Product Information
Specifications:
- Product Name: Compression Connector
- Model: RG6/6Q
- Usage: Cable termination
Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Cable
Fold back the braiding ensuring no braids touch the center
conductor. Straighten the conductor if necessary. Do not remove the
foil attached to the white dielectric.
Step 2: Attach the Connector
Center the cable over the back end of the connector and push the
connector onto the cable until fully seated.
Step 3: Compression Process
The cable is fully seated when the braiding is visible in the
clear InSITETM window. Adjust the compression tool post for
right-angle connectors by lowering the threaded post to the bottom
line marker using a flathead screwdriver.
Step 4: Compression and Verification
Place the assembly in the compression tool and compress (a tool
like 30-793 is recommended). The connector will compress against
the top-level spring clips. Verify that the connector is fully
compressed by ensuring the InSITETM window is no longer visible,
and the connector is now shorter than an uncompressed one.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I remove the foil attached to the white dielectric?
A: No, do not remove the foil that is attached to the white
dielectric as it serves a specific purpose in maintaining proper
functionality of the connector.
Q: How can I tell if the connector is fully compressed?
A: The connector is fully compressed when the InSITETM window is
no longer visible and the connector appears shorter in length
compared to an uncompressed connector.

IDEAL 90º F/BNC Compression Termination Instructions
-
Use coax stripper to strip cable so ¼” of conductor and ¼” of braiding are exposed. (45-605 shown)
-
Fold back braiding, make sure no braids are touching the center conductor. Straighten conductor if needed. Do not remove foil that is attached to the white dielectric (RG6/6Q)
-
Center cable over back end of connector and push connector on to cable until fully seated.
-
Cable is fully seated when braiding is visible in the clear InSITETM window.
90º BNC
5) Adjust compression tool post for right angle connectors by lowering
threaded post to bottom line marker with a flathead screwdriver. Place
assembly in compression tool (30-793 shown) and compress. Connector compresses
against the top level spring clips.
- Verify connector is fully compressed. InSITETM window is no longer visible and connector is now shorter in length than an uncompressed connector.
RG6 coax is used in this example. General preparation instructions are the
same for all IDEAL right angle 90º compression connectors. When working with
RG6 Quad cable, the outer foil can be removed, and the inner braiding should
be folded down. This makes it easier to push the connector on to the cable.
90º connectors are compatible with the OmniSealTM Pro XL (30-793) and Linear
XTM3 (33-362) tools.
