Pre-installation
Before using the device, familiarise yourself with the following:

What’s in the box:
Set up your device
- Unpack your MinION Mk1C*
- Attach a networked Ethernet cable (required for set up)
- Connect the power supply
- Press the power button
- Place device on a stable surface. Do not cover ventilation grilles. MinION Mk1C is designed to sequence at ambient temperatures of 10–30⁰C.
Log in
Enter your Oxford Nanopore account details to log in to the device
Tip: View the pop-up tutorials to learn how to navigate the user interface
Perform hardware check
A hardware check is required before performing your first MinION Mk1C sequencing run. To initiate the hardware check, see the workflow below or follow the on-screen tutorials. For troubleshooting, refer to the User Manual.
Power off the device
- Select Host settings in the side panel, then click the Shutdown button
- In the pop-up box, select Shutdown. The touchscreen will turn black and the power button LED will turn off
