POOL SAFETY

PREVENT YOUNG CHILDREN FROM DROWNING:

  • KEEP UNSUPERVISED CHILDREN FROM ACCESSING THE POOL BY INSTALLING FENCING OR OTHER APPROVED BARRIER AROUND ALL SIDES OF POOLS.
  • STATE OR LOCAL LAWS OR CODES MAY REQUIRE FENCING OR OTHER APPROVED BARRIERS.
  • CHECK STATE OR LOCAL LAWS AND CODES BEFORE SETTING UP POOL.
  • REFER TO THE LIST OF BARRIER RECOMMENDATIONS AND GUIDELINES AS DESCRIBED IN CPSC PUBLICATION NO. 362 “SAFETY BARRIER GUIDELINE FOR HOME POOLS” FOUND AT www.poolsafely.gov
  • DROWNING OCCURS SILENTLY AND QUICKLY. ASSIGN AN ADULT TO SUPERVISE POOL AND WEAR PROVIDED WATER WATCHER TAG.
  • KEEP CHILDREN IN YOUR DIRECT SIGHT WHEN THEY ARE IN OR NEAR POOL AND WHEN YOU ARE FILLING AND EMPTYING POOL.
  • WHEN SEARCHING FOR A MISSING CHILD, CHECK POOL FIRST, EVEN IF YOU THINK CHILD IS IN THE HOUSE.

PREVENT YOUNG CHILDREN FROM GAINING ACCESS TO POOL:

  • POSITION FURNITURE AWAY FROM POOL SO THAT CHILDREN CAN NOT CLIMB AND GAIN ACCESS
  • WHEN FINISHED USING POOL, EMPTY POOL TO PREVENT CHILDREN FROM GAINING UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS AND DROWNING.
  • WHEN LEAVING THE POOL, REMOVE FLOATS AND TOYS FROM THE POOL THAT MIGHT ATTRACT A CHILD

BE PREPARED TO RESPOND TO AN EMERGENCY

  • KEEP A WORKING PHONE AND LIST OF EMERGENCY NUMBERS NEAR POOL.
  • BECOME CERTIFIED IN CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) SO YOU CAN RESPOND TO AN EMERGENCY.

ELECTROCUTION RISK:

  • KEEP ALL ELECTRICAL LINES, EXTENSION CORDS, RADIOS, SPEAKERS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AWAY FROM THE POOL.
  • DO NOT INFLATE OR RE-INFLATE POOL WITH ELECTRIC PUMP WHEN FILLED WITH WATER OR IN THE PRESENCE OF WATER.
  • DO NOT PLACE POOL NEAR OR UNDER OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL LINES.

SET-UP LOCATION

Warning

  • POOL PRESENTS A DROWNING HAZARD EVEN DURING FILLING AND DRAINING OF THE POOL. MAINTAIN CONSTANT SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN AND DO NOT REMOVE ANY SAFETY BARRIERS UNTIL THE POOL IS COMPLETELY EMPTY AND STOWED AWAY
  • THE INFLATABLE POOL LOCATION MUST ALLOW YOU TO SECURE ALL DOORS, WINDOWS, AND SAFETY BARRIERS TO PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED, UNINTENTIONAL OR UNSUPERVISED POOL ENTRY.
  • INSTALL A SAFETY BARRIER THAT WILL ELIMINATE ACCESS TO THE POOL FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AND PETS.
  • FAILURE TO SET UP THE POOL ON FLAT, LEVEL, COMPACT GROUND AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN THE POOL’S COLLAPSE OR THE POSSIBILITY THAT A PERSON LOUNGING IN THE POOL COULD BE SWEPT OUT, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

SELECT AN OUTDOOR LOCATION FOR THE POOL WITH THE FOLLOWING IN MIND:

  • FLAT AND LEVEL SURFACE. DO NOT SET UP THE POOL ON A SLOPE OR INCLINED SURFACE
  • GROUND SURFACE MUST BE COMPACTED AND FIRM ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE PRESSURE AND WEIGHT OF A FULLY SET-UP POOL.
  • DO NOT SET-UP THE INFLATABLE POOL ON A DECK, PLATFORM, ASPHALT OR ANY OTHER HARD SURFACES.
  • POOL FENCING LAWS MAY AFFECT THIS PRODUCT. CONSULT YOUR STATE OR LOCAL COUNCIL LAWS AND CODES AND SET UP THIS INFLATABLE POOL FLOAT ACCORDINGLY.
  • THE AREA SHALL FACILITATE DRAINAGE OF THE POOL WATER AFTER EACH USE.

INFLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • FIND A FLAT AND LEVEL LAWN SURFACE THAT IS FREE AND CLEAR OF STONES, BRANCHES OR OTHER SHARP OBJECTS THAT MAY PUNCTURE THE INFLATABLE POOL’S LINER OR CAUSE INJURY. A PUNCTURE OF THE POOL’S BOTTOM LINER WILL CAUSE AN INFLATABLE TO LOSE WATER.
  • MOVE THE INFLATABLE POOL TO THE DESIRED SET-UP LOCATION BEFORE INFLATION. DO NOT INFLATE THE POOL AND THEN DRAG IN ORDER TO AVOID PUNCTURES, RIPS, TEARS AND DAMAGE.
  • SLOWLY UNFOLD AND INSPECT FOR DAMAGE, PUNCTURES, RIPS AND TEARS. DO NOT USE IF PRODUCT IS DAMAGED.
  • CLOSE THE DRAIN PLUG ON THE INFLATABLE POOL LINER.
  • INFLATE THE BOTTOM AIR CHAMBER FIRST (IF APPLICABLE) WITH A MANUAL AIR-PUMP DESIGNED FOR INFLATABLE PRODUCTS AND THEN EACH ADDITIONAL AIR CHAMBER.
  • FILL THE INFLATABLE POOL UNTIL EACH CHAMBER IS FIRM BUT NOT HARD TO THE TOUCH. IF THE PRODUCT SHOWS ANY SIGNS OF STRAINING AT THE SEAMS, IT IS OVER-INFLATED AND COULD BE DAMAGED. IF OVER-INFLATED, IMMEDIATELY RELEASE AIR AND INSPECT FOR DAMAGE. DO NOT OVER-INFLATE AND DO NOT USE A HIGH-PRESSURE AIR COMPRESSOR.

FILL WITH WATER

  • ENSURE THE INFLATABLE POOL IS PROPERLY INFLATED AND THE WATER CAP IS CLOSED ON THE BOTTOM POOL LINER.
  • SLOWLY FILL THE WATER TO THE TOP OF THE FIRST INFLATED CHAMBER (ABOUT 7’’ OF DEPTH).
  • DO NOT OVERFILL, DO NOT EXCEED A WATER DEPTH OF 10 INCHES

CONTAMINATION WARNING

  • WATER CAN EASILY BECOME CONTAMINATED. DRAIN THE WATER AFTER EACH USE. REFILL BEFORE EACH USE OR IF WATER BECOMES NOTICEABLY CONTAMINATED

LARGE AIR VALVES: INFLATES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES WITH A MANUAL BELLOWS STYLE AIR PUMP (NOT INCLUDED).

  • STEP 1: OPEN THE AIR VALVE
  • STEP 2: INSERT AIR PUMP INTO THE AIR VALVE. IF YOUR AIR PUMP FEATURES A LONG ADAPTER, INSERT PAST AIR SAFETY FLAP INSIDE VALVE. IF YOUR AIR PUMP DOES NOT REACH THE AIR SAFETY FLAP WHEN INSERTED INTO THE VALVE, APPLY SLIGHT PRESSURE WITH YOUR FINGERS TO PINCH THE BASE OF THE AIR VALVE TO ALLOW AIR TO ENTER WITH EASE.
  • STEP 3: CLOSE AIR VALVE.

TO DEFLATE:

  • STEP 1: OPEN THE AIR VALVE
  • STEP 2: PINCH THE BASE OF THE AIR VALVE TO ALLOW AIR TO ESCAPE. YOU CAN USE A AIR PUMP WITH REVERSE AIR FLOW TO DEFLATE QUICKER.
  • STEP 3: WHEN FULLY DEFLATED, CLOSE THE AIR VALVE.

*USE AN AIR PUMP DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR INFLATABLE PRODUCTS. DO NOT USE A HIGH-PRESSURE AIR COMPRESSOR TO INFLATE.

DRAINAGE

ADULTS MUST DRAIN AND STORE AFTER EACH USE. CHECK LOCAL REGULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS REGARDING DISPOSAL OF POOL WATER.

  • REMOVE EVERYTHING FROM THE POOL.
  • OPEN THE DRAIN VALVE ON THE BASE OF THE POOL LINER.
  • OPEN THE INFLATION VALVES COMPLETELY (SEE DIAGRAM) TO DEFLATE ALL AIR CHAMBERS.
  • SLOWLY LIFT ONE SIDE OF THE POOL TO DRAIN ANY REMAINING WATER.
  • RINSE AS NEEDED TO COMPLETELY CLEAN THE INFLATABLE.
  • LET THE INFLATABLE POOL DRY COMPLETELY. SPRINKLE TALCUM POWDER TO PREVENT VINYL FROM STICKING TOGETHER AND TO ABSORB ANY WATER YOU MAY HAVE MISSED.
  • RE-INSERT ALL VALVE CAPS PRIOR TO STORAGE.
  • GENTLY FOLD AND STORE.

REPAIR PATCH

  • A REPAIR PATCH HAS BEEN INCLUDED WITH YOUR INFLATABLE POOL FOR SMALL LEAKS AND HOLES. CLEAN AND SMOOTH SURFACE BEFORE APPLYING REPAIR PATCH. REFER TO THE BACK OF THE REPAIR PATCH FOR INSTRUCTIONS

WATER WATCHER TAG

  • ASSIGN AN ADULT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WATCHING CHILDREN IN THE POOL. GIVE THIS PERSON A “WATER WATCHER” TAG AND ASK THAT THEY WEAR IT THE ENTIRE TIME THEY ARE IN CHARGE OF SUPERVISING CHILDREN IN THE POOL. IF THEY NEED TO LEAVE FOR ANY REASON, ASK THIS PERSON TO PASS THE “WATER WATCHER” TAG AND THE SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY TO ANOTHER ADULT. IF YOU NEED A REPLACEMENT WATER WATCHER TAG, PLEASE EMAIL HELP@FUNBOY.COM FOR ASSISTANCE

STORAGE

  • ENSURE POOL AND ALL PARTS ARE COMPLETELY DRY BEFORE FOLDING AND STORAGE.
  • DRY WITH A TOWEL AND LET SIT IN THE SUN FOR 1 HOUR TO COMPLETELY DRY.
  • LAY POOL FLAT ON IT’S SIDE AND SLOWLY FOLD INTO A SQUARE.
  • STORE IN A COOL, DRY LOCATION WITH NO EXPOSURE TO SUN.
