- It is used for high-quality kitchens and furniture and also for any type of caravan or recreational vehicles, tiny homes, houses on wheels
Advantages
- Broad range of decorative finishes with an ultra-durable core.
- Naturally beautiful appearance.
- Exceptional mechanical properties: lightweight, dimensionally stable and easily machined.
- Designed to minimize panels’ weight and consequently helps to reduce a fuel consumption in caravan-towing vehicles.
- Available in a UV-hardened acrylic finish on both sides.
Standard thicknesses
- 3, 4, 6.5, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 25, 30, 35, 40 mm
- Other thicknesses available on request.
Stock Sizes
- Stock sizes: 2500 x 1250 mm, 2440 x 1220 mm
- Other sizes available on request.
Sustainability
- Poplar plywood is manufactured from plantation-grown 100% European Poplar trees.
Poplar wood provides lightness, stability, high-quality surface and ease of machining, making it an ideal option for a large number of applications.
Gluing
The gluing is consonant with the norm UNI EN 314 and it is determined only on the basis of its resistance to the humidity that defines the gluing class (norm UNI EN 636)
The Poplar plywood is produced in:
- CLASS 1: ureic gluing suitable to panels used in dry places and in interiors (UNI EN 636-1)
- CLASS 2: melamine gluing suitable to panels used in damp or in outside but sheltered places (UNI EN 636-1). All Poplar plywood panels are formaldehyde emission class El (Certificate CATAS);
- CARB PHASE 2: special gluing on demand consonant to the Californian norm demanding absolutely the lowest formaldehyde emissions.
Formaldehyde emission
Poplar plywood panels meet the requirements of the QUALITY AWARD FORMALDEHYDE 4 STARS technical regulation on low formaldehyde emissions, assessed by the CATAS Laboratory abiding by the JIS A 1460 standard (Desiccator method). This Standard is used in Japan to determine the quantity of formaldehyde emissions in construction panels.
Grades
Poplar plywood density is 426 kg/m3.
Appearance grade AB – Few pin knots or healthy and adhering knots without cracks are allowed. A very light in contrast discoloration is allowed as well as good quality putty or repair work that blends in with the rest of the surface.
- B – May contain healthy, adhering knots of diameter up to 35mm, small fallen knots or cracks repaired with putty. Noncontrast discoloration is allowed.
- BB – natural face with colour variations and healthy knots, suitable for coating with laminates, colour paints or varnishes. May contain healthy adhering knots size up to 35 mm in diameter, cracks repair works.
Durability And Storage
Durability
- Poplar plywood boasts superior strength-toweight ratio, good screw withdrawal force, unique bending strength, and can be used for structural application.
Storage
- Plywood must be stored in a well ventilated, weather protected area with the panels stacked horizontally.
