Introduction

Your child usually goes to bed at 9:00 p.m. but watch a movie that ends at 9:10 p.m.

How do you deal with this?

5 tips for using the Gametimer:

1. With a little bit of “leeway”, the Gametimer will quickly be accepted.
   Your child is responsible for their screen time within the set limits.
   This takes some getting used to for everyone, but children adapt quickly.

2. Talk to your child about the agreements around daily screen time. By involving your child By establishing these rules, you create support and involvement. Review and discuss the agreements again if there are changes, such as an adjusted school schedule.

3. Children know when playtime has expired. After this, give the child the opportunity to end or end the game in a good way and say goodbye to their online friends.

4. The objective of the Gametimer is to create awareness. Children learn that Pausing and stopping are important parts of gaming and screen use. If the Gametimer is occasionally not used in your absence, don’t spend too much there attention. You can check the playing times of the last 7 days in the statistics.

5. Agreeing on gaming and screen time isn’t easy, especially since children often don’t have a set routine. By agreeing on clear playtimes, your child can continue their daily better plan and manage screen time. This helps to balance screen time with other activities and responsibilities.

Manual & Installation

To unpack and check the Gametimer:

• Make sure that the package contains the following contents and that the Game timer and accessories are not damaged.
  • 1 x Gametimer
  • 1 x Micro USB-cable
  • 1 x Booklet warranty and safety instructions
  • 1 x Booklet Manual and Installation

Important : The Gametimer must be fully charged before commissioning.

• Place the Gametimer on a horizontal and stable surface and connect the Game timer with the Micro USB cable to a laptop or a USB adapter (not included) which is connected to suitable, properly installed and accessible socket.
• The battery indicator on the LED screen shows that the battery is charging.
• The Gametimer is fully charged when the battery indicator is no longer charged when the display is off.

Install Gametimer App

To be able to use the Gametimer it is required to install the Gametimer App.

Important: Do not install the App on multiple devices.

• A supported smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth and an internet connection is required.
• Access to location when using the app is required.
• Make sure your device has Bluetooth and an internet connection.
• Download and install the Gametimer App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• Open the App and follow the instructions.

Important: For Android (Google Play Store) Users:

App Permissions for Gametimer App:

• Turn on location when using the App
• Allow nearby devices
• Allow notifications

these settings must be activated otherwise the Gametimer will not connect.

Registration and Account

1. Open the Gametimer App. The Terms of Use screen opens.

2. Tap Agree to accept the safety instructions and user agreement. The Login and Register screen opens.
   PLEASE NOTE. Make sure that the Gametimer is within Bluetooth range and location access is enabled.

3. Tap Register. The create a new account window opens.

4. Choose your salutation and type your name, email and password in the relevant fields. PLEASE NOTE. The password must be at least 8 characters long and a lowercase letter, capitalization, number, and special character.

5. Please turn on I agree to the terms and conditions.

6. If desired, turn Newsletter sign-up on or off.

7. Tap Create account. The Verification screen opens.

8. Open your email and follow the instructions in the email to verify your account.
   PLEASE NOTE. Please check your spam folder if you can’t find the email.

9. Go back to the Gametimer app and tap Email has been validated.
   The Login/Register screen opens.

10. Type your email and password. Tap Sign in.

11. Select your country and language. After that, enter your city. Tap Next.

12. Tap Next. The Configure a new Gametimer window opens.

Configure a new Gametimer

1. Make sure Bluetooth and location access is on your mobile device Enabled.

2. Tap New Game Timer. Tap Next. The App will search for your Gametimer.
   The Select your Gametimer screen will show the Gametimer you found.

3. Tap the Gametimer you find. Your mobile device connects to the Gametimer. Once the connection is established, the color selection screen opens.

4. Choose the color of your Gametimer. Tap Next.

5. The Gamer Profile screen opens.

6. Select Girl or Boy. Type the Name, Date of Birth in the relevant fields.

7. Tap Next. The General Settings screen opens.

8. If desired, change Active Hours, Play Time, Number of Games and Waiting Time here.
   See Timer settings (H4) to change the settings later.

9. Tap Next. The set playing time is configured with the Gametimer.
   You’ll hear a Beep once the configuration is done. The Timers screen opens.

10. The playtime and user are now added.
    PLEASE NOTE. Go to settings to see if the Gametimer needs an update. (zie Chapter 10)

Adding Multiple Gametimers
It is possible to add multiple Gametimers to the App. To add a Gametimer:

1. Make sure that you are logged in and that the Timers screen is displayed.
2. Tap New Game Timer. The Configure Gametimer window opens.
3. Follow steps 1 to 10 of Configure a new Gametimer (H3).

Timer settings

1. Open Timers and tap the player’s name.

2. A schedule will open that allows you to select the desired playing time per day and in vacation mode you can fill in.

3. Tap the day you want to change the playtime for.

4. If desired, change Active Hours, Play Time, Number of Games and Waiting Time.
   Tap Back.

5. Repeat for the other days. Tap Save.

6. The set times are configured. You will hear a beep and the desired schedule is now on the Gametimer.

Vacation Mode and Travel Mode

Vacation Mode
The Gametimer includes a vacation mode. Vacation mode can be enabled to Activate different playing times during holiday periods. If Vacation Mode is activated, it takes over the normal playing times (weekly clock). To set up the holiday settings, see Changing holiday settings.

To activate vacation mode:

1. Make sure that you are logged in and that the Timers screen is displayed.

2. Tap to activate a user’s vacation mode.
   Vacation mode is activated when the vacation mode symbol is red.

3. Tap to turn off a user’s vacation mode. Vacation mode is disabled when the vacation mode symbol is black.

Changing holiday settings
The Gametimer includes a vacation mode. Vacation mode can be enabled to activate different play times during holiday periods.
To change the holiday settings:

1. Make sure that you are logged in and that the Timers screen is displayed.
2. Make sure that travel mode is not activated.
3. Tap the desired user whose settings you want to change.
4. Tap Vacation.
5. If desired, change Active Hours, Play Time, Number of Games, and Waiting Time.
6. Tap Back. Tap Save.

Rice mode
The travel mode is the digital on/off button of the Gametimer.

To activate travel mode:

1. Make sure that you are logged in and that the Timers screen is displayed.
2. Tap to activate a user’s travel mode. Travel mode is Activated when the travel mode symbol is red.
3. After travel mode is enabled, there will be a 1-minute wait before you can eliminate. When switched off, a completely new daily program is loaded.
4. Tap to turn off a user’s travel mode. Travel mode is disabled when the travel mode symbol is black.

Using the Gametimer

To start, stop, and pause the Gametimer:

1. To start the Gametimer, place the Gametimer on a stable and level surface with the green part facing up. The LEDs will show an indication of the remaining playing time. The exact playing time is shown on the screen. Once the playing time ends, the waiting time will be displayed on the screen. Once the waiting time is over, you can move on to the next playtime.
   This continues until the set number of playing times has been reached. As soon as the set number of playing times has been reached, the screen will show a stop sign and the Gametimer will emit a beep. Now place the Gametimer with the red part at the top. The sound will now stop.

2. The Gametimer can pause in the meantime (while playing) by placing the Gametimer horizontally. You’ll hear a beep and the screen will show a pause sign. Every minute you hear a beep twice. This will remind you that the Gametimer is in pause mode. The beep prevents the user from putting the Gametimer in pause mode and being able to continue playing, without costing them time. For the first five minutes, you’ll hear two beeps per minute. After that, you’ll hear two BEEPS per 15 seconds.

3. To stop the Gametimer, insert the Gametimer with the red part at the top. The screen will show a stop sign. After 30 seconds, the screen will show the day-time. If you stop a game, the game can be resumed (without pause) by turning the Gametimer green again.

Screen Explanation

Wallet

With the Wallet, the App Administrator (parent) can reward the child weekly for good use of the Gametimer. Every Sunday afternoon around 14:00, the parent receives a notification to assess the child’s performance. This can easily be confirmed with a YES or NO.
In the event of a positive review, the child will receive a WhatsApp message stating that their balance has been increased by the agreed amount, because the Gametimer has been used properly.
To set up the Wallet, follow these steps:

1. Tap Wallet.
2. Select the desired currency at the top right.
3. Tap the name of the Wallet user (child).
4. Open the Wallet user’s WhatsApp.
5. Enter the user’s country code and WhatsApp number and tap “Save.”
6. Enter the weekly reward amount and tap “Save.”

Make sure the Wallet is enabled and provided with a WhatsApp number and a weekly reward to be active. You can view the reward history by opening it and entering a time period. After this, you will be able to see how your child’s balance has been accrued.
Important: We take your child’s privacy very seriously and comply with GDPR rules.
The child’s WhatsApp number will only be used to send a weekly notification regarding the Wallet reward and will never be used for any other purpose.

Statistics

In the Gametimer app at the Statistics screen you will find the weekly played times of the user. This gives you a clear overview of the weekly times played.
The green lines in the graph indicate how much time is set per day in the week. The red line is the time played and these complete the green lines from bottom to top.

1. Make sure that you have a bluetooth connection to the Gametimer(s) and that you are connected to the internet.
2. Open statistics.
3. Tap the name of the desired user.
4. The user’s statistics are displayed. (it may take a while for these to load)

Update

Updating the Gametimer:

1. Make sure that you have a bluetooth connection with the Gametimer and that you connected to the internet.
2. Go to Settings and press Update
3. Tap Update. When the update is in progress, you should stay with the Gametimer. The update process may take a few minutes. (if there is no update, this will be displayed)
4. When the update is complete, you will receive a confirmation of the update. The new firmware is now on the Gametimer.

Migration and Account Deletion
There will come a time when your child will no longer need the Gametimer. We’ll explain what needs to be done if you want to sell or give away the Gametimer. The Gametimer is well secured and you can’t just link it to a new or different account. We did this so that children can’t create an account and set their own playtimes. Also, you won’t be able to delete your account as long as you still have Gametimers associated with it. Here’s what you need to do.

1. Make sure that you have a bluetooth connection with the Gametimer and that you connected to the internet.
2. Tap the Settings menu and remove the Gametimers from your account.
3. After this, the Gametimer’s are reset and can be connected to another or new account.
4. If all game timers have been removed from an account, account deletion is possible in Settings.
5. Your account will be deleted within 24 hours and this cannot be recovered after 24 hours.

It sometimes happens that a Gametimer is transferred to a new owner, but has not been removed from the old account. In that case, you can ask the old owner for their login details so that you can remotely remove the Gametimer from their account and then link it to your own account. The old owner also has the option to change their password before passing it on to the new owner.
If you do not know which account the Gametimer is associated with, but it is still connected to an account, you will need to send the Gametimer to us. We will then contact the old owner and, if possible and lawful, release the Gametimer for your use.
