My Razer product does not work correctly with a specific program or game.
What should I do?
If you are experiencing issues with the Razer device in a particular application, test the device in another application to confirm if the issue is specific to that application. If the Razer device functions properly in another application, then the program is likely the cause of the issue. Feel free to contact customer support to report the issue and see if there are any fixes or workarounds.
Troubleshooting
Why is my Razer Core having issues connecting to my Wi-Fi?
This can happen with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Try to use an Ethernet cable or connect to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network for best performance.
When I plug in my Razer Core to the Blade, none of the USB devices and the
external monitor connected to the Core are working.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- Unplug the Razer Core from your Razer Blade by removing the Thunderbolt 3 cable.
- Shutdown the Blade system and power the Core’s power supply off.
- Let both Blade and Core remain in Power Off state for 30 seconds.
- After the 30 seconds, Power ON the Core’s supply.
- Plug the Razer Core to your Blade via Thunderbolt cable.
- Power ON your Razer Blade laptop.
Hardware
Will the Razer Core be detected in the device manager if there is no GPU
installed?
Yes, the Razer Core can be detected in Windows Device Manager once a
connection has been established.
You can see the Razer Core in Device Manager listed as “PCI Bridge” under
“System Devices”.
Note : It will not say “Core” or “Razer” within the device manager.
Which GPUs can be used with Razer Core?
Razer Core supports a wide variety of GPUs from both AMD and NVIDIA. We recommend reviewing the list of compatible plug and play graphics processors. Ensure the graphics you select meet all power, size, and additional requirements. Older cards may function, but compatibility and driver support may vary.
Which notebooks are compatible with Razer Core?
Razer Core currently supports the Razer Blade Stealth and Razer Blade. As additional systems adopt Thunderbolt 3 external graphics requirements, we hope to expand support to future devices.
Can Razer Core function when the case is removed?
No, the Razer Core will not function without the case. The Razer Core includes a magnetic sensor inside the chassis that requires the case attached before the Razer Core can be fully utilized.
Can I use the quick release handle to carry the Razer Core?
The quick-release handle is for opening the system only. This should not be used as a carrying handle. Instead, lift from the bottom of the system when transporting Razer Core.
What is the weight and material shell of Razer Core?
The Razer Core is CNC milled out of aluminum and weighs 10.89 lbs.
What Razer Blade models can be charged using a Razer Core?
Currently, there are no Blade models that can charge through the USB-C Thunderbolt.
Can I use the Razer Core without installing a graphics card?
Yes, the Razer Core’s I/O ports including the USB and Ethernet will continue to function without a graphics card installed.
Is there a longer Thunderbolt cable available for the Razer Core?
For maximum performance, the Razer Core includes a .5m active cable that supports speeds up to 40Gbps. Longer Thunderbolt 3 cables are available and sold separately but with reduced speeds of 20Gbps.
What are the specs of the Razer Core?

Aside from the Razer Blades, is the Razer Core compatible with other
Thunderbolt 3 devices?
Thunderbolt 3 external graphics is a new and ever-growing technology. The Intel NUC is the first non-Razer Blade system to ship with support of Thunderbolt 3 external graphics, and we look forward to seeing more soon. Support for third-party devices may vary.
Do Razer Core external graphics enclosures work with the new NVIDIA RTX
desktop graphics cards?
Yes, the following RTX models are supported:
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 Ti
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2070
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2060
Can I connect a Razer Core to my laptop with a USB Type-C port?
While the Thunderbolt data transfer is provided over a standard USB-C physical connection not all systems with USB-C ports will contain a Thunderbolt controller. Refer to your system manufacturer for compatibility details.
How many external displays can I connect with my Razer Core?
The maximum amount of simultaneous displays will vary based on GPU and display resolutions and respective refresh rates.

I just purchased the Razer Core and want to update my Razer Blade Stealth
with the latest Update for Win 10.

Does my Razer Blade Stealth (2016) – Intel 6500U notebook require software
updates to function with Razer Core?
Yes. You need to install these updates for your Razer Blade Stealth (2016) – Intel 6500U to work well with Razer Core.
Note : If you are using an older Operating System on your Razer Blade or Stealth laptop, you may want to update your GPU Switcher Tool to ensure that your system has the latest performance and stability. If you are running Windows 10 version 1803 and later, you don’t need to run the GPU Switcher. Update your Windows 10 to the latest version here to enjoy the benefits of new features and fixes.
Where can I download graphics drivers for Razer Core?
You can download the latest stable drivers from NVIDIA or AMD for use with your compatible graphics card.
