NOTE
In this manual, we refer to the UD-701N as “the unit”.
Checking the firmware version
- Turn the unit on.
- ress the MENU button to open the menu screen.
- Turn the SOURCE knob to show the firmware version (VERSION INFO).
Display example
The number shown to the right of “SYSTEM” is the firmware version.
Update procedures
A micro-USB cable is necessary to update the firmware.
Use a commercially-available cable.
ATTENTION
Cables designed only for charging cannot be used. Always use a micro USB
cable that supports data transmission.
NOTE
The screens used in these instructions are from Windows 10.

Uncompress the downloaded file.
The following files will appear.
• Win_DFU_driver.exe
• UD701N_updater_xxxx.exe (xxxx is the firmware version) -
Double-click Win_DFU_driver.exe, and press the Enter key.
NOTE
If a “User Account Control” pop-up message appears during installation, click “Yes”. -
When the Device Driver Installation Wizard appears, click “Next”.

Click “Finish”.

While pressing and holding the SOURCE knob, set the unit’s STANDBY/ON switch to ON.

When “F/W UPDATE” appears, turn the SOURCE knob to show SYSTEM UPDATE. Then, press the SOURCE knob.
If the screen shown above does not appear, set the unit’s STANDBY/ON switch to STANDBY, and repeat step 5. -
Use a micro USB cable to connect the computer to the SOFTWARE maintenance port on the back of the unit.
Refer to the unit’s operation manual for the location of the maintenance port. -
**Double-click UD701N_updater_xxxx.exe, and click OK.
NOTE
**The following screen will appear if the unit is not recognized by the
computer. Click the × at the top right of the window to close it.
Check the connection between the computer and the unit, and double-click
UD701N_updater_xxxx.exe.
• Cables designed only for charging cannot be used for firmware updates. Use a
USB cable that supports data transmission.
• Connecting to a different USB port on the computer might allow it to
recognize the unit.

When “Update is completed!” appears, click OK to close the window.

Disconnect the micro USB cable from the unit.
Disconnecting the USB cable will automatically restart the unit. Follow the procedures in “Checking the firmware version” on the previous page and check the firmware version.
