DESCRIPTION
The UNiKA MTX-8800 is an easy-to-use 8-in/8-out (4 pairs stereo)line input /zone distribution mixer. It features a power-on indicator and 8 XLR balanced inputs and 8 XLR balanced outputs. 4 pairs of stereo outputs incorporate further ch1-8 level controls and pan controls. This feature allows the MTX-8800 to function as either an 8 x mono inputs / 4 x stereo outputs unit or any combination of the two. The MTX-8800 line input/zone distribution mixer is made in sturdy, 2U rack space, and rack-mounted design.
FRONT PANEL
- Power on/off: Press this button to turn the MTX-8800 on and off.
- Power LED: The power indicator lights up when the MTX-8800 is powered on.
- Level Control: For adjusting the input level at the respective stereo output at the rear panel. Turn the control clockwise beyond the detent position to increase the level up to 12dB.
- PAN Control: Positions the input signal between the left and right output of the respective zone. In mid-positon the signal level is equal at both outputs.
REAR PANEL
- Input Section: XLR inputs (balanced) for connecting audio units with line-level outputs.
- Output Section: There are total ZONE 1 ~ 4, each zone disposes of a stereo output (2xXLR, balanced) for left and right. The PAN control directs the signal to the respective output.
- Outputs STEREO A for PA Zone 1
- Outputs STEREO B for PA Zone 2
- Outputs STEREO C for PA Zone 3
- Outputs STEREO D for PA Zone 4
- Voltage Selector: Make sure this switch is properly set.

- Press the power switch to turn on the unit, the power indicator on the front panel lights up, then turn on the other connected devices. Your PA amplifier should always be the last item to turn on.
- Adjust the desired volume ratio with the level controls.
- Determine the balance of the input signal between the left and right outputs.
- Turn off the unit via the power switch after the operation.
Stereo outputs or mono outputs 1-8 The signal of CH1 routed to each pair of stereo outputs. To add signal from the CH2 input to the STEREO A outputs, use the level controls in the same zone (STEREO A / OUT 1-2) in the second row CH2. Create stereo mixes with the LEVEL and PAN controls on the front panel of the MTX-8800. Each row on the front panel (e.g. CH1) corresponds to one input. Each zone on the front panel (e.g. STEREO A / OUT 1-2) corresponds to a pair of stereo outputs. Use the LEVEL control to add signal to each pair of stereo outputs. Use the PAN control to balance the signal between the left and right outputs.
APPLICATION EXAMPLES
The MTX-8800 extends the capabilities of a standard mixing console by
providing 8 additional auxiliary sends, use it to create stereo or mono mixes
for a variety of applications, e.g. for personal and loudspeaker monitoring,
multitrack recording and monitoring, stereo effect sends, zone mixing and
matrix mixing.
Personal Monitoring & Loudspeaker Monitoring
Monitoring
The MTX-8800 gives you the possibility to create personal mixes for vocalists
or instrumentalists for live and studio applications without having to
reconfigure the existing setup of a mixing console.
Loudspeaker monitoring
Mixing consoles often do not provide enough dedicated outputs for monitoring
applications. Even if each performer has its own speaker cabinet, he does not
get his own mix. With the MTX-8800 you can provide those individual mixes for
each band member, regardless how different each mix needs to be.
Multitrack Monitoring & Multitrack Recording
Multitrack monitoring
Use the MTX-8800 input connectors to insert it between the 8 outputs of a
multitrack recorder or a soundcard and the line inputs of another mixing
console. You can mix the outputs to 4 individual stereo cue mixes without
interrupting the signal flow of the mixing console.
Multitrack recording
You can also insert the MTX-8800 into the insert paths of a mixing console.
