GENERAL:
The SpaceTV Security Cabinet contains components that may need configuration once installed. We hope that your installation will provide you with many years of maintenance-free convenience and enjoyment.
The majority of issues that may appear can be solved by:

  1. ADEQUATE AIRFLOW.
    • It is recommended that the SpaceTV Security Cabinet have clear space around them to allow for free flowing air.
    •  Do not allow clothing to block any of the air vent if located in a wardrobe.
    • It is important that fresh cool air be always available for the cooling fans to work effectively.
  2. CHECKING THAT YOU ARE USING THE RIGHT CABLE.
    • Perhaps the cable you have connected is for another device.
    • Is the data cable connected to the router and/or switch?
    • Is the correct HDMI/VgA port connected?
  3. CHECKING THAT ALL REQUIRED DEVICES ARE TURNED ON.
    • The power/stand-by switch on the equipment is switched on.
    • In rare circumstances the power to the SpaceTV Security Cabinet may be switched off. For example, a circuit breaker may have tripped or someone turned it off and forgot to turn it back on. This will also turn off the equipment in the SpaceTV Security Cabinet.
    • Check that any power sockets that supply power to your SpaceTV Security Cabinet are switched on and function normally.
  4. CHECKING THAT YOU HAVE CONFIGURED YOUR DEVICE CORRECTLY.
    • For example, a NVR/DVR will not work out-of-the-box. You will first need to configure it after you plug it into an appropriate wall outlet. See your device’s manual for more information and instructions.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – CABINET:

  • Open the carton and carefully remove the contents.
  • Open the Security Cabinet and remove the bag of accessories.
  • Locate the mounting template.
  • Once you have decided on your desired location, place the mounting template on the wall and mark the 4 hole locations.
  • If you are mounting to a plasterboard wall with 450mm stud centers, the cabinet mounting holes will allow for securing to the studs on both sides. This is the most secure mounting method for a cavity wall of this construction.
  • If you can not locate the wall studs it is recommended to use quality Hollow Wall Anchors to affix the security cabinet to the wall.
  • If you are mounting to a brick or rendered wall, it is recommended that the use of the appropriate wall fixings for this type of structure be utilized.
  • Note: The Security Cabinet is only as secure as the mounting method allows, please take care in choosing your cabinet location and method of mounting.
  • With the 4 mounting screws securely placed in the correct location, you can hang the Security Cabinet as required.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – EQUIPMENT:

  • Locate the Knock-outs on the sides of the Security Cabinet.
  • Choose the correct Knock-out depending on your cable entry requirements.
  • Remove the Knock-out by pushing inwards, the Knock-out is held in place at four points. By pushing back and forth these points will break away allowing the Knock-out to be completely removed.
  • Install the plastic grommet provided to protect the cables from any sharp edges.
  • Install the cables and equipment.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – MONITOR:

  • From the accessories pack, remove the two metal supports and mounting screws, securely fix to the VESA mounting holes on the back of the monitor.
  • Connect all leads to the monitor.
  • Hook monitor onto one of two mounting supports already installed on cabinet.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – NVR/DVR:

  • Carefully measure the width of the recorder to be installed

  • Slightly loosen the bolts that secure the side supports

  • Slide the side supports out to match the width of the recorder. (allow an extra 2mm on each side for a bit of spacing)

  • Tighten the bolts to completely secure the side supports

  • Loosen nuts on slider supports. (You may need to completely detach then re-attach the two slider supports so the angled stopper can be re-positioned to fit snug behind the recorder)

  • Carefully place the recorder in between the side supports. This can be done two different ways:

    1. Slide the recorder from the back. (you may not be able to do it this way on bigger recorders)
    2.  Or, completely remove the slider supports, place the recorder in between the two side supports, then place the two slider supports onto the recorder so the angled parts fit snug to the rear
of the NVR to prevent sliding back. Tighten with supplied nuts and bolts. (Note that nuts face outwards and the curved head of the bolts face inward to prevent scratching)
  • Fit cabled to back of NVR, ensuring they fit through one of the cutout sections at the base of the door

  • Carefully close the door and make sure you have enough clearance away from the monitor to prevent damage

  • Use the cage nuts provided to install a 19” rack mountable NVR if desired
