Preparation

  • Examine the crack that is being repaired
  • Lay drop cloth or cardboard on the floor
  • Clean the crack and immediate surrounding areas with a wire brush or optional tools if the area requires further preparation

Note: Each kit will fix approximately one wall crack that measures 4-5 feet long, 1/16 to 1/8 inches wide and 8 inches deep (121-152 cm long, 0.15 to 0.31 cm wide and 20 cm deep)
Tools: Marker, wire brush, plastic, drop cloth or cardboard, (optional) tools for crack prep.
Preparation

Port Locations

  • Mark port locations approximately every 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm) starting from the bottom of the crack; the tighter the crack, the closer the ports should be. For a typical 8 inch (20 cm) thick concrete wall, ports should be installed every 8 inches (20 cm) and no closer than 6 inches (15 cm). Thinner slabs may allow for 12 inch (30 cm) spacing
Note: Additional ports may be required for cracks with multiple locations
    Tools: Marker and measuring tape
    Port Locations

Port Installation

Start within 4 inches (10 cm) of the bottom of the crack and mark your port locations along the crack every 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm).

  • Detach port cap from the side of the port and set aside. Do not discard the port plugs as they will be used later in the installation
  • Wearing gloves, insert the cartridge into a heavy duty caulking gun with a minimum thrust ratio of 10:1
  • Dispense a small amount of DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE onto a disposable work surface, such as cardboard or painter’s tray. Epoxy should be hand mixed prior to application with a plastic putty knife
  • Roll the entire flat edge of the port in the DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE
  • Make sure the hole for the port is not plugged with epoxy
  • Pressing firmly, place the port directly over the crack at previously marked locations
  • The final port location needs to be below the outside grade of the structure
  • Small cracks coming off the main crack will need to be covered with DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE

Hint: To get the epoxy to set quicker, rapidly mix by hand after dispensing.
Note: Tubes may not appear to be completely filled due to the filling process; the quantity stated on the label is correct
Tools: Gloves, disposable work surface, ports

  • 01: Roll the injection port in DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE
    Port Installation

  • 02: Press injection port firmly directly over the crack
    Port Installation

  • 03: Cover over previously marked locations
    Port Installation

Cover the crack

  • Dispense approximately 1/3rd of the tube of the DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE onto the disposable work surface (like card board). Add more as needed. Epoxy should be hand mixed prior to application with a plastic putty knife
  • Apply the DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE over the entire crack, ensuring there are no gaps for the polyurethane to leak out during injection
  • Feather the epoxy approximately 2 inches (5 cm), or more, on both sides of the crack
  • At port locations, apply the epoxy around the entire port until the port base is no longer visible
Tools: Gloves, disposable work surface, plastic putty knife.
    Cover the crack

Injection

  • Once DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE (used to seal the crack and set the ports) has initially cured after approximately 2-3 hours, the crack is ready to inject
TIP: If a screwdriver can dent the epoxy, it is NOT fully cured.
Environmental conditions play a role in how long it takes to cure, and a hardness test should be done prior to injection

  • Insert DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK INJECTION EXPANDING FOAM into the caulking gun, remove cap, and screw on nozzle

  • Starting at the bottom port, push the static mixing nozzle into the port until you feel a click

  • Dispense the product slowly until you see it coming out of the next highest port.
Remove nozzle and close off the port with the cap. Please note that injection may take up to 4 minutes or longer per port; the tighter the crack, the longer the polyurethane will take to flow into it. Patience is key!

  • Insert into the next port and repeat the process working your way along the crack, port by port
Tools: Gloves, safety glasses, safety mask, caulking gun, port caps
    Injection

Clean Up

  • Once DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE and DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK INJECTION EXPANDING FOAM have cured, remove the ports from the wall using a hammer. It may take 12-24 hours for the epoxy to cure before you can remove the ports
  • Patch port locations with DRICORE™ PRO CONCRETE REPAIR CRACK PREP SURFACE PASTE
    Tools: Hammer
