supply.
13. All consumables and parts susceptible to normal wear & tear are not covered under warranty.
14. This warranty does not cover damage or injury caused by accident, mishandling, misuse or normal wear and tear or for loss of injury, directly or indirectly arising out of use of this product. The decision of the company in this regard shall be final.
15. If the product is used with any type of adapter or connector.
16. If the product is used in locations with different electrical specifications.
