MAINTENANCE
Only clean the lumiere when it is switched off and cooled. The maintenance of luminaires is limited to the surface. In this case, no moisture should enter the area around the connections or live parts. For cleaning, use a soft moistened cloth with a mild detergent. Allow the luminaire to dry completely before cleaning.
USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
In general, through mechanical or thermal loads, lumieres can cause injury. In
order to minimize the risk of injury, ensure that floor lamps and table lamps
are secure and mount wall luminaires out of the reach of children.
Do not operate the luminaire if the luminaire itself (or its power cable) has
visible damage.
Electrical connections should only be carried out by specialist staff. The
installation instructions should be followed in accordance with the national
rules concerning the fitting of appliances.
In order to avoid hazards, a damaged external flexible cable should only be
exchanged by a specialist technician.
The requirements of the installation site concerning the IP safety class of
the lumiere must be followed.
In general, do not mount luminaires on a moist or conductive substrate.
Warning! Before starting the installation work, ensure that the mains
lead is not carrying current (deenergised).
Designation of the connection terminals
- L = Phase,
- N = Neutral lead,
- = Earthing conductor.
When installing, ensure that the leads are not damaged.
If silicone piping is enclosed with the lumiere, the piping must be put over
the mains lead in order to protect against heat.
All safety and and design glassware fitted on the lumiere must be applied in
perfect condition. Otherwise, the lumiere should not be operated.
Warning! The luminaire will be hot in the area around the bulb. Do not
exchange the bulb when the device is switched on.
The stated maximum wattage of each individual lighting unit should not be
exceeded. When replacing the bulb, please observe the stated maximum values on
the lighting units or in the instruction manual.
Before using the lumiere for the first time, make sure the bulb sits securely
in the holder.
The quartz glass of the halogen bulb should not be touched with bare hands
(this does not apply to cold light reflector bulbs with a front glass). If
this happens though inadvertently, the quartz glass should be wiped with
alcohol before switching the bulb on.
The lumiere is suitable for indoor use.
The lumiere is suitable for outdoor use.
Safety class I:
In order to guarantee the safety of the luminaire, this lumiere must be
connected to the earth lead terminal with the earth lead.
Safety class II:
There is no opportunity to connect the safety lead. The safety of the
luminaire is guaranteed using special insulation measures.
Safety class III:
The luminaire is designed for an extra low voltage and/or a low voltage.
Warning! Risk of an electric shock. Light source coverings should not be opened as conductive parts will be exposed.
In order to avoid overheating, the minimum distance to the illuminated surface or combustible materials (in metres) should be observed.
COOL BEAM
As a spare bulb, only use bulbs which do not have ‚cool beam‘ qualities (no
cold light reflector bulbs).
The use of these cold light reflector bulbs can lead to the bulbs and/or the fastening surface becoming overheated.
