INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

SYMBOLS IN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage to the appliance:

GENERAL NOTES

  1. The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
  2. Check that the voltage shown on the device label corresponds to the voltage in the mains.
  3. Do not use the device outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  4. Do not place the appliance on or near an electric burner or a heated oven or a hot gas stove.
  5. When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug, not the cable).
  6. If the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  7. Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always unplug the device.
  8. Regularly check the device and cable for signs of damage. Do not continue to operate the device in case of damage.
  9. In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the foil. Danger of suffocation!

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Do not touch moving parts. Always wait until such parts have come to a complete stop.
  2. Spoons, dough scrapers or similar objects must not be in the container during operation. Risk of injury!
  3. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains, before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
  4. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before removing, attaching or changing accessories.
  5. In order to avoid splashing, always insert the blender fully into the tank before you switch the appliance on.
  6. Do not operate the hand blender for more than 1 minute! Let it cool down, before using it again.
  7. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  8. This appliance is not to be used by children. Keep the appliance and the connecting cable away from children.
  9. Do not repair the device by yourself. Please contact qualified personnel. In order to avoid hazards, a damaged mains cable must be replaced with an equivalent cable by a qualified specialist.
  10. To protect again electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or any other liquid.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Read all the instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
  2. Remove the appliance from its packaging. Keep away from children.
  3. Before using the appliance for the first time, check that the voltage shown on the device label corresponds to the voltage in the mains.
  4. Hold motor housing firm and detach the blender from motor housing by rotating it.
  5. Clean the motor housing with a sponge or a cloth dampened in warm water.
  6. Clean blender with warm water and washing up liquid.
  7. Place the hand blender on an even surface at a safe distance away from flammable objects. Keep out of the reach of children.

NOTE:
A slight smell may be noticeable when the hand mixer is used for the first time. This is normal and will disappear after a short while.

ASSEMBLY/ DISASSEMBLY

When attaching accessories there is the risk of pinching your fingers. Please be especially careful.

  1. Attach the motor housing (6) on the blender (8) by observing the recesses on the blender.
  2. Rotate the motor housing rotate in a clockwise direction until it “clicks” into position. Motor casing and blender should be tightly connected.
  3. Rotate the blender anticlockwise in order to disconnect it from motor housing. Remove the blender.

USING THE APPLIANCE

  1. Connect the hand blender to a properly installed and grounded outlet.

  2. Insert the blender into the food or beverage that you want to mash.
    NOTE: Chop up large pieces of solid food before mashing and add a little liquid.

  3. Submerge the entire blender head in foodstuff or beverage. Keep the appliance upright. In this way you avoid spatters.

  4. Hold the appliance with one hand in such way that you can press one of the power buttons (I or II).

  5. Set the desired speed mode by pushing the power button (I or II). At speed level I, you can adjust the speed control using the rotary speed control switch (3) by raising the speed at a constant rate, starting from the lowest speed to the highest. If speed level II is selected, the speed control is preselected (maximum speed) and is not controlled by the rotary speed control switch. The speed level II is used to operate at maximum speed for a short time only.
    WARNING:
    The power button II should not be used for more than 1 minute. Leave the device to cooldown for at least 5 minutes before using again.

  6. The device switches itself off when the button is released.

  7. Always turn the device off before removing it from the tank.

WARNING:

  • When you switch the appliance off, always wait until the blades comes to a complete standstill.
  • When using the appliance in hot foods, there is a risk of burning due to hot splashing.
  • The bottom of the used container may not have bumps or dents that may damage the appliance.

CLEANING

  1. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
  2. Clean the motor housing with a cloth dampened in warm water.
  3. Disconnect the blender from motor housing and clean it with warm water and washing up liquid.
  4. The appliance should not be immersed in water for cleaning.
  5. Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive utensils for cleaning.

STORAGE

  1. Always unplug the appliance before storing it.
  2. Always make sure that the hand blender is cool and dry before storing it.
  3. Always store the appliance out of the reach of children.
