FITTING GUIDE
STEREO REMOVAL
-
a. Use a panel removal tool to release the air cone unit and remove 2x screws located here (this step is only required for Volkswagen Golf vehicles).
1b. Use a panel removal tool to remove the trim surrounding the main radio. This will reveal 4x screws which will need to be removed. -
Once free, pull the head unit out of the dashboard and disconnect all of the wiring in the process.
FASCIA PLATE SET-UP
- Attach the brackets to the new stereo. These brackets allow you to set the specific depth of the unit in relation to the fascia plate. Start by lining up the spacers (Fig 1.)on the inside of the plates
- Attach the spacer and plate combination to the corresponding side of the stereo using the screws that come with the stereo. Test this set up outside of the dashboard by sliding into the radio cage.
- Take the fascia in hand, and place it atop the caged radio combination. If the depth/alignment of the stereo hangs out too much/is reccessed to far, use the radio removal keys to release the stereo from the cage and repeat the process.
- When you’re happy with the bracket alignment, you can proceed to install the fascia into the dashboard, utilizing the pre-existing screws.
STEREO INSTALLATION
-
Take the steering wheel control interface and attach the 14-way steering wheel harness connector to the relevant side.
-
Take the patch lead and only attach ‘Key 1’, ‘Key 2’ and ‘Ground’ to the corresponding wires on the stereo. When done, connect the 12-way connector to the steering wheel control interface.
-
Attach the antenna adapter to the vehicles pre-existing connection and the back of new stereo.
-
Attach the additional wiring on the harness to the back of the stereo:
Pink – Speed Pulse Green – Park Brake Purple – Reverse -
When all the above wires (and any additional accessories) have been connected, finally make the power connections between the stereo and the vehicles pre-existing connector.
