STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Replace your filter every 4 months or 100 gallons to achieve optimal performance and prevent bacteria and fungus growth in your filter.
  • Keep your unused filters in a cool, dark, and dry place until you need them.

NOTE: This filter should not be used with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why are there black specks in the water?
A: It’s normal for black carbon particles to appear on the outside of your filter. This happens when the filter is jarred in shipping. It’s safe. Flushing the filter before use will remove the carbon dust.
Q: If I do not change my filter every 6 months, can this damage the system?
A: Yes. You must replace the filter every 6 months or sooner if water flow is reduced or if there is heavy sediment/rust sediment. Filters left in longer will fatigue, degrading the filter performance.
Q: Do I need to flush the filter before using?
A: Yes. It is highly recommended you flush the filter before using. Water filters are made from advanced coconut carbon block, so there are some carbon fines in the filter. You need to flush firstly to remove those carbon fines to get clean water.
