Thank you for purchasing the Entel remote speaker microphone. This user guide will explain the features of your submersible speaker microphone. With care, this product should provide years of trouble-free use.
FITTING
Use the revolving clip to attach the speaker microphone to a pocket or collar. The clip may be rotated into one of eight locking positions to aid attachment. Insert the plug into the transceiver’s accessory connector and fasten it securely. Always disconnect your speaker microphone with care as undue force may damage it.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Press the PTT button to transmit and release to receive.
- When transmitting, talk slowly and clearly, holding the microphone about 5cm away from your mouth.
- Care should be taken when holding the speaker to your ear as high volumes are possible.
- Should you expose the speaker microphone to any potentially corrosive substance, including saltwater, it is recommended that you rinse the unit in freshwater. After washing, please vigorously shake the unit to dispel water from the speaker grill.
- If you detach this accessory from the radio, take care to protect the accessory connector by re-fitting the original accessory cover.
To attach an earpiece (‘E’ suffix versions only):
- Remove the earpiece socket rubber bung
- Carefully plug the earpiece into the socket
- Ensure the volume of the radio is set low before placing the earpiece on the ear, then adjust the volume to suit.
To remove an earpiece:
- Carefully pull the earpiece plug out of the socket (do not pull by the wire)
- Re-insert the rubber bung
IMPORTANT
Always switch the radio off before attaching an audio accessory. Models that are certified to ATEX, IECEx, and SGS UL913 have been clearly labeled. Should, in the course of use, any labels be removed or become illegible please return the accessory to Entel for relabelling.
