WARNINGS

  •  For your safety, this appliance complies with the applicable standards and regulations or com-mercial (Low Voltage, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Environmental Directives, etc.)
  •  The warranty will be invalid in the event of damage arising from incorrect use.
  •  Do not place your appliance directly beneath a wall socket.
  •  Do not operate your appliance in a dusty room or if there is a risk of fire.
  •  Each time before use, check that in general the appliance is in good condition, as well as the plug and the cord.
  •  Never insert any objects inside the appliance (e.g.: needles)
  •  If the power cord is damaged, it must be changed by the manufacturer, the After Sales Service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid any danger.
  •  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safe-ty. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  Do not pull the power cord or the appliance, even to unplug it from the wall socket.
  •  Completely unwind the cord each time before use.
  •  This product has been designed for domestic use only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the guarantee will not apply.

VERY IMPORTANT

  •  Keep the appliance 50 cm away from any objects (curtains, walls, aerosols, etc.)
  •  NEVER ALLOW WATER TO PENETRATE THE APPLIANCE.
  •  Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.
  •  Before operating, please ensure that:
    •  The appliance is placed on a stable and firm surface
    •  The appliance is in a normal operating position (in an upright position on its feet).
  • Your appliance does not have a disengaging system. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE ROTATION MANUALLY.

VOLTAGE

  •  Before using the appliance for the first time, ensure that your mains voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the appliance.
  •  Your appliance can be used with a power plug without an earth connection. It is a class II appliance (double insulation ).

OPERATION

The ” B” “C” and “D” buttons described below are only operational once the appliance has been turned on and can be used simultaneously (see page 2).

  • “C” button, oscillation control:
    •  Press the “C” button once, the fan oscillates horizontally.
    •  To stop the oscillation function, press the “C” button again.
  • “D” button, set automatic appliance shutdown: You have 3 choices, 1-, 2- or 4-hour operating time.
    •  Press the “D” button once; the 1-hour timer is activated and the 1h indicator comes on.
    •  Press the “D” button a second time; the 2-hour timer is activated and the 2h indicator comes on.
    •  Press the “D” button a third time; the 4-hour timer is activated and the 4h indicator comes on.

  • “B” button, select REDUCTION mode or VARIATION mode:Rowenta VU9050 Artik Crystal Table Tower Fan 3
  • Pre-select the start-up speed according to your needs (see table above),then select REDUCTION mode or VARIATION mode (using method described below):
    •  Press the “B” button once; “VARIATION” mode is activated and the “VARIATION” indicator comes on.
    •  Press the “B” button again; “REDUCTION” mode is activated and the “REDUCTION” indicator comes on.

  • “A” button:
    •  Press the “A” button once; the appliance starts up at speed 1 and indicator comes on.
    •  Press the “A” button a second time; the appliance changes to speed 2 and indicator comes on.
    •  Press the “A” button a third time, the appliance changes to speed 3 and indicator comes on.
    •  If you press the “A” button again, the appliance changes back to speed 1 and indicator comes on.
  • “E” button ON/OFF: immediate appliance start or stop.

IMPORTANT:
It is recommended that you unplug your appliance whenever it is not in use.

CLEANING

  •  Your appliance must be unplugged before proceeding with any cleaning work.
  •  You can clean it with a slightly damp cloth.
  •   IMPORTANT : Never use abrasive products which might damage the appearance of your appliance.

STORAGE

When you are not using your appliance, store it in a dry place.

IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEMS

  •  Never dismantle your appliance yourself, this will negate any guarantee. A poorly repaired appliance may be dangerous for the user.
  •  If the appliance ceases to operate or is damaged in any way, contact one of our authorised service centres.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION FIRST!
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it a local civic waste collection point.

SAFETY POINTS FOR REWIREABLE/MOULDED PLUG
The main lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS1363A plug. If your socket outlet is not suitable for the plug, then the plug must be removed (cut off if it is a moulded plug), the flexible cord insulation should be stripped back as appropriate and a suitable 3 pin plug fitted.

Warning : Dispose of a plug that has been cut from the power supply cord, as such a plug is hazardous if inserted in a live 13A socket outlet elsewhere in the house. Should the fuse need to be replaced an ASTA marked fuse, approved to BS1362, of the same rating must be used. Always replace the fuse cover after fitting a fuse. The plug must NOT be used if the cover is omitted or lost until a replacement is obtained – make certain that only the correct fuse cover is used and fitted. For plugs with a detachable fuse cover the replacement must be the same as the colour insert in the base of the plug, or as directed by the embossed wording on the base of the plug. If the detachable fuse cover is lost a replacement may be purchased from the Rowenta Service Centre (see enclosed Service Information leaflet). Information for supply may also be obtained from the plug manufacturer.

WIRING INSTRUCTIONS (FOR U.K. ONLY).
Important: the wires in this lead are coloured in accordance with the following codes Blue, Neutral, Brown, live. Please read the instructions given below before connecting the cord to  a plug. If in doubt, please consult a qualified electrician. As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

  •  the wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter ” N ” or coloured BLACK.
  •  the wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with  the letter ” L ” or coloured RED.\

Neither core is to be connected to the earth terminal of a three-pin plug. This appliance requires a 3 fuse ASTA approved to BS 1362.

Rowenta (UK)Limited has a network of Service Agents throughout the country; to telephone your nearest Rowenta Service Centre see enclosed Service Information leaflet; these Service Agents carry out in-guarantee repairs (free of charge) and out-of-guarantee repairs (chargeable) on behalf of Rowenta. Should service be required, or the appliance appear faulty, consult your local Rowenta Service Agent in the first instance. If a product develops a fault during the guarantee period, it is the reponsibility of the consumer to supply to the Service Agent proof of the date of purchase of the appliance (eg. completed guarantee card and/or receipt showing the date of purchase).

Details of the Rowenta guarantee are shown on the Guarantee Card enclosed with the appliance. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights. Should further information be required please see the enclosed Service Information leaflet.
