Safety & Environment

In case of oil and fuel leakage, or in polluted or dirty waters, clean or recuperate the waste in a manner appropriate to the local environment. Excessive noise and exhaust emissions should be avoided. Particular care should be used in the disposal of residues, e.g. of paint, paint removing substances or other cleansing agents. It is the responsibility of the boat’s operator to know all laws applicable to boats and to comply with those laws when equipping and operating the boat. Rules and regulations may vary depending on the following conditions: the location of the boat’s operation and the requirements of local authorities; the use of the boat, the particular time of the day during which the boat is being used, the conditions under which the boat is being operated, and the size, speed, course, kind of boat (power, oarS, etc.) and mode of operation.

In addition to knowing and following the applicable laws, please note the following

• Each passenger should wear the appropriate clothing and wear an approved life jacket.
• Ensure that all basic equipment is on board the boat, including paddles /oars and an inflation pump. Be aware of the possible necessity of additional safety equipment
• A boat should not be operated by an individual under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Weight must be distributed evenly. If your motor-equipped boat is lightly loaded, do not accelerate suddenly.
• Stability and handling problems can occur if the operator mishandles the craft
• The carrying capacity. engine capacity and maximum weight must not be exceeded.
• Outboard motors are dangerous and can cause injury and death when improperly operated. Never equip or operate your boat with a motor that is not approved for use with the boat. Never approach at speed a swimmer in the water or allow a swimmer to approach the stern of the boat while the engine is running.
• Due attention should be given to winds and tides, which can change and therefore affect fuel consumption.
• When boating in unknown waters, it is always a wise precaution to obtain local knowledge before setting out.
• Always tell someone your time and place of departure, your proposed route, and the time you expect to return.
• The display of navigation lights may be required. The user should ensure that the boat should not be operated during darkness or other hazardous weather conditions unless the correct navigational lighting has been fitted and is operating properly.
• Safety courses on boat handling are available in most areas from national and local organizations. Operators should acquaint themselves with the general rules of the waterways and the local water conditions before taking a boat out. On extended voyages, due consideration must be given to safety equipment such as flares, first aid kits, anchors, etc.

Cleaning, Care, and Storage Instructions

Rinse your boat with clean fresh water, when possible, after each use. At the end of each season, wash it with soapy water, we recommend a dish soap like Dawn. Rinse, and let dry before rolling up the boat for storage. Store your boat inside the bags in a dry place Important: Do not use a vinyl preserving agent on fabric surfaces. Chemicals in such agents will dry out the fabric.

Repair Instructions

We do not include adhesive with our repair kit. Be sure to purchase PVC boat adhesive to complete your repair kit. Follow the repair instructions on the adhesive packaging or look for better instructions online via YouTube, or contact us at alex@takacatna.com For larger repairs, please take your boat to a local inflatable boat service center.

Assembly Instructions

Unfold and layout the boat hull tubes.

Locate the inflator valve at the rear of the hulls and inflate to3 psi with the included hand pump or optional electric pump.

From the rear, insert the lower transom bar into the lower set of tubes on the boat hulls. The stainless tab should be facing up when installed properly. The black flaps should wrap over the lower bar and velcro back to itself. Apply a mixture of dish soap and water to make inserting the bar easier.

Assembly Instructions Cont

From the front, insert the upper transom bar intO the upper set of tubes on the boat. The stainless tab should be facing down when installed properly. Use a mixture of dish soap and water to make inserting the bar easier.

Slot the smaller motor mountboard inside the Tube Transom.

Creating a sandwich, assemble the rest of the transom. The bolt passes from the rear to the front with the rubber washer between the wooden motor mount boards. Proper sandwich order below: Bolt | SS Washer | Back Board | Rubber Washer | Front Board | SS Washer | Hand Nut Front of Boat Tighten firmly by the hand, no tools required!

Unroll the inflatable floor and insert it into its position. There is no need to get it perfectly under each hull tube, but the rear of the floor should be flush with the Lower Transom Bar.

Insert D-Rings, on the bottom of the air deck floor, through the slots in the boat floor fabric layer. Lash the two D-Rings together with the included webbing strap.

Inflate the floor to 10 psi. While inflating be sure to pause and walk on the floor to push it into place. Don’t forget to activate the check valve by pressing down on the center pin and turning it 1/4 turn in either direction, If it is popped up, it won’t let any air escape.

Inflate the Inflatable Seat. The seat can be inflated to a pressure that is most comfortable. The seat is designed for comfortable rowing, and can also be used as a throwable floatation device.

Assemble each oar and install. Be sure to attach a retaining nut to prevent losing 0ars when in use.

If you opted for the Quick Release Beach Wheels, install them now in the down position. When in the down position, the wheels provide enough height to mount a 15″ short shaft outboard in the upright position. Note: Wheels are side specific, make sure to mount them with tires facing inward when in the down position to prevent friction damage to the boat hulls.

If you opted for the Quick Release Rod Holders, install them now into the Upper Transom Bar. After launching your boat into the water, check the pressure in the hulls to verify you still have 3 psi hull air pressure. If the water is cooler than the surrounding air temperature the air inside the hulls will condense causing a pressure drop. Use the manual pump to reinflate to 3 psi hull air pressure.

Boat Operation

• Motoring
• WARNING: DO NOT OVERPOWER AND EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF THE MOTOR! Overpowering can result in severe handling and stability problems with serious consequences. USE A SAFETY LANYARD. This switch will stop the engine if, for any reason, the operator pulls the cord. When the boat is being powered, passengers should hold onto the lifeline in order to avoid falling overboard. When operating the motor-powered boat, sit on one of the hulls. Rapid acceleration should be avoided to prevent falling overboard backward. Regular checks should be made on motor attachment screws. Loose screws will cause erratic boat operation and possibly the OSs or your outboard motor! Onboard, check that the loads are not chafing or puncturing the boat skin.
• Rowing
• Inflatable boats are equipped with oars and oarlocks. Ensure the seat is properly inflated and installed. Install oars in oarlock pins, and attach oarlock pin cap screws. NOTE: DO NOT use oars as levers: they could break! Local water conditions must be taken into account before operating the boat with oars or a small outboard motor. Boat power may not be strong enough to overcome currents in tidal inlets, small channels, or shoals.
• Towing, Anchoring, and Mooring
• The inflatable MUST BE EMPTY when it is towed by another boat. The towing line should be rigged to a bridle between the two bow D-Rings. The inflatable must be under constant supervision when it is being towed. Anchoring and mooring lines should be secured to the same bridle mentioned above. Beaching
• Beaching
• It is not recommended to use an engine when beaching as this could cause severe damage to your outboard. Do not drag the boat across rocks, or sand. gravel or on the pavement as damage to the boat skin may result. If the boat is to be temporarily left on a beach, part of the boat should be left in the water so that the internal heat caused by exposure to sunlight can escape and so that air pressure in the tubes can decrease. Cover the boat with a UV Protective Boat Cover to block direct exposure to sunlight if the boat is to be stored in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.

Warranty

You must register your Takacat online at www.takacatna.com/pages/warranty- registration/ Simply fill out the fields and you are all set PVC & Hypalon fabrics are warranted for three (3) years against defects and deterioration that affect usability in the form of aging, cracking or delamination. Air filling pipe seams are warranted for three (3) years against defects and deterioration that affect usability in the form of aging, cracking, or delamination.

Air deck floors (New 1mm PVC anti-skid protective layer). Material and seams are warranted for three (3) years against defects and deterioration that affect usability in the form of aging, cracking, or delamination. Air deck floors (Plain or EVA layer). Material and seams are warranted for three (3) years against defects and deterioration that affect usability such as aging, cracking, or delamination. Parts and equipment including carrying handle, D-ring, seat, and oars, will be free from defects in material and structure for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. Under no circumstances will Takacat North America be responsible for incidental or consequential damages in connection with the use of a Takacat inflatable. Limited liability claims relating in any way to the sale or use of Takacats, parts, and or accessories must not, in any case, exceed the purchase price of the product to such a claim relates. This warranty is not transferable and proof of purchase must be supplied at the time of claim.
The following are not covered by or may void the warranty: Use of power greater than max HP at HIN plate; overloading:
misuse; abuse or neglect, including but not limited to: improper docking, towing., driving, packing, transport, or storage.
Rental or commercial usage.

• Collision, improper transportation, punctures, tears, abrasions, theft, fire, etc.
• Changes and modifications to the original product.
• Damage, Such as corrosion of metal parts due to lack of maintenance, or premature wear due to improper assembly or disassembly.
• Purchase a demo or used boat.
• Consequential damages.

Racing.

Takata North America or its authorized representative will repair, or at its option, replace any of the shortcomings described above under the respective warranty periods. In the event of a claim, you must report the defect in writing or by email to Takacat North America, including the model number, hull identification number, vendor name, and a receipt with the date of purchase, your contact details, and information about what the error or defect is. Pictures of the affected area are also needed to assess the course of action. One of our representatives will contact you to make arrangements that cause as little inconvenience to you as possible.
