Product Usage Instructions

Charging:
The speaker must be turned off for charging.

  1. Connect the provided USB/USB Type-C cable to the USB Type-C port on the speaker.
  2. Connect the other end to a power source for charging.

Power On and Off:
To turn on the speaker, press and hold button (5) for 3 seconds.
To turn it off, press and hold the same button for 3 seconds.

Volume Adjustment:
To adjust the volume, press button (1) to decrease and button (2) to increase the volume.

Wireless Operation:

  1. Make sure the speaker is in pairing mode.
  2. Follow the instructions on your external device to search for the speaker and connect wirelessly.
  3. To disconnect from a previously paired device, press button (3) twice.

True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Function:
To use the TWS function, pair two XJ 120 speakers and enter PIN 0000 if prompted.

Radio Operation (Export Version Only):

  1. Press and hold button (3) for a few seconds to scan the FM band.
  2. Found radio stations will be saved automatically.
  3. To select a saved radio station, press and hold button (1) or (2) for a few seconds.

USAGE NOTES

Do not use power supply with a voltage higher than 5V , cause damage to the player.

  • Listen at high volume for long periods of time, may damage your hearing.
  • Avoid using it in the following cases:
    • Near strong heat sources, such as central heating plants or stoves.
    • In very humid places such as bathrooms, swimming pools, etc.
    • In very dusty places.
    • In places subject to strong vibrations.
    • Position the appliance in such a way that there is always enough room for free air circulation (at least 5cm).
  • Do not block the air inlets.
  • If any liquid enters the appliance, unplug it immediately from the socket and take it to the nearest TREVI authorised service centre.
  • Before switching on the appliance, always check that the power cable and the connection cable are properly installed.
  • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on this.
  • The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing water and no object filled with water, such as vases, should be placed on the unit.
  • Keep this manual for future reference.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
For cleaning it is recommended to use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents or abrasive substances.

The construction of this device guarantees long flawless operation. However, if come some problem, you should consult your nearest authorized service center.
TREVI pursues a policy of continuous research and development. Therefore, the products may show different characteristics from those described.

WARNING FOR A CORRECT USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERY

  • Recharge the battery in an ambient temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
  • Don’t recharge more than the suitable period to prevent the risk of overheating and burst.
  • Recharging the battery over the suitable period or an extended period of inactivity may reduce battery duration.
  • Rechargeable battery is liable to wear and tear and its performance will reduce gradually.
  • To extend the duration of the battery use it when is completely charged up to the complete discharging, then recharge it fully before use it again. Recharge a battery not completely consumed, will result a reduced duration. In this case, repeat the full charging/discharging cycle many times.
  • Avoid recharge the battery for the whole night.

CONTROLS

  1. – button:

    • Single click Volume -.
    • Long press Back to previous song.
  2. + button:

    • Single click Volume +.
    • Long press Enter into next song.
  3. button:

    • Single click pause/ play music.

    • Long press to Exit/ Re-connect wireless connection.
      When the device connected with the phone:

    • Double click to call back.

    • Single click answer/ end incoming call.

    • Long press about 2 seconds to reject the incoming call.

  4. button:

    • Single click to switch the light mode.
    • Long press to turn ON/OFF the light.
  5. button:

    • Long press to turn ON/ turn OFF the device about 3 seconds/time.
      Under the button, battery status LED indicators: It will flash when charged the speaker; it will keep light when battery is full charged.
  6. button:

    • Single click enter into/ exit TWS connection.
    • Long press to switch the music playing mode.
  7. Type- C socket.

  8. TF slot.

  9. USB socket.

  10. AUX jack standard 3.5mm.

CHARGING

The speaker must be recharged when switched Off.

  1. Using the supplied USB/USB Type-C cable, connect the side with the USB Type-C socket to the socket (7) of the speaker and the other end to the USB port of a PC or USB charger (5V 1A not included);
  2. The LED indicators (under button 5) will activate indicating the charging status; when charging is complete, all LEDs will remain lit with a steady light.

This device has a built-in overcharge protection circuit, which can be connected to a PC or changer for long time; it will take about five hours to charge the battery fully; the play time of each battery will vary depends on the volume used rather different.
Note: When the battery is low, the device will emit a warning sound for a few times before automatically turning off.

POWER ON/ OFF
To switch on the speaker, press and hold the button (5) for 3 seconds.
To turn off the speaker, press and hold the button (5) for 3 seconds.
Note: If there is no working state, it will automatically shut down after 15 minutes.

VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
Press button – (1) several times to decrease the volume, or button + (2) to increase the volume.

WIRELESS

WIRELESS CONNECTION METHODS

  1. Switch On the speaker, white Led indicator on button  (5) will blinking about 0.5 seconds/time under wireless searching status;
  2. Activate the wireless function on your mobile device (mobile phone, PC, Tablet) to search device name “XJ 120”;
  3. With manual click, the device will automatically pair and connect: successful connection will deliver reminding tone. (In general case, no password is needed; for special mode, output password, input “0000”), The white light is always On when wireless connected successfully with the device;
  4. The successfully paired device can be automatically connected for the next switch-on.
    The white light flashes slowly about 1 second/time under playing status.

Note:

  • With in 10s after entering wireless mode, the unit will automatically seek for the device and pair for  connection; after 10s, it needs to be connected manually.
  • Press the button (3) twice to deactivate the connection with a previously paired device and to re-pair with another device.

COMANDS AVAILABLE IN WIRELESS MODE

  • Press and hold the key + (2) for a few seconds to skip to the next track, press and hold button – (1) for a few seconds to skip to the previous track.
  • Press the button (3) to pause, press it again to resume playback.
  • Press the button (3) twice to redial the last number.

HANDS-FREE MODE FOR CALLS
When connected to a telephone, an audible warning will be heard when a call is received:

  • Press the button  (3) once to answer a call and activate the hands-free function, press it again to end the call;
  • Press and hold button (3) about 2 second to reject the incoming call.

TWS PAIRING METHODS
Two device of this model could connect together by this button (6) to boom up the music.

  1. Prepare two device which is disconnected with any other wireless device;
  2. Single clik this button (6) of them, you will hear short “di” sound after you single click;
  3. After a while, you will hear a long sound “di ~”, it means this two device connected sucessfully;
  4. Under connection, on your mobile device, search wireless device and select “XJ 120”.

Note: Using the TWS function must get the two device paired at first then continuing the wireless function.

RADIO FUNCTION
ATTENZIONE: When using the radio function, you need to plug in the type-C cable into the socket (7), as the radio antenna. The radio function can be used normally.

  1. Switch On the speaker;
  2. Select Radio function using button  (6);
  3. To carry out a scan with saving of found radio stations, press and hold the (3) button for a few seconds and wait for it to scan the entire FM band. Found radio stations will be saved automatically;
  4. To select a saved radio station, press and hold button – (1) or button + (2) for a few seconds.

MICRO SD CARD/USB OPERATION

  1. Switch on the speaker;
  2. Insert a micro SD card into the slot (8) with the electrical contacts facing down, or insert a USB memory into the socket (9);
  3. Playback will start automatically;
  4. Press and hold the button + (2) for a few seconds to skip to the next track, press and hold – (1) button for a few seconds to skip to the previous track;
  5. Press button  (3) to pause, press it again to resume playback.

AUX IN

  1. Connect the Jack/Jack audio cable (NOT supplied) to the AUX jack (8) and the other end to the external device. The device will automatically go to AUX mode;
  2. Start from the external device playback.

LIGHT THEME
During normal music playback, press the button  (4) several times to change the light effect. Long press button (4) to turn ON/OFF the light.

INFORMATION ON THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF BATTERIES

Warning: the operation of removal and disposal is reserved to technical personnel!
Whatever type of battery used up, it should never be placed in household waste, fire or water. Each type of used battery must be recycled or disposed of at an appropriate dedicated collection points.

To remove the battery:

  1. Remove the rubber covers on the sides of the unit where the plastic membranes are located;
  2. Pry between the two parts that make up the handle and remove the screws that secure it to the cabinet;
  3. Remove the screws from the plastic parts on the sides where the membranes are located;
  4. Remove the two fabric grilles;
  5. Remove the rubber foot under the unit;
  6. Unscrew all screws holding the front cabinet to the rear cabinet;
  7. Open the cabinet and locate the battery;
  8. Remove the battery and replace it with one of equal characteristics and capacity.

PRECAUTIONS FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT
The symbol shown on the equipment indicates that waste must be disposed of in “separate collection” and so the product must not be disposed of together with urban waste. The user must take the product to special “separate waste collection centres” provided by local government, or deliver it to the retailer against the purchase of a new product. Separate collection of waste and subsequent treatment, recycling and disposal operations promotes the production of equipment with recycled materials and limits negative effects on the environment and on health caused by improper handling of waste.
