Installing/changing tips:

Pyrography, also known as wood burning, means “writing with fire”. It is an art form in which wood is transformed by using heat. Also if the technique is applied to other materials, such as leather or plastic, it is called pyrography.

With pyrography, wood can be made darker. Different colors can be created by adjusting the temperature of the wood burner pen. The more heat is applied, the darker the color of the wood. Through the differences in color, usually from brown to black, images can be made and text can be written.

Tips for beginners:
  1. Practice holding and using the wood burner pen;
  2. Learn more about the techniques of pyrography and how to use the different tips of pyrography;
  3. Practice burning out different even tones (colors) on wood;
  4. Understand the impact of temperature and speed on the color that is finally burned on the wood;
Pyrographyfor beginners:
  1. Start by burning simple patterns. You can do this by using the provided templates or by first drawing a sketch with a pencil and then using the wood burner pen;
  2. Practice making points and lines on surfaces with the wood burner pen. Try the different tips and understand their function;
  3. Practice the combination of fires and colors. Generally, do not use more than 3 colors in your creation, and make sure that the most important part of your creation is best seen;
Tools you might need:
  1. Sandpaper (to polish the wood)
  2. Drawing or coloring pencil;
  3. Wood;
  4. Wood burner pen with adjustable temperature;
  5. Various tips for wood burner pen;
  6. Various types of templates;
Instructionswoodburning:
  1. Take a piece of wood, a pencil, and your wood burner pen;
  2. Use a pencil to draw the wanted lines and contours on the wood;
  3. Use the wood burner pen to burn the drawn lines (counter-clockwise);
  4. Different depths and lines can be created by applying more or less pressure or by burning longer or shorter;
Instructions for wood burner pen:
  1. To switch on the wood burner; put the plug in the socket;
  2. Set the temperature by turning the knob at the bottom of the pin;
  3. Hold the pin against the wood to test if the desired temperature has been reached;
  4. When the desired temperature is reached, wait a while until the attachment is also warm;
  5. To turn off the wood burner; unplug the power cord;
Attention!

Improper use may result in burns or damage. Please follow the instructions below carefully:

  1. Do not use the wood burner pen longer than 30 minutes continuously to avoid overheating of the wood burner pen;
  2. Do not touch the metal parts of the heating tip to prevent burning;
  3. If you need to replace the tip during use, switch off the power first and replace it after cooling down;
  4. Do not press too hard with the wood burner to avoid damage or deformation;
  5. Switch off the power first before unplugging and put the pen in a place out of the reach of children;
