Wall-Mounted Enclosure

Important Safety Instructions

This manual contains instructions and warnings that must be followed during the installation and operation of the product described in this manual. Failure to comply may invalidate the warranty and cause property damage or personal injury.

Keep the enclosure in a controlled indoor environment, away from moisture, temperature extremes, flammable liquids and gasses, conductive contaminants, dust, and direct sunlight. Leave adequate space at the front and rear of the enclosure for proper ventilation. Do not block cover or insert objects into the external ventilation openings of the enclosure.

The enclosure is extremely heavy Use caution when handling the enclosure. Do not attempt to unpack, move or install it unassisted. Use a mechanical device such as a forklift or pallet jack to move the enclosure t the shipping container. Inspect the shipping container and the enclosure for shipping damage. Do not use the enclosure IF it is damaged. Leave the enclosure in the shipping container until it has been moved as close to the final installation location as possible.

Use caution when cutting packing materials. The enclosure may be scratched causing damage not covered by the warranty. Save all packing materials for later use. Repacking and shipping the enclosure without the original packing materials may cause product damage that will void the warranty.

Install the closure in a structurally sound area capable of handling the load, or on a level floor that is able to bear the weight of the enclosure, all equipment that will be ins.11ed in the enclosure and any other enclosures and/or equipment that will be installed nearby. For permanent wall mounting, be sure to securely fasten the enclosure to the building structure before operation. Do not place any object on the enclosure, especially containers of liquid, and do not attempt to stack the enclosures.

Overview

Thank you for purchasing the AEONS enclosure product. The AEONS signature series enclosures accommodate all standard 19-inch rackmount equipment. They feature premier quality, heavy-duty cabinets in various U sizes for quick and easy deployment.

Our enclosures include quick-release doors and side panels for convenient maintenance. Front access doors are reversible for installation flexibility. Front door and side panels are lockable. An optional rolling caster kit (optional for 1SU-22U) is available for easy maneuvering of enclosures.

Assembly Steps

Step 1: Install Bottom Panel and Frames

Install Bottom Panel and Frames

Lay down Bottom Panel (#2) on a flat surface. insert Front and Rear Frames (#3) with large flange oriented to the inside. Ensure that the slots in the center of the frames are facing inward as shown in the detailed view.

Overlay the Horizontal rail (#6) so that the notches interlay with large flanges on the Front and Rear Frames (#3). Be sure to orient the Horizontal rail (#6) so that the flat, cage nut surface is facing inward.

Attach with 8x M8 Hexagon Screws and 8x M8 Flange Nuts.

Step 2: Install Top Panel and Frames

Install Top Panel and Frames

Place the Top Panel (#1) on a flat surface. Turn the assembly over and insert it into the top panel.

Ensure that the Top and Bottom Panels (#1 and #2) are oriented in the same direction.
Overlay the Horizontal rail (#6) so that the notches interlay with large flanges on the Front and Rear Frames (#3). Be sure toorient the Horizontal rail (#6) so that  the flat, cage nut surface is facing inward.

Attach with 8x M8 Hexagon Screws and 8x M8 Flange Nuts.

Step 3: Install Vertical Mounting Rails

Install Vertical Mounting Rails

Install the 4 Vertical Rack Rails (#10) to the horizontal rails (#6) at the desired depth using the Cage Nut Kit provided. When determining the appropriate depth, make sure to consider the equipment that you plan to mount inside the enclosure, and the rail depth is the same on both sides of the cabinet.

Step 4: Install L Type Mounting Bracket

Mount L Brackets (#7) to the Vertical Mounting Rails on each side of the cabinet using the Cage Nut Kit provided.

Note: To mount the L Type Mounting Brackets (#7), the depth between front and back vertical rails should be 11’’ (280mm) for 450mm depth cabinet and 16.9’’ (430mm) for 600mm depth cabinet.)

Step 5: Install Side Panel

Install the two Side Panels (#5) into place using the Side Panel Latches. Once each Side Panel (#5) is attached, test to ensure that each Side Panel Lock locks properly.

Step 6: Install Front Door Lock

Install the Front Door Lock to the Front Door (#4) as shown in the left picture.

To attach the Front Door (#4) to the cabinet, locate the side with two pins. Insert the bottom fixed pin with White Plastic Washer into the door hinge hole. With your thumb, pull down on the top spring pin and slide it into place over the second door hinge hole and release.

NOTE: Each side of the front of the cabinet has door hinge holes; this allows you to choose the door swing orientation.

Step 8: Install Back Panel

Attach the Back Panel (#8) to the cabinet using 6x M4 Screws.

Step 9: Install Hanger Bar

Attach the Hanger Bar (#9) to a wall or other suitable mounting surface using 4 appropriate anchors.

NOTE: Make sure the mounting hooks are facing outwards.

Step 10: Mount the Enclosure

Mount the Enclosure

Fit the cabinet’s 2 mounting notches onto the 2 mounting hooks on the hanger bar. The enclosure should slide down onto the hooks until secure.

After the cabinet hung properly, secure the cabinet to the hanger bar using 2 M4 Screws from inside of cabinet to the holes on the mounting hooks as shown.

Step 11: Install Casters

(Optional and only available for 15U, 18U and 22U versions)

Install Casters

Attach Casters using 16x M6 Self Tapping Screws to Bottom Panel (#2).
