Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Unscrewing the Black Delrin End
To unscrew the black delrin end, follow these steps:
- Hold the spring in one hand.
- Place the set screw on the spanner wrench up against the end of the top spring.
- With the spanner wrench leaning against a hard surface, turn the spring slightly to release tension.
- With the other hand, turn the delrin until it comes off.
- If you don’t release the tension of the spring, the delrin end will stay locked in place.
Step 2: Installing the Battery and Using the Spring Carrier
Follow these steps to use the spring carrier:
- Put your battery in your sonde.
- Slip it into the spring carrier and screw the delrin end back on tight.
- Attach it to your push rodder or sewer machine and begin your locate.
- The gaps in the coil will allow for full signal strength.
Step 3: Removing the Battery
When finished with your locate, repeat step one to remove the battery from the
transmitter.
Note: Off-brand transmitters may not fit inside the spring carrier.

A: The Prototek Spring Carriers are specifically designed to work with
Prototek DuraSonde Transmitters. Off-brand transmitters may not fit correctly
inside the carrier.
How to Use

- Step 2: Put your battery in your sonde, slip it into the spring carrier and screw the delrin end back on tight. Attach to your push rodder or sewer machine and begin your locate. The gaps in the coil will allow for full signal strength.
- Step 3: When finished with your locate repeat step one and remove battery from transmitter
Prototek Spring Carriers are made to work with Prototek DuraSonde Transmitters. Off brand transmitters may not fit inside spring.
