WARNING

ADULT ASSEMBLY REQUIRED.

Choking hazard to children under the age of 3 years – contains small parts prior to assembly. All fasteners should be fully tightened.

Children should not handle parts, including the battery and electrical components, or help with assembling the vehicle.

BATTERY CHARGING

6V battery must be fully charged before use.

• Red Light: Charging – Do not ride.
• Green Light: Fully Charged – Ready to ride.
• Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours.

1. Only use the provided Radio Flyer 6 volt charger to charge the 6 volt battery. Power source or wall outlet must be 120V 50/60Hz. If the wall outlet is controlled by an on/off switch ensure that the switch is on.
2. Charge the battery after every use.
3. Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours. Failure to follow these instructions may damage your battery and will void your warranty.
4. Once the battery is completely charged, disconnect the charger from the wall outlet and remove the charger plug from the car.
5. The battery does not need to be removed from the vehicle. Keep the battery in the rear compartment when charging.
6. Before charging the battery, examine the battery case for cracks and other damage which may cause sulfuric acid to leak. If damage is detected, please contact Radio Flyer Customer Service immediately and do not use the product any further.

Volume Adjustment

Volume level can be changed at any time by removing the seat, adjusting the volume slide switch, and then replacing the seat.

• High volume

• Low volume.

• Off

TROUBLESHOOTING:

PROBLEM: Vehicle runs but sounds are not working:

• Volume Setting: Confirm the volume slide switch is not set to “Off”. Set slide switch to low or high volume to hear music.
• Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 6.

CAUTION: TO AVOID BATTERY LEAKAGE

• DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
• DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries.
• DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
• DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
• DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.
• Different types of batteries should not be mixed.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
• Exhausted batteries should be removed from the toy.
• Dispose of batteries safely.
• Batteries to be inserted with the correct polarity

Pairing

ATTENTION: Confirm that parent remote control is paired to vehicle:

If car does NOT move forward, your parent remote control is NOT paired to your vehicle. Continue to Step 16.

To pair parent remote control to vehicle:

1. Begin with car in the off position

: OFF

2. Press and hold the “Backward” button and “Emergency Stop” button at the same time. The blue LED on the front of the parent remote control will blink.
   

3. While the blue light on the remote control is blinking, turn the car on.

: ON

4. The blue light on the remote control will stop flashing when the pairing is complete. To test if pairing is complete, follow step 13.
   

To preserve battery life

Turn off both the car and remote after each use.

• Maximum weight 43.0 lbs (19.5 kg).
• RISK OF FIRE: Do not bypass. Replace only with the Radio Flyer charger and battery provided for this product.

• Read the safety instructions on the battery.
• Examine the battery, charger, and all connections for excessive wear or damage before each use. Do not use if damage or wear is found. Replace immediately.
• Always secure the battery using the battery retainer.
• Only carry the battery by holding onto the main casing.
• Never modify the electrical system.
• Use only Radio Flyer battery and charger specifically meant for this product.
• Do not use Radio Flyer components in other battery operated vehicles/toys.
• Do not touch motor after prolonged periods of use. Motor housing may be hot. Handle carefully.
• This battery can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to: www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

• The battery contains corrosive acid that can cause blindness or burns. Contact physician immediately if exposed.

VEHICLE CARE

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. It is the responsibility of the adult who assembles this product to properly install all parts included in the carton. These instructions are valuable.
2. Check nuts and bolts often and tighten if necessary.
3. Any parts showing evidence of wear should be replaced immediately.
4. Check all screws and their protective coverings regularly and tighten as required. Check plastic parts on a regular basis for cracks or broken pieces.
5. During snowy or rainy weather, the vehicle should be stored inside.
6. Do not operate the vehicle in wet or snowy conditions.
7. Do not clean the vehicle by spraying with a hose. Water or moisture in the motors, battery, or electrical components can cause component failure.
8. A non-wax furniture polish can be used to clean plastic parts. Do not spray the vehicle with a hose or submerge in water.

GUIDELINES FOR SAFE DRIVING:

1. Before children use this vehicle, an adult should carefully evaluate the driving area as well as the child’s ability to drive the vehicle safely. Teach appropriate safety rules to your child before allowing operation of this vehicle. These rules should also be reviewed with other children who want to drive the vehicle.

2. Avoid contact with moving/rotating parts, such as the motor, gear box, and wheels.
   Contact with these parts can cause serious injury.

3. Do not operate the vehicle when it’s positioned on its side or upside-down.

4. Do not operate the vehicle near flammable vapors (gasoline, paint thinner, acetone, liquid wax, etc.) as the electrical switch emits an internal spark, which could cause an explosion or fire.

5. To prevent unsupervised use of the vehicle, disconnect the battery when the vehicle is not in use. See assembly step 5.

6. Never allow the vehicle to be used if the seat is not connected properly.

BATTERY CARE:

• The battery must be handled by adults only.
  The battery is heavy and contains sulfuric acid.

• If the battery begins to leak, avoid contact with the leaking acid and place the battery in a plastic bag. If acid comes in contact with skin, eyes, or is internally ingested contact a physician immediately. See section titled “Battery Disposal” for proper disposal instructions.

• Never allow the battery to discharge completely. Battery should be charged before it is completely drained.

• Charge the battery before storing the vehicle.

• Fully charge the battery at least once per month, even if the product hasn’t been used. Leaving the battery in a discharged state can shorten the life of the battery.

• Charge the battery after each use, regardless of how long the vehicle was used.

• Store the battery in temperatures between 35 °F (1.7 °C) and 77 °F (25.0 °C) for optimal performance.

• Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours. Failure to follow these instructions may damage your battery and will void your warranty.

BATTERY DISPOSAL:

1. Recycle or dispose of non-spillable sealed lead-acid battery in an environmentally sound manner.
2. Do not dispose of your lead-acid battery in a fire. The battery may explode or leak.
3. Do not dispose of your lead-acid battery in your regular household trash. The incineration, landfilling, or mixing of sealed lead-acid batteries with household trash is prohibited by law in most areas.
4. Return an exhausted battery to a federal or state approved lead-acid battery recycler, such as a local seller of automotive batteries. Contact your local waste management officials for other information regarding the environmentally sound collection, recycling and disposal of lead-acid batteries. If you live in the State of Florida or the State of Minnesota, it is prohibited by law for anyone to throw away lead-acid batteries in the municipal waste stream

Parent Remote Control Out of Range| Bring parent remote control within 60.0 feet (18.3 m) of vehicle. If you are within 60.0 feet (18.3 m) of vehicle and vehicle is not responding, replace remote control batteries.
Undercharged Battery| Charge the battery. Battery should be charged before first use. Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours. Check battery connections during charging. Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 5. Make sure wall outlet power is “ON.”
Loose Wire/Connector| Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 5.
Tripped Thermal Fuse/Switch| Thermal switch may have tripped because the vehicle was overloaded or the driving conditions were too severe. Once the switch/fuse has tripped, release the button on the steering wheel and wait 15 seconds before operating the vehicle again. To avoid tripping the fuse, do not overload the vehicle by exceeding the 43.0 lb (19.5 kg) maximum weight capacity. Do not pull anything behind the vehicle or drive up hills as it will trip the fuse. Do not run into fixed objects, which can cause the wheels to stop spinning and ultimately trip the fuse.
Old Battery| Improper care and charging may lead to a shorter battery life. Please contact Radio Flyer customer service for replacement parts.
Electrical Switch Damage| The electrical switch may have become corroded due to water or moisture. Contact Radio Flyer Customer Service and provide pictures of damaged components.
Defective Motor| Call Radio Flyer Customer Service for additional support.
Short Run Time (Less than 35 Minutes)| Not Powering Vehicle OFF after Each Use| Turn vehicle power switch ”ON” before each use, and turn power switch “OFF” after each use
Undercharged Battery| Charge the battery. Battery should be charged before first use. Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours. Check battery connections during charging. Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 5. Make sure wall outlet power is “ON.”
Overcharged Battery| The battery should not be charged for more than 18 hours. Charging for periods greater than 18 hours can cause damage to the battery life.
Old Battery| Improper care and charging may lead to a shorter battery life. Please contact Radio Flyer customer service for replacement parts.
Vehicle is Running Slow| Vehicle is Overloaded| Maximum weight capacity = 43.0 lb (19.5 kg). Overloading the vehicle will cause lower speeds.
 | Driving Conditions are Too Severe| Driving on hard level ground is preferred. Driving on an incline will decrease the speed of the vehicle
 | Undercharged Battery| Charge the battery. Battery should be charged before first use. Never charge the battery longer than 18 hours. Check battery connections during charging. Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 5. Make sure wall outlet power is “ON.”
 | Old Battery| Improper care and charging may lead to a shorter battery life. Please contact Radio Flyer customer service for replacement parts.
 | Speed Select Switch is Set to Speed 1| Select Speed 2. See assembly step 10.
Vehicle Won’t Run When the Steering Wheel Button is Depressed| Vehicle is Not Turned ON| Make sure vehicle power switch located on the back of the vehicle is “ON.”
Loose Wire/Connector| Check all wires and connectors. Make sure that they are connected properly. See assembly step 5.
Electrical Switch Damage| The electrical switch may have become corroded due to water or moisture. Contact Radio Flyer Customer Service and provide pictures of damaged components.
