FEATURE CHART

We would like to thank you for using Freezer Non CFC LG. This new freezer is manufactured with great care and using the latest technology and we believe that you will be fully satisfied with its performance and reliability. Before operating your set, please read this booklet carefully. Inside you will find many helpful hints on how to use and maintain your freezer properly that will ensure trouble free use of the freezer for many years to come.

PLACING AND LEVELING

  1. Place your freezer in a location that suits your working convenience.
  2. Avoid placing unit in a narrow recess or near any heat sources, direct sunlight or moisture.
  3. Air must circulate properly around your appliance to ensure efficient operation. Allow at least a clearance of 10 cm distance from the wall at the rear and 30cm distance between the upper wall of the product
  4. To avoid any vibration, the unit must be leveled side to side. The front should be slightly higher than than the rear to aid in door closing. Leveling screws can be turned easily by tipping the cabinet slightly and adjustment can be made with your finger to raise or lower the cabinet.
  5. The appliance should be so positioned that the supply plug is accessible for quick disconnection when accident happens.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION

  1. Before operating this appliance please review this list :

    • a. In order to prevent possible electric shock cause by the current leakage, this appliance must be grounded.
    • b. Please connect the ground wire (installed on back side of cabinet) to ground or water pipe from steel.
  2. Do not use an extension cords
    If possible, connect the freezer to its own individual electrical outlet and do not use an extension cord.

  3. Starting
    When your freezer is first installed, allow it to stabilize at normal operating temperature for 30 minutes. If operation are interupted, wait 5 minutes before restarting.

  4. Suply cord replacement
    If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced By the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard

  5. Grounding
    Improper use of the grounding plug can result in electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or service person if the grounding instruction are not completely understood, or if you have doubts on whether the appliance is properly grounded.

  6. Vacation time
    During average long vacation, it is better to not operate the freezer. Remove all food, disconnect the power cord, clean the interior thoroughly, and leave door open to prevent odor formation.

  7. Power failure
    Most power failure that are corrected in an hour or two will not effect your freezer temperature. However you should minimize the number of door openings while the power is off.

  8. Cleaning
    Unplug the power cord from the power outlet for cleaning or other requirements. Never touch it with wet hands Because you can get an electric shock or be hurt.

STORING FOODS

This instrument is very suitable for keeping half frozen food and fresh food to he frozen “F” area : frozen area “Si, S2” area : half frozen area

Caution :

  1. On “Sl, S2” : Do not place ice cream and milk
  2. On “S3” (temperature is not warmer than 21 °F (-6 °C). If you want to defrost, make sure the tray drip is installed properly.
  3. It is very important for placing all the foods properly otherwise every increasing of the temperature when defrosting, will shorten life time of the food.
  4. When storing the food, cover it with vinyl wrap or store in container with a lid. This prevents moisture from evaporating, and helps food to keep its taste and nutrients.
  5. Allow hot food to cool prior to storing, placing hot food in freezer could spoil other food and lead to higher energy consumption.
  6. Do not store bottles in the freezer – they may break when frozen.
  7. Do not refreeze food that has been thawed. This causes loss of taste and nutrient
  8. Never keep too much food in door rack because they must push against by freezer rack so that the door cannot be fully closed.
  9. A void open the unit door recently and try not adding the food while frozen processing. Opening the door lets warm air enter the freezer, and cause temperature to rise.
  10. Do not store carbonate package and carbonate drink to be frozen.
  11. Do not touch any cold surface with hand especially when still wet. For ice, it shall not directly be used, due to can burn the skin.
  12. Freezer will keep food temperature along 1-2 hours while electricity doesn’t work out, as long the door still closed. But if the situation predicted takes longer time, just take out the food. For fresh food, cook it before restored.

STORING FOODS

  • Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
  • If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mould developing within the appliance.
  • Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the freezer, so that it is not in contact with or drip onto other food.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL & DEFROSTING

  1. TEMPERATURE CONTROL
    Freezer temperature will change according to stored food quantity how recent you open the unit door and room temperature. There will be “0, MIN, MID, MAX” mark on temperature controller knob to enhance you to chose the requirement temperature. “0” position not operate. “MIN” position : highest frozen temperature, warmest area. “MID” position : best temperature for keeping the food on Fridge “F” area. “MAX” position : lowest frozen temperature, coldest

  2. DEFROSTING
    You should do defrosting regularly, in order to keep the unit works efficiently. – If you want to do defrosting, just turn the knob to “0” position so defrost water will run out to tray drip. It is better to do total defrosting regularly one a month by unplug power cord from the power outlet – For faster defrosting, place 1 or 2 pan with warm water on the unit. – Always wrap the food when defrosting otherwise straightway consume the food. – Setting knob temperature control to original position after defrosting finish.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

  1. Please read this guide thoroughly before operating this unit.
  2. This freezer is just for domestic used otherwise it will avoid warranty.
  3. Any improper operation or damage, just take out the plug and call the service.
  4. Always unplug power cord when defrosting, cleaning and fixing the unit
  5. If you move the freezer, remove or securely fasten down all loose items inside the freezer. To avoid damaging the height adjusting screws, turn them all the way into the base.
  6. Close the unit door completely to get best cooling result.

Do not ever use sharp and metal tools to remove ice and frost or to take out ice and food on evaporator. A punctured evaporator will cause serious problems and avoid warranty.

GENERAL INFORMATION

VACATION TIME

During average length vacations, you will probably find it best to leave the freezer in operation. Place freezable items in freezer for longer life. When you plan to be away for an extended period, remove all food, disconnect the power cord, clean the interior thoroughly, and leave each door OPEN to prevent odor formation.

POWER FAILURE

Most power failures are corrected in an hour or two and will not affect your freezer temperatures. However, you should minimize the number of door openings while the power is off. During power failures of longer duration, place a block of dry ice on top of your frozen packages.

DRY ICE WARNING

When using dry ice, provide adequate ventilation. Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide (CO:). When it vaporizes, it can displace oxygen, causing dizziness, light-headedness, unconsciousness, and death by suffocation.
Open a window and do not breathe the vapors.

IF YOU MOVE

If you move, empty the freezer (freezer)completely and wash a mild solution of baking soda and water. (2 TBS soda to 1 quart water) Be sure the soda is completely dissolved to avoid scratching the inside of the freezer (freezer). Secure any loose items, such as racks, bins, ice trays, etc. Do not try to move a loaded freezer.

ANTI-CONDENSATION PIPE

The outside wall of the freezer cabinet may sometimes get warm, especially just after Anti-Condensation installation. Pipe Don’t be alarmed. This is due to the anti-condensation pipe, which pumps hot refrigerant to prevent sweating on the outer cabinet wall.
