INSTALLATION

  1. Open the rear doors and locate the plastic covers that cover the rear of the vehicle taillight on each side. Using a trim panel puller, carefully remove the three covers on each side. The first cover will expose the taillight harness. The two upper covers will assist with routing ABC.

  2. On the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, locate the vehicle’s taillight wiring harness. The taillight wiring harness will have a connection point, on both sides, matching the ends of the T-One®. T-Connector. Separate this connector, being careful not to break the locking tabs. All connector surfaces should be clean and free of dirt B.

  3. Locate a flat surface near the taillight area inside the vehicle and mount the T-One® T-Connector’s black box module, to prevent damage or rattling.

  4. On the driver’s side, insert the T-One® T-Connector end, with the yellow wire, between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock it into place. Be careful not to damage the locking tabs and be sure that connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place.

  5. Route the T-Connector end with the green wire up through the inner channel to the roof area of the vehicle. Following existing wiring, the route over to the passenger side concealing the wire behind the plastic wire covers when possible. Secure to existing wiring using cable ties provided C.

  6. Route the wires down through the holes that were exposed in step 1. Repeat step 4 on the passenger side with the T-Connector end containing the
    green wire.

  7. On the driver’s side, locate a suitable grounding point near the black box such as an existing ground stud, or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (Do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area.
    CAUTION
Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.

  8. From inside the vehicle, connect the black 12 ga. wire and the black wire from the T-One® T-Connector black box with the supplied yellow butt connector. Route the wire up through the channel to the roof area of the vehicle and follow the existing wire. Route wire to the forward towards the driver seat. Conceal the wire behind the plastic wire cover when possible. Secure to existing wiring using cable ties provided D.

  9. Continue to route the wire behind the trim panel next to the driver seat to the floor of the vehicle, being careful to avoid areas that would cut or pinch the wire E.

  10. Gain access to the vehicle battery underneath the driver’s side floor area. Remove the three screws holding the trim threshold in place. Pull the back floor cover to expose the metal battery cover. Remove the screws and pull off the metal cover to expose the battery FGH.

  11. Continue to route the black wire to the battery underneath the floor covering following the existing wiring.

  12. Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable H. If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided). After cutting the fuse holder wire I, attach the ring terminal and secure to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable J. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire, using the yellow butt connector (provided).
    WARNING
Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery.

  13. Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15 amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 12.

All connections must be complete for the T-One® T-Connector to function properly. Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle’s electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition.

  14. Secure the remainder of the T-One® T-Connector harness with the cable ties provided, to prevent damage or rattling, and be careful to avoid any areas that would pinch, cut or melt the wire.

  15. Replace the battery cover, floor coverings, rear plastic covers, and all other items removed during the installation.
