Contractor Foam Gun Applicator – Instructions and Maintenance

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Before putting a can of foam on the gun for the first time, press the trigger down to release any air that may be in the barrel
  • Shake the foam pressure-pack can and screw the can to the gun. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
  • Squeeze the trigger to allow the foam to fill the barrel
  • Adjust the flow by tightening or loosening the flow-adjustment screw found at the back of the gun
  • For best results, mist the area to be foamed with water first. The hygroscopic foam setting process is aided with the water dampness of the substrate.
  • When finished, tighten the flow-adjustment screw fully until the trigger is locked

Maintenance

  • Always keep a can on the gun. Failure to do so will cause the foam to harden in the gun barrel to permanently clog the gun
  • The nozzle tip can be cleaned using a wire brush or similar. DO NOT scrape on a rough surface such as the concrete footpath bricks or rocks
  • When changing over cans we recommend squirting Foam Professional Gun Cleaner – 22011 into the can receiver inlet of the gun to free up any foam and prevent the inlet from blocking
  • If you prefer to clean the gun between jobs, ready for the next new spray can or the gun barrel is blocked, attach a can of Foam Professional Gun Cleaner – 22011 to flush out the barrel
  • If the ball valve, located in the gun where the can is attached, becomes stuck, use a thin object such as a pencil to press down on the ball to release it
