IMKEY-01 Hardware Wallet User Manual
Introduction
ImKey is a safe and easy-to-use hardware wallet with built-in military-grade
CC EAL6+ security chip, private key offline storage, offline signature and
good user experience to protect your digital assets. It supports digital asset
management such as BTC, ETH, EOS, and Cosmos.

- Power/ Cancel button: power/ return/ cancel;
- Up button: to move up in the display/ previous page;
- Down button: to move down in the display/ next page;
- OK button: to confirm actions or enter the menu page;

Security Specification
- Set a strong security PIN code;
- Copy the binding code accurately and keep it in a safe place;
- Due to security concerns, it is recommended to create a new wallet when using imKey for the first time;
- Copy the mnemonic phrase accurately and back it up. Never leak the mnemonic phrase. You can never retrieve your assets once leaked or lost your mnemonic;
- After creating and backing up the wallet, the mnemonic phrase will not be viewable again, so make sure that you have already back it up properly;
- Neither recommend to restore wallet with the mnemonic phrase from an online wallet, nor recommend to import the mnemonic phrase generated by imKey into other networked devices, to avoid any accidental risks leading to asset loss.
Important Information
PIN Code
- The PIN code is a security measure to deter unwanted access from outsiders;
- The PIN code consists of 6 to 8 digits, with numbers ranging from 0-9;
- The PIN code is set upon wallet creation or recovery, the same PIN code is required for verification purposes when turning on the device;
- 5 consecutive input errors of the PIN code will lead to device reset.
Binding Code
- The binding code is used for binding imKey with the imToken App, preventing unauthorized access;
- The binding code consists of 8 random numbers and letters;
- Please ensure a proper back-up to facilitate the future binding of imKey.
Mnemonic Phrase
- The Mnemonic phrase is generated upon wallet creation and is essential for wallet recovery. Private keys are derived from the Mnemonic phrase to be used to sign transactions;
- The Mnemonic phrase is made up of 12/18/24 English words;
- Please write down the Mnemonic phrase on the backup card provided and refrain from storing the Mnemonic phrase on any devices connected to the internet;
- Backing up the Mnemonic phrase using mobile devices connected to the internet to store or take photos expose the assets to unnecessary risk of loss;
- The Mnemonic phrase can be used to restore the wallet if imKey malfunctioned or is misplaced.
Device Rese
Resetting the imKey device will erase sensitive information stored including private keys and PIN code. Please ensure that the Mnemonic phrase of the wallet is securely backed up before resetting the device.
- 5 consecutive input errors for the PIN code;
- Selecting “Reset” under “Settings” in the menu, the reset progress will be initiated after the correct PIN code is input.

Connection
ImKey supports Bluetooth and USB connections. You may use imKey with companion APP imToken downloaded from Google Play or iOS APP Store.
Connect imKey to a phone through Bluetooth
- Make sure you have either created or restored a wallet on your imKey.
- Launch the official mobile application imToken in an Android or iOS phone and select option “pairing to imKey hardware wallet”. Turn on your imKey device.
- Your imKey device will be found and shown in the searching page. The searching page would automatically switch to the pairing page. A random 6-digit PIN will be displayed on imKey device.
Use it to pair the wallet. When you finished, your device will be connected to your phone through Bluetooth.
Battery Life
After full charge, imKey can be routinely used for about 4 weeks and continuously operated for about 80 minutes.
Languages
mKey currently supports Chinese and English, more languages will be supported in future versions.
Precautions
- Once being activated or used for trial, imKey products will be greatly devalued, so such products will not be subject to the 7-day no-hassle return policy.
- Please refrain from using imKey under extreme environment, including extreme temperature, powerful ultraviolet light, strong electromagnetic or static influence, interference with fire, water, steam or chemical substances.
- Please refrain from using imKey under water or avoid damaging the physical hardware. Please wipe the device dry before using if imKey got in contact with water.
