SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Make sure the voltage in your outlet is the same as the voltage indicated on the appliance’s rating label.
2. For household use only.
3.  Do not touch the hot plates while operating. Use the handle.
4.  To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or any other liquid.
5.  Supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
6.  Unplug when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
7.  Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord. In order to avoid the risk of an electric shock, never try to repair the appliance yourself. Bring it to the authorized service station for repair.
8.  Do not use outdoors.
9.  Not intended for professional use.
10.  Do not leave the power cord hanging off the edge of a table or a counter, or in contact with hot surfaces.
11. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or heated oven.
12. Not to be operated with an external timer or separate remote-control system.
13. Unplug the unit when not in use.

BEFORE FIRST USE

1.  Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
2. remove all packaging. Keep away from children.
3. Clean the grill plates by wiping a sponge or cloth dampened in warm water. Do not immerse the unit in liquid and do not let water run directly on the cooking surfaces.
4. Dry with a cloth or paper towel.
5. For best results, lightly coat the grill plates with some cooking oil or butter before use.
   NOTICE : When your contact grill is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal

PREPARING YOUR CONTACT GRILL

1. Select the side of the plates (grill plates or griddle plates) you want to use, and make sure you place them right.
2. Close the Contact grill and plug it to the outlet. Press the power switch. The red light will turn on, indicating that the appliance has been powered on. At this time, you can choose the right Thermostat Knob to set the temperature according to your desired setting: “MIN” for light baking and “MAX” for well-baked food. At first, set in the middle. The ready-to-cook light indicators will turn on green, indicating that the contact grill has started preheating. After that, you can adjust the temperature lower or higher according to your preference, or the kind of food you want to cook.
3. This product has two different temperature controls, one for each grill plate. If you want to use the appliance as a contact grill it is usually needed to set both lower and upper thermostat knob. If you want to use it as an open grill, you can choose between single-sided or double-sided grill plates, depending on the amount of food you want to cook.
4. The time needed to reach baking temperature is approximately 3-5 minutes. When green ready-to-cook light indicator turns on, the contact grill is ready to use.

NOTE : Plug in the unit with the power switch off. Press the power switch to turn the appliance on (light turns red).

COOKING

USE AS A CONTACT GRILL

1. Use the contact grill either with the grill plates or with the griddle plates according to the food you want to cook and to your preferences.
2. For better results use grill plates for meat and vegetables and gridle plates for sandwiches, breads and quesadillas.
3. Set the contact grill Temperature Control to your desired setting. At first set it at max. After a while you can adjust it according to your preferences and the kind of food you want to cook.
4.  Prepare food and place it on the bottom grill plate.
5.  Close the top upper grill plate and press down on the food.
6.  When the food is ready, use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food with the help of a plastic spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can cause damage to the non-stick coating of the cook plates.
7.  Use the Contact grill to cook burgers, boneless pieces of meat and thin cuts of meat, vegetables and sandwiches..
8. Use the Grill-Toaster as a contact grill , when you want to cook something in a short amount of time or as a healthy method of grilling. Food is cooked quickly when it is grilled on both sides at the same time. The ribs on the grill plates combined with the grease spout at the corner of the plate allow the grease to drip from the meat and drain off the plates.

USING THE EXTENDABLE FEET
If you want a more effective way of getting rid of the extra fat, you can open the extendable feet at the bottom.

GRILLING PLATE SUPPORT FUNCTION
Slide the lift lever, to achieve the desired distance between the upper and lower plate.

TO USE AS OPEN GRILL

1. Place contact grill on a clean and flat surface.
2. Upper plate/cover and lower plate/base should be on the same level so that they create one large grilling surface.
3. To set the contact grill in the 180 ° open position, push and hold the 180 ° button. While keeping the button pushed in, hold the handle and open the upper part by 180 ° . The appliance will stay in this position until you lift the cover and close it.
4. Use the contact grill opened 180 ° to cook burgers, steak, poultry, fish and vegetables.
5. The open grill gives you the option to cook different types of foods separately without mixing their flavors, or to cook large amounts of the same type of food. The open position is also useful for different cuts of meat with varying thicknesses, allowing you to cook each piece according to your taste.

NOTICE : After you are done cooking, please turn the temperature knobs at Min and press the power switch to position OFF. Then disconnect the plug from the socket

REMOVAL OF GRILL PLATES

1. Always unplug the contact grill and let it cool off before removing grill plates.
2. Open the contact grill or adjust it to flat position.
3. In front of the unit there are two release buttons.
4. Push first the upper release button and the plate will pop up slightly from the base. Hold the plate with your hands and slide it out from underneath the metal brackets. Act the same way in order to remove the other grill plate.

STANDING UPRIGHT THE APPLIANCE
By sliding the lift lever, the hook on it is caught in the lower point. At this position the appliance is locked in the standing upright position.

CLEANING AND CARE

1. Always unplug the contact grill and let it cool off before cleaning. The unit is easier to clean when it is slightly warm. Before you unplug the appliance make sure that the power switch is off (0). There is no need to disassemble Contact Grill for cleaning. Never immerse the contact grill in water or place in dishwasher.
2. The grill plates can be cleaned in water or dishwasher.
3.  Wipe cooking plates with a soft cloth to remove any food residue. Pour some warm water over the food residue and clean with a non-abrasive plastic scouring pad or a wet towel.
4.  Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-stick coating.
5.  Do not use metal utensils to remove food, as they can damage the non-stick surface.
6.  Wipe the body of the sandwich toaster with a damp cloth only. Do not clean the body with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as they will damage the finish. Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

STORAGE

1. Always unplug the contact grill before storing.
2.  Always make sure the contact grill is cool and dry before storing.
3.  The power cord can be wrapped around the bottom of base for storing.
