Product Usage Instructions

• Getting Started
  • Make sure the unit is turned Off.
  • Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit and use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
  • Open the battery cover and remove old batteries.
  • Install 2 new AA batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
  • Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw.
• Activating Normal Play Mode
  • To activate normal play mode, press the Volume Buttons or slide the Timer or Light Control switch.
• Product Features
  • On/Off Switch: Slide to turn On or Off.
  • Timer: Choose 15, 30, or 45 minutes of play.
  • Volume Buttons: Adjust volume with + or – buttons.
  • Light Selector: Choose Off, Night Light, or Ceiling Projection.
  • Night Light: The door light will dim after 5 minutes.
  • Cry Detection: Automatically plays lullabies and nature sounds when a cry is detected.

  • Penguin Sensor: Activate additional lights by placing the Plush Penguin inside the arch.

Thank you for purchasing the Soothing Starlight Igloo™. This adorable igloo and plush set is a soother and sleep trainer all in one with a night light and ceiling projection features to engage little ones as they grow.

WARNING

• All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy and should be discarded for your child’s safety.

NOTE

• Please keep this Quick Start Guide as it contains important information.

NOTE

• The Soothing Starlight Igloo™ uses IR technology that may not work well in full sunlight conditions. Please do not use the toy in direct sunlight.

Unlock the packaging locks:

1. Rotate the packaging lock 90 degrees counterclockwise.
2. Pull out the packaging lock and discard.

GETTING STARTED

Battery Removal and Installation

1. Make sure the unit is turned Off.
2. Find the battery cover located on the back of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
3. Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
4. Install 2 new AA (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.)
5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure it.

WARNING: Adult assembly is required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.

IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION

• Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
• Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
• Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:

• Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging.
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

ACTIVATE NORMAL PLAY MODE

• This product is in Try-Me mode in the package. To activate normal play mode, press the Volume Buttons or slide the Timer or Light Control switch.

PRODUCT FEATURES

1. On/Off Switch
   • To turn the unit On, slide the On/ Off Switch to the On ( ) position. To turn the unit Off, slide the On/ Off Switch to the Off ( ) position.
2. Timer
   • Slide the Timer to choose 15, 30, or 45 minutes of play. When the time is up the unit will automatically power down.
3. Volume (+ / -) Buttons
   • Press the + or – button to adjust the volume.
4. Light Selector
   • Slide the selector to choose between the following light modes:
   • Off – Lights off, sound will play.
   • Night Light – Soft blue light on.
   • Ceiling Projection – Light on.
5. Night Light
   • The door light will dim after 5 minutes.
6. Automatic Shut-Off
   • The VTech® Soothing Starlight Igloo™ will automatically power down after the selected time to preserve battery life. The unit canbe turned On again by pressing a Mode Button on the front of the unit, or Volume Buttons on the back. The unit will also reactivate when the sensor detects the baby’s cry.
7. Cry Detection
   • When little ones wake unexpectedly and cry, the Soothing Starlight Igloo™ turns On automatically to play lullabies, melodies, and calming nature sounds. Cry Detection will turn Off automatically after 8 hours.

ACTIVITIES

1. Penguin Sensor
   • The Sensor will activate additional lights when you place the Plush Penguin inside the arch. Remove the Penguin to turn Off the lights.
   • In Night Light mode, the Penguin will activate the Ceiling Projector.
   • In Projection mode, the Penguin will activate Night Lights in the arch.
2. Mode Selection
   • Melodies with nature sounds.
   • Calming nature sounds.
   • Lullabies and bedtime melodies.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth, the Penguin is machine washable.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
3. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:

1. Please turn the unit Off.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again.
5. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries.
