BEFORE STARTING

  • Check that the security protocol of the modem/router is set at “WPA”/”WPA2″. The “WEP” protocol is not supported by the camera, because it is not reliable enough.
  • Check that the 2.4G (2.4 GHz) wireless connection is active on the modem. The SG (5 GHz) connection is not currently supported.
  • Insert the microSD memory card only after the camera has been synchronized.
  • The microSD memory card must be formatted in the “FAT32” mode, its capacity cannot exceed 128 GB, and it must be category 6 or higher.

INSTALLATION

Installation of the App

iOS

  • Open the “App Store®”, search for the “Smart Life – Smart Living®” App and install it

  • App and install it
    As an alternative, use the following QR codes:

The “Smart Life®” App is free and compatible with any device which supports iOS® 9.0 or higher and Android® 4.4 or higher.

Installation of the Camera

Connect the “Security” camera to the electrical current.
A blue LED will light up on the front portion.
Open the “Smart Life®” App and follow the instructions on the screen. During configuration, the LED will appear in the following states:

  1. Steadily lit > System initialized
  2. Blinking slowly > Synchronization mode active
  3. Blinking quickly > Connection to modem/router underway
  4. Steadily lit > Installation process completed. The camera is functioning properly

Functions and use of the “Smart Life®” application (depends on the version installed)

  1. “MYHOME”
    This page is for managing devices connected to the Smart Life” application. To add a new device to the list, press the “+” in the upper-right portion. Press the key on the camera (if the factory settings have been kept: “Superior Security – iCMOOl”) to access the main operating page.
    The icon in the upper right (3 dots) can be used to open the settings page and, for example, modify the name of the device, permit sharing with other users, activate the “alarm” function (listed on the menu as “Settings for detecting movement”) or to remove the camera from the account.
    Attention: The wireless connection must be active ta access the camera with the App. If the modem/router is turned off, then Smart devices cannot be controlled.

  2. “PROFILE”/”MI”
    To access the configuration section, press the icon on the menu bar on the bottom-right. Once inside, press “Home management” to add, modify or remove the settings (“Homes”) into which the account can be divided for more effective management of devices. Control of the “Home” can also be shared with other users (“Family members” or “members”). An administrator of the “Home” can add or remove devices, scenarios or members or delete a home (“Delete family”).

Connect Your “Security” Camera to the “Smart Life®” Account

  1. RAPID MOOE (RECOMMENDED)
    Connect the “Security” camera to the electrical current using the power supply found in the package. Open the “Smart Life®” application and, after access it with the proper credentials, press the”+” in the upper right or press “ADD DEVICES” in the centre of the screen. Select “Security & Sensors” from the left column and then, from the list that opens up, press “Smart Camera”.
    On the new screen press the key “Next Step” and then select the wireless network for the connection, entering the access credentials and confirming. Continue following the instructions on the screen until a QR code appears.
    Turn “Security” camera on and off three times in a row (if there is no switch, then simply connect and disconnect the plug three times). The LED will start blinking and the camera will begin moving
    (ATTENTION: there may be a wait of up to 30 seconds before this happens). If the LED does not blink, check to see that the power supply is functioning properly and repeat the steps.
    As soon as “Security” camera has returned to the original position, check that the LED is still blinking and then position the QR code shown on the screen in front of the lens (at a distance of approximately15-20 cm), until the camera sends out an acoustic signal. Press the “I Heard a Prompt” key and wait for the connection to be completed (10-60 seconds).
    If the synchronization does not take place correctly, repeat the procedure.

  2. APMODE
    The AP mode can be accessed only if rapid mode fails to set up the configuration, in which case a screen display will appear, making it possible another attempt with the mode just concluded (“Try again”) or a change of modes (“See details”, followed by “Use AP mode”).
    Next follow the instructions on the screen:

    • Turn on the camera
    • Press the “RESET” button on the device and hold it down for approximately 5 seconds. Once the LED blinks, the procedure can continue
    • Press the blue screen key “Confirm indicator rapidly blink”
    • Select the desired wireless network and confirm.

Once the connection with the modem/router has been established, the telephone must be connected directly to the camera. Press “Reconnect” to access the settings of your smartphone and establish the connection.
The camera will appear on the list as “Superior Security- iCM001”

FUNCTIONS

  • LIVE VIDEO – Once the camera has been connected, just click on its icon in the “Smart Life®” application to access live video viewing, which is available in both high definition (HD) and the standard format (SD). By moving a finger on the video screen, the camera can be rotated horizontally and vertically.
  • RECORDING – By pushing the right key while in the App, a video can be recorded and the saved either in the camera’s expandable memory (not included) or on your smartphone (in which case the notification that appears on the screen must be accepted, allowing the App to access the gallery). To view the videos saved in the microSD memory, select the “Play” key at the center of the screen. To return to the “Live Video” mode, press the “Preview” button.
  • MOVEMENT – The camera can be moved either by moving a finger along the screen or by using the “Direction” function inside the App.
  • MICROPHONE -The microphone function can be activated by pressing the “Talk” icon. Using the smartphone as a receiver, the voice will be reproduced by the “Security” camera.
  • NIGHT MODE – The night mode is activated/deactivated automatically, to ensure optimal vision of the surrounding environment at all times.
  • ALARM – The “Security” camera uses infrared sensors which make it possible, when the alarm function is selected on the App, for the user to be notified on his or her smartphone should a movement be detected inside the field of view.

SAFETY AND SECURITY INFORMATION

  • The “Security” camera is meant for use in closed environments. It should not make contact with and/or be near rain, fire or electrical discharges. The ranges of humidity and temperature it supports are, respectively:
    10%~90%; 0°C~+55°C

  • Though the “Security” camera is designed and produced to guarantee the safety and security of the environment in which it is used, damage may still occur due to circumstances outside of normal use.

  • It is recommended that only extremely secure passwords be used (at least 8 alphanumerical characters, of which at least one should be a capital letter and one a symbol).

  • Firmware updates must not be interrupted, or the camera could be damaged.
