Mounting
To mount the Wally Kitchen Scale, follow these steps:

Q: How do I change the batteries in the Wally Kitchen Scale?
A: To change the batteries, follow these steps:
- Turn off the scale and flip it over to access the battery compartment.
- Remove the old batteries and replace them with 3 new 1.5V AA batteries.
- Close the battery compartment securely and turn on the scale.

In the making of Wally and the WallyScale app, we have made an effort to
create a unique kitchen utensil that invites to be used and helps you become
clever on your cooking.
In this guide you will find good advice for installation, cleaning and daily
use of Wally. We hope that you and your family will enjoy your new kitchen
member.
Mounting
- Find a flat wall surface at a safe distance from the stove and other heat sources.
- Never place Wally over a burner, toaster, kettle or similar.
- See also section on warnings.
- Mount Wally at a suitable height making the display easy to read. Pay attention to mounting
- the wall bracket so that it is levelled. When the bracket is fitted, place Wally on it. Make sure
- Wally hangs tight against the wall.
- Use the included piece of double-sided tape to help with wall mounting. The screws must be used for final fastening.
- The tape is not intended for permanent installation. It is very strong and can destroy painted, wallpapered and similar surfaces.
Mount the wall mount levelled on a flat surface. Hang Wally on the wall mount.
How to use Wally
- Before use, insert the supplied batteries into the back of the scale. Make sure there is a good connection between the scale and the battery terminals (+/-).
- When opening Wally, the bowl drops into the brace. This is to ensure optimal support of the bowl when the scale is open. The bowl must be pushed into place when closing the scale.
- The switch on the back of Wally activates or deactivates (On/Off) Bluetooth®. Select ‘On’ if you want to use the WallyScale app. Open Wally. Press the 0 key on the display to turn on the scale.
- With the O key you reset the scale (tare). Prolonged touch of the 0 key turns off the scale.
- Wally automatically dims the display after 30 seconds and automatically turns off completely after 180 seconds of inactivity. After that, Wally must be activated with O.
- Switch between devices with the U (units) key.
- Wally is always to be closed after use.
- Wally is designed to handle max. 3000 grams. With a heavier load on Wally, movement may occur in the brace. Wally may have difficulty recording small amounts (<5 grams).
Establish connection to WallyScale app
Download the WallyScale app from App Store or Google Play. Accept for Wally to
use Bluetooth®. Then choose whether you want to create a user profile to be
able to use saved recipes on other devices such as a phone.
Turn on the scale and open the WallyScale app on the device you want to
connect to.
When there is a connection between Wally and chosen device, the display can be
operated from the
connected device.
WallyScale app provides access to
- Full control of Wally with device
- Access to database with nutritional content of more than 1200 ingredients
- Combine ingredients and save them as a recipe
- Use saved recipes as a starting point for new recipes
- Find the nutrient content per serving in your recipes (PortionControl)
Maintenance
We recommend that the bowl be washed by hand. Dark colors fade when washed in
dishwasher. Console and brace are to be wiped with a damp cloth.
Periodically lubricate the pivot on Wally with acid-free oil or grease. This
ensures friction-free movement when the scale is opened/closed. See picture on
page 18
Warnings
- The bracket must always be retrofitted with screws before use
- The weighing bowl is not microwave safe
- Always use both hands when removing the bowl from the brace
- Mount Wally at a safe distance from the stove and other heat sources. Never over burner, toaster, electric kettle or similar
- Do not leave items on the scale for long periods of time
- Always close Wally after use
- The tape may destroy painted, wallpapered and similar surfaces
Instructions for disposal
Packaging, batteries and end-of-life Wally should be handed in for recycling at a recycling station or similar. As Wally is assembled without the use of glue, all parts can be sorted and reused.
Tips
- Removing the bowl from the scale is best done by keeping one hand on the console and grasping the edge of the bowl with the other hand – and with a calm movement turn the bowl off the brace
- If you use tape as an assembly aid and find it difficult to loosen it from the wall and bracket when dismounting, you may advantageously heat the wall bracket with a hair dryer while you carefully pry it free off the wall. Take care that the wall bracket does not get too hot and is twisted crookedly during removal
- If the wall mount is crooked, you may find that Wally does not weigh correctly
- Always secure the bracket with screws
- If there are problems establishing a connection between scale and device, even if the button on the back of the scale is set to “on”, reinstall the WallyScale app and repeat the installation procedure

Attention
The weighing sensor inside Wally is sensitive and will be damaged if Wally is
dropped.
Lubricate occasionally pivot with one drop of acid free oil on each side for smooth operation.
