-
Keep these instructions.
-
Heed all warnings.
-
Follow all instructions.
-
Do not use your refrigerator near water.
-
Clean only with a damp cloth.
-
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
-
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the
third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. -
Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where it exits from your refrigerator.
-
Do not attempt to modify or extend the power cord of your refrigerator.
-
Unplug your refrigerator during lightning storms or when it will not be used for long periods of time.

-
Keep ventilation openings, in both your refrigerator enclosure and the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
-
Do not touch the interior of your refrigerator with wet hands. This could result in frostbite.
-
Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
-
Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartment of the refrigerator, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
-
Do not damage the refrigerant circuit when handling, moving, or using your refrigerator.
-
Never allow children to play with, operate, or crawl inside your refrigerator.
Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator:- Take off the door.
- Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.
-
Unplug your refrigerator before carrying out user maintenance on it.
-
If a component part is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similar qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
-
Follow local regulations regarding disposal of your refrigerator due to flammable refrigerant and gas. All refrigeration products contain refrigerants, which under the guidelines of federal law must be removed before disposal. It is the consumer’s responsibility to comply with federal and local regulations when disposing of this product.
-
Your refrigerator is intended to be used in household and similar environments.
-
Do not store or use gasoline or any flammable liquids inside or in the vicinity of your refrigerator.
Grounding requirement
Your refrigerator must be grounded. Your refrigerator is equipped with a cord
having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into
an outlet that is correctly installed and grounded.
Incorrect use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.
Consult a qualified electrician or service person if the grounding

Assembling the door handle and bottle opener
CAUTION: If you lay your refrigerator on its back or side for any length of time, wait for six hours after you stand it up again before you plug it in. Otherwise, you may damage internal components.
You need the following tool to attach the door handle and bottle opener:
- Remove the screw hole cover and screw from the top left side of the cabinet.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to attach the bottle opener on the opposite side of the hinge.
- Align the two screw holes on the handle base with the screw holes on the door, then secure the base to the door with two screws.
- Align the grooves on the handle with the rails on the handle base, then slide the handle into the base.
Installing your refrigerator
Before using your refrigerator
- Remove the exterior and interior packing.
- Let your refrigerator stand upright for approximately four hours before connecting it to power. This reduces the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from incorrect handling during transportation.
- Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water and baking soda solution (two tablespoons of soda in a quart of water) using a soft cloth, then wipe down with a dry cloth.
Finding a suitable location
CAUTION: Your refrigerator isn’t designed for a recessed installation.
- Place your refrigerator on a floor that is strong enough to support it when fully loaded.
- Allow at least 7.9 in. (20.1 cm) of space between the sides of your refrigerator and any surrounding walls, and allow at least 2 in. (5.1 cm) between the back and top of your refrigerator and surrounding walls and ceiling. This allows the correct air ventilation.
- Don’t install your refrigerator on carpeting or a rug.
- Don’t install your refrigerator in a garage or any other outside installation.
- Position your refrigerator away from direct sunlight and sources of heat, such as a stove, heater, or radiator. Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Ambient temperatures below 50° F (10° C) or above 109° F (43° C) hinders the operation of your refrigerator.
- Avoid locating your refrigerator in moist areas.
Providing correct ventilation
Allow at least 7.9 in. (20.1 cm) between the left and right sides of your refrigerator and surrounding walls and at least 2 in. (5.1 cm) between the back and top of your refrigerator and the surrounding wall and ceiling.
Connecting power
Check your local power source. Your refrigerator requires a 110 V ~ 120 V, 60
Hz power supply.
Your refrigerator should be correctly grounded for your safety.
Use a receptacle that accepts the grounding prong. The power cord is equipped
with a 3-prong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard 3-prong
(grounding) wall outlet to minimize the possibility of electric shock hazard
from your refrigerator.
WARNINGS: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical
shock.
- A 15-20 amp fused, grounded electrical supply is required. This provides the best performance and also prevents overloading wiring circuits which could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires.
- Your refrigerator should always be connected to its own individual electrical branch leading directly to the main voltage source or distribution panel.
- Immediately discontinue use if the main power supply line has been damaged. If the supply line is damaged, it must be repaired by a qualified service professional.
- When removing your refrigerator away from the wall, make sure that you don’t roll over or damage the main power supply line.
CAUTIONS:
- Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third ground prong from the supplied power cord.
- Your refrigerator is not designed to be used with an inverter.
- The power cord should be secured behind your refrigerator, and not left exposed or dangling, to prevent accidental injury.
- Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight out from the receptacle.
- Do not use an extension cord with your refrigerator. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near your range. Use of an extension cord can negatively affect the performance of your refrigerator.
Leveling your refrigerator
Your refrigerator must be level in order to function correctly. If your
refrigerator is not leveled during installation, the door may not close or
seal correctly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems.
• Rotate the leveling feet clockwise (to raise) your refrigerator or
counterclockwise (to lower).
Note: To make it easier to adjust the feet, have someone push against the top of your refrigerator to tilt it slightly.
Using your refrigerator
Setting the thermostat
Note: The marks on the knob are the temperature grades, not the exact number of the degrees of temperature.
You can adjust the refrigerator temperature by turning the thermostat knob.
- You can set the thermostat between 1 and 7.
- 1 is the warmest setting.
- 7 is the coldest setting.
- The recommended setting is 4.
- Set the dial to OFF to turn off the cooling function.
The internal temperature of your refrigerator can vary based on ambient temperature, the quantity of items stored, and how frequently the door is opened.
Adjusting the shelf
Your refrigerator has two shelves. The top shelf is adjustable. The bottom shelf is fixed.
- Open the refrigerator door all the way.
- Lift the back of a shelf, then pull it out.
- To reinstall the shelf, align the shelf above the shelf rails with the back of the shelf tilted up. Slide the shelf on to the rails, then lower the back.
Adjusting the door racks
CAUTION: Don’t put too many heavy items in the door racks. You may break the racks.
- Remove all items from a refrigerator door racks.
- While holding the rack with one hand, use the other hand to tap the bottom of the rack up several inches.
- Remove the rack from the door.
- To replace the rack, align the rack in the door, then press down on the rack until it clicks into place.
Maintaining your refrigerator
Your refrigerator is designed for year-round use with only minimal cleaning and maintenance.
When you first receive it, wipe the cabinet with a mild detergent and warm water, then wipe dry with a dry cloth. Do this periodically to keep your refrigerator looking new.
Cleaning your refrigerator
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the finish:
- Don’t use gasoline, benzine, thinner, or other similar solvents.
- Don’t use abrasive cleaners.
- Don’t use sharp objects because they are likely to scratch the surface.
We recommend that you do the following every time you clean your refrigerator to keep it running odor-free and efficiently:
-
Unplug your refrigerator from the power outlet.
-
Remove all food.
-
If you want to remove the shelf, see Adjusting the shelf on page 12.
-
Clean the door, handles, and cabinet surfaces with a mild detergent, then rinse with warm water using a wrung-out sponge or cloth.
-
Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in a solution of one quart of lukewarm water to two tablespoons of baking soda, then rinse with warm water using a wrung-out sponge or cloth.
-
Clean the shelves with a mild detergent and soft cloth, then rinse with warm water.
-
Make sure that you keep the door gaskets (seals) clean so that the door seals tightly. Use a clean towel and water to wipe every part of the door seal. This helps your refrigerator run efficiently.
CAUTION: Make sure that the door gaskets are completely dry before you plug your refrigerator into the power outlet. -
Dry all surfaces and removable parts before putting them back into place.
-
Plug your refrigerator into the power outlet.
Defrosting your refrigerator
Your refrigerator is “frost-free” and doesn’t require defrosting.
Shutting down your refrigerator
- Turn off your refrigerator and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Remove all food.
- Clean your refrigerator.
- Leave the door open slightly to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odor.
CAUTION: Use extreme caution with children. Your refrigerator shouldn’t be accessible to child’s play. If a child is trapped inside your refrigerator, the child may suffocate.
Moving your refrigerator
- Turn off your refrigerator and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Remove all food.
- Securely tape down all loose items inside your refrigerator.
- Tape the doors shut.
- Make sure that your refrigerator stays in the upright position during transportation.
Tips on saving energy
- Locate your refrigerator in the coolest area of the room, away from heat producing appliances or heating ducts and out of direct sunlight.
- Let hot foods cool before placing them in your refrigerator. Overloading your refrigerator forces the compressor to run longer. Foods that freeze too slowly may lose quality or spoil.
- Wrap foods correctly and wipe containers dry before placing them in your refrigerator. This cuts down on frost build-up inside your refrigerator.
- Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches.
- Don’t use aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper toweling to line shelves. Liners interfere with cold air circulation and make your refrigerator less efficient.
Troubleshooting
CAUTION: Don’t try to repair your refrigerator yourself. Doing so invalidates the warranty.
