SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Ensure that the voltage indicated on the appliance rating label corresponds to the voltage in the mains.

  2. The appliance is designed exclusively for private, domestic use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not suitable for commercial use.

  3. The appliance is suitable for preparing Greek coffee and hot water only.

  4. To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or any other liquid.

  5. Place the appliance on a dry and flat surface. Do not place the appliance on or near flammable materials (curtains, carpets, etc.), radiators, ovens or other heat sources.

  6. Use the appliance only with its original base.

  7. Always remove the pot from its base in order to add water.

  8. Do not switch on the appliance without water inside the pot.

  9. CAUTION: The outer surface of the appliance develops high temperatures during operation. Do not touch the outside of the appliance during use. Use the pot by holding it only by the handle. Allow the appliance to cool down before storage.

  10. CAUTION: During or after use, steam may escape from the nozzle.

  11. CAUTION: Do not touch the appliance during operation.

  12. WARNING: Do not move the appliance during operation.

  13. WARNING: Do not fill in the pot over the indicated max point (max 400ml). Otherwise the water may overflow and cause burns! Risk of burns!

  14. Never use the appliance if the base or the heating element are wet. Unplug it and do not operate the unit until it is completely dry.

  15. The appliance must always be switched off before plugging in or unplugging.

  16. Before cleaning, storing and adding / removing components, switch off the appliance and unplug it.

  17. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

  18. Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always unplug the appliance.

  19. CAUTION: Take special care when using the appliance in places where there are children, the disabled or people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities.

  20. Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.

  21. Do not let children play with the appliance.

  22. In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.
    WARNING: Do not allow children to play with the foil. Danger of suffocation!

  23. Children are not allowed to use the appliance.

  24. Unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.

  25. Do not attempt to repair the appliance by yourself. Contact a qualified technician.

  26. Periodically check the cable for damage.
    WARNING: Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord. In order to avoid the risk of an electric shock, never try to repair the appliance by yourself. Bring it to the authorized service station for repair. Use only the original spare parts.
    CAUTION: Risk of electric shock or fire!

  27. Do not disassemble the appliance.

  29. Do not let the power cord hanging off the edge of a table or bench, or come into contact with hot surfaces.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.

  2. Remove all packing materials and keep them away from children.

  3. After unpacking the appliance, check for possible damage. In the event of a fault or visible problem, do not use the device and contact the store where you purchased it.

  4. It is recommended that you clean the appliance as described in the “CLEANING” section.

  5. Ensure that the voltage indicated on the appliance rating label corresponds to the voltage in the mains.

  6. Make sure that the appliance only plugs into a properly grounded and properly installed socket.

  7. Place the appliance on a dry and flat surface and away from flammable objects. Always keep out of the reach of children.

  8. Fill the pot with clean water (max 400ml).

  9. Place the pot on its base.
    NOTE: The appliance will not turn on if the kettle is not inserted correctly.

  10. Switch on the appliance by pressing the power switch. You will hear an activation sound, the power light will turn red, and the water will start to heat up.

  11. As soon as the water boils, the appliance will switch off automatically, the operation light will turn white and an audible alarm will sound.

  12. Drain the water and rinse the pot carefully, avoiding contact with the outer housing.

  13. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
    NOTE: Do not use the appliance to prepare hot milk or other liquids! The appliance is intended only to prepare Greek coffee and hot water.

HOW TO USE

PREPARING GREEK COFFEE

  1. You can prepare up to six cups of coffee (max. 400ml). Put water in the pot, depending on how many cups you want to make (max.400ml).

  2. Then add coffee and sugar to the pot.

  3. Mix the coffee and sugar well inside the pot.

  4. Place the pot on the base.

  5. Switch on the appliance by pressing the power key. An activation sound will be heard and the operation light will illuminate in red.

  6. When the coffee is ready (the operating time varies from 1 minute to 5 minutes depending on the quantity), the appliance will turn off automatically, the operation light will turn white and an audible alarm will sound.

  7. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.

  8. Remove the pot from the appliance by holding it by the handle and serve the coffee in cups.
    NOTE:

    • For better results, mix the coffee well in the water before placing it in its base and start the operation of the appliance.
    • For better results, during operation, you can remove the pot from the base by holding it by the handle in order to stir the coffee. Put the pot in place to continue its operation. The repositioning must be done within 6 minutes, otherwise you will have to start the process from the beginning.
    • For delicious coffee, remove the pot from the base of the coffee pot without delay.
    • If you want to stop the operation of the appliance for any reason, press the on/off button.

PREPARING HOT WATER

Prepare quickly, easily and economically hot water to make tea, instant coffee or any other beverage.

  1. Place water in the pot according to your needs (max.400ml).
  2. Switch on the appliance by pressing the on/ off button. You will hear an activation sound, the power light will turn red and the water will start to heat up.
  3. As soon as the water boils, the appliance switches off automatically, the operation light will turn white and an audible alarm will sound.
  4. Pour the hot water into the cup to prepare your beverage avoiding the outer housing coming into contact with water.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

To extend the life of the appliance, clean and desalinate the pot frequently. The frequency of desalination depends on the hardness of the water and the frequency with which the appliance is used.

  1. Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning or assembling and wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.
  2. Do not immerse the appliance in water or spill water directly on it as this could result in electric shock or fire.
  3. Do not use wire brushes or other sharp objects.
  4. Do not use acidic or abrasive detergents.
  5. Clean the housing with a slightly damp cloth without detergent. Do not clean the outer housing with any abrasive or wire sponge as this will damage the finishing.
  6. Boil water for cleaning purpose. Do not use this water for consumption. Rinse the water tank with clean water and then dry it with a cloth.
  7. If the pot is too dirty inside, use some mild detergent and rinse thoroughly, taking care not to wet the outside part of the appliance.
  8. Unplug the appliance after each use and clean the overflow sensor of any coffee grounds. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth in order to clean it with gentle movements.

DESCALING THE POT

  1. Fill the pot with water up to two-quarters and boil water.
  2. Switch off the pot, then add white vinegar up to three-quarters and leave it in the pot overnight.
  3. Empty the pot and rinse the inside thoroughly.
  4. Fill the pot (max 400ml) with clean water and boil the water.
  5. Empty the pot and rinse it with clean water again.

CAUTION:

  • The appliance and its parts are not dishwasher safe!
  • Do not consume this water!

STORAGE

  1. Always unplug the power cord before storing the appliance.
  2. Make sure the appliance is cold and dry before storage.
  3. Always store the appliance away from children.
  4. Always store the appliance in a safe and clean place. For the best protection of the appliance, store it in its original packaging.
