SAFETY

  • By ignoring the safety instructions the manufacturer can not be hold responsible for the damage.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Never move the appliance by pulling the cord and make sure the cord can not become entangled.
  • The appliance must be placed on a stable, level surface.
  • The user must not leave the device unattended while it is connected to the supply.
  • This appliance is only to be used for household purposes and only for the purpose it is made for.
  • This appliance shall not be used by children aged less than 8 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless older than 8 and supervised.
  • To protect yourself against an electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or appliance in the water or any other liquid.
  • WARNING : In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
  • CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.
  • Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Do not use the appliance with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
  • Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
  • Joists, beams and rafters shall not be cut or notched to install the appliance.
  • Please do not install the appliance close to curtains and other combustible materials. This could cause a fire.
  • The appliance shall, under no circumstances, be covered with insulating material or similar material.
  • The heater must be installed at least 1,8m above the floor.
  • The heater must not be located immediately below a socket outlet.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Remove all packaging of the device.
• Check if the voltage of the appliance corresponds to the main voltage of your home. Rated voltage : AC220-240V 50Hz
• Place the base on a flat surface and unscrew the screws.
• Place the rod with the flange on the base, Tighten it with screws.
• Place the plastic cover over the connection of the foot and the rod.
• Place the other two rods on the first rod and tighten these with the screws, make sure the rod with the plastic collar is mounted at the top.
• Mount the heater on the thin rod and tighten the screw.
• Guide the cable along the rod through the 2 cable guidance clips downwards. The device is ready for use.
• If the heater is placed on a wall, the rods and the foot are not necessary.
• Mount the supplied bracket to a solid straight wall.
• Attach the heater to the holder. Keep at least 50 cm free space around the device.
• Place the heater at least 180 cm above the ground.

USE

• Always plug the device into a grounded outlet.
• Place the device in a place with at least 50 cm free space around the unit.
• In case of rain or bad weather never use the device, unplug directly from the outlet and store the appliance in a dry place.
• Make sure that children, people with mental disabilities and pets never come close to the heater. Never touch the heater, it is very hot, you can get very seriously injured!
• Important: Please make sure that the device is installed 100% level. If the device is not level, it will not heat up! This is a safety precaution to prevent the device heating up when it tips over.
• Pull the switch cord to set the desired heating mode.
• The following table lists the different heat settings. For another position pull the cord.
• To switch off the device pull the cord several times until the symbol 0 appears.

• The patio heater is not thermostatically controlled and continues to emit heat until it is switched off. Always keep an eye on the patio heater while it is switched on.
• Attention! when using the device with a low amperage of the electrical network, for example when you are at a camping-site. In position 1 it should be possible to use the device on a low amperage electrical network. But to shut off the device, positions 2 and 3 have to be selected, this can cause an overloaded electrical network.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and wait for the appliance to cool down.
• Clean the appliance with a damp cloth. Never use harsh and abrasive cleaners, scouring pad or steel wool, which damages the device.
• Never clean the heater with water, never immerse it in water or other liquid.
• Regularly remove dirt and vermin behind the grill of the heater with a vacuum cleaner.

ENVIRONMENT

This appliance should not be put into the domestic garbage at the end of its durability, but must be offered at a central point for the recycling of electric and electronic domestic appliances. This symbol on the appliance, instruction manual and packaging puts your attention to this important issue. The materials used in this appliance can be recycled. By recycling of used domestic appliances you contribute an important push to the protection of our environment. Ask your local authorities for information regarding the point of recollection.
