    • A: No, these scales cannot be used for official metrology.

PRODUCT USING INSTRUCTION

Battery

  • Two 1,5 V batteries are included inside the packing. Insert batteries into the battery compartment in the manner indicated on the base plate. Normal batteries with 1,2 V are not suitable.

Positioning of the scales

  • Please ensure that the scales are in a horizontal position.

Switching the weight between kg/g and lb/oz.

  • The scales can show the weight in g or lb/oz. To change from one to the other, ensure that the scales are switched off and hold the key longer than 5 seconds until “SEt” appears.
  • Then press the key to change to either kg/g or lb/oz. Then press the key again for longer than 5 seconds until “SEt” disappears.
  • Now the chosen unit is saved. When turned on, the scales will now show the chosen unit of weight.

Weighing (ON)

  • All functions are controlled by a single key ON-OFF-TARE-HOLD. After switching on the scales, all segments appear in the display. Please wait until zero appears. Then place the weight onto the scales and read off the weight.

Net weighing (TARE)

  • Place an empty container onto the scales and then subtract this weight by pressing the key until zero appears. Fill the container. Only the additional weight is indicated in the display. After removing the container, the weight of the container will appear as a negative value.

Freezing of weighing value (HOLD)

  • The HOLD function serves to freeze the indicated weighing value and is of advantage when weighing large formats that hide the display.
  • Place the letter or parcel onto the scales. Hold the key for at least 2 sec. As soon as “HOLD“ is shown in the display, release the key. The display will freeze the weighing value.
  • Press the key again to release the HOLD function.

Switch-off (OFF)

  • Press the key until zero is indicated in the display. Press the key once more to switch off.
  • Automatic switch-off will occur after approx. 4 min. if no change of weight occurs in this time frame.
  • During the function, the scales will not automatically switch off. In case of low energy, the scales will switch off automatically.

Explanation

  1. Switching on
    • After pressing the operation key all symbols appear. You can check whether all segments are clearly shown on the display. Zero indicates that the scales are ready for operation.
  2. Negative value
    • Press the key once again.
  3. Overload
    • Weight exceeds the total weighing capacity of scales. Remove weight from scales and switch back to zero.
  4. Energy supply
    • In case of blinking “LOW” on the display, please change the batteries.
  5. Storage of weighing value
    • As long as “HOLD“ is shown in the display, the weighing value is being stored. Scales only switch itself off when too little energy is available.

This device complies with the requirements of EC Directive 2014/31/EU. Note: Unusual electromagnetic influences (jammers in the immediate vicinity) may affect the display value.
