The Razer Blade 14” (2022) | RZ09-0427x is loaded with the latest features for the most powerful gaming experience yet.

This is a guide in updating the software of the Razer Blade 14” (2022). Make sure to follow all steps to successfully install the software. The entire process will take some time.

Before the update

Make sure to perform the following to successfully update the software of the Razer Blade:

  • Check if device encryption is disabled
  • Check if Windows Hello is disabled

HOW TO CHECK IF DEVICE ENCRYPTION IS DISABLED

  1. Click on Start.
  2. Type “cmd” and click “Run as administrator”.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-1
  3. Enter “manage-bde -status”.
  4. Check the Conversion Status.
    • The status must be “Fully Decrypted”.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-2
    • Otherwise, go to Settings > Privacy & security > Device encryption. Toggle off the switch for Device encryption.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-3

Wait until it is fully decrypted. The conversion speed depends on the amount of encrypted data.

HOW TO CHECK IF WINDOWS HELLO IS DISABLED

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
  2. Click “Remove” if the Windows Hello Sign-in is enabled for Facial recognition and PIN.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-4

HOW TO UPDATE THE RAZER BLADE 14” (2022)

  1. Download the firmware from https://rzr.to/F065YG.
  2. Make sure all ongoing updates are complete. Then, close all applications.
  3. Double-click on the updater and click “Update”.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-5
  4. Wait for the system to restart.
    • During the restart, the light will blink green, and the keyboard will light up and turn off a few times before the system fully restarts. This will last for about 15 minutes.
  5. Wait for a few minutes as the device will stay in the blank screen state before fully powering up.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions when the fTPM prompt appears.
    • Press “Y” if the Device Encryption is disabled before the software update.

HOW TO CHECK IF THE UPDATE IS SUCCESSFUL VIA BIOS MENU

  1. Reboot the Razer Blade.
  2. Press the “F1”or “DEL” key to access the BIOS menu.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-7
  3. Press the “Alt” + “I” keys and check the BIOS, EC, PD-1 and PD-2 firmware versions.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-8
  • If the BIOS version is 3.04, the EC firmware version is 1.04, and the PD-1 and PD-2 firmware versions are 00.00.00.11, the update is successful.

HOW TO CHECK IF THE UPDATE IS SUCCESSFUL VIA DEVICE MANAGER

  1. Press the “Windows” + “X” keys.
  2. Select “Device Manager”.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-9
  3. Expand “Universal Serial Bus controllers” and look for USB4.RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-10.
  • If the USB4 shows a yellow exclamation mark, check for Windows updates to receive the latest drivers (including optional update).RAZER-Blad-14-Inch-Portable-Laptop-fig-11
  • If the USB4 is not yet supported, contact Razer Support.
