POOL SEASON Calcium Increaser

Product Specifications

  • Product Name: Calcium Increaser
  • Active Ingredient: Calcium Chloride (100.0%)
  • Net Weight: 25 lbs (11.3 kg)

Product Information

This product is designed to raise calcium hardness in swimming pool water. Low calcium hardness can lead to corrosive pool conditions, potentially causing staining, etching, or damage to the pool’s finish. It is essential to maintain the calcium hardness in the range of 175-275 ppm to ensure water quality and prevent issues such as algae growth and difficult cleaning.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Application: Add the product directly to the pool water by scattering it over the surface. Do not predissolve as heat is generated upon contact with water.
  2. Dosage:
    • For a 10,000-gallon pool, add 4 lbs. to raise calcium hardness by approximately 40 ppm.
    • For the same pool size, adding 10 lbs. will increase calcium hardness by around 100 ppm.

Storage and Disposal

  • Store the product in its original tightly closed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat or open flame.
  • Do not reuse the container; dispose of it in the trash after rinsing thoroughly.

Hazard Warnings

  • Caution: Contains calcium chloride which may cause eye and skin irritation. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, or clothing.
    • Wear goggles, safety glasses, and rubber gloves when handling the product. Avoid breathing dust and do not mix with other chemicals.

  • NET WT 25 LBS (11.3 kg)

This product is used to raise calcium hardness in swimming pool water. Low calcium hardness causes pool water to be corrosive and may result in staining and etching or distorting of the pool’s finish. Plaster etched by low calcium hardness will become abrasive and uncomfortable for swimmers. Rough plaster increases algae problems and makes cleaning more difficult.

Calcium Hardness in pool water should be maintained in the 175-275 ppm range.
Never allow calcium hardness to remain below 100 ppm.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  • Add this product directly to the pool water by scattering it over the water surface. Do not predissolve this treatment as heat is generated when this product contacts water.
  • The addition of 4 lbs. of this product per 10,000 gallons of water will raise calcium hardness approximately 40 ppm.
  • The addition of 10 lbs. of this product per 10,000 gallons of water will raise calcium hardness approximately 100 ppm.
