HOME MASTER RuPreCan RO Sediment Filter Installation Guide
Installation Instructions
Insert tube Push up to tube stop
Push the tube into the fitting, to the tube stop. The collet (gripper) has
stainless steel teeth which hold the tube firmly in position while the ‘0’
ring provides a permanent leak proof seal.
Pull to check secure
Pull on the tube to check that it is secure. It is a good practice to test the
system prior to leaving site and or before use.
Push in collet and remove tube
‘to disconnect, ensure the system is depressurized before removing the tube.
Push in collet squarely against face of fitting. With the collet held in this
position, the tube can be removed.
-
Clear away a workspace under the sink near the location of the Home Master RO System.
-
Turn off the water feeding the Home Master RO, by closing the EZ adapter ball valve located on the water line, or by closing angle-stop feed water valve clockwise. If present, the angle-stop will be located on the wall under the kitchen sink in close proximity to the Home Master RO. Either method will work. For ULTRA and Hydro Perfection disconnect power adapter.
-
Close the reserve tank valve located on top of the reserve tank. When closed the handle will be perpendicular to the water tube.
-
Depressurize the system. Flip up the handle on the RO faucet so that it locks into open position, and dispenses water until it no longer flows. If you have successfully shut off the water this should occur within a few seconds. If water continues to flow, repeat steps 2 & 3. The system is now depressurized; leave the RO faucet handle in the open position.
-
Identify a location for mounting the RuPreCan using included bracket – ideally on the same wall of RO system. Secure mounting bracket to wall using the 4 self-tapping screws. Then, connect the unit to installed bracket using remaining 4 flat head screw.
IMPORTANT: do not over tighten system to the bracket; if screw heads are flush with the bracket, the unit has been sufficiently tightened. -
Carefully release the sediment filter from the mounting clips.
Disconnect the two tubes (orange supply, black 2nd stage) from existing sediment filter – discard filter. The RuPreCan will now function as the sediment filter for your RO system. Disconnect black tube routed between the inlet port of 2nd stage carbon or iron filter, and the outlet port of the sediment filter – discard black tubing. The supplied orange tubing will replace this line.
NOTE: Keeping lines elevated will minimize backwashing – use towel for any leaks. -
Reconnect the orange water supply tube into the inlet of the RuPreCan – push in firmly, gently pull back on the tube to create a positive seal See Fig. A&B.
-
Connect one end of the 36″ orange tubing to the inlet of 2nd stage carbon or iron filter, connect opposing end to the outlet port of RuPreCan – push in firmly, gently pulling back on the tubes to create a positive seal.
-
Dry the unit. SLOWLY open the feed water EZ adapter ball valve. You should hear water traveling through the system and RuPreCan. A trickle of water should be present at RO faucet after 2-20 minutes. Close the lever on the RO faucet after the trickle runs clear, and allow the system to pressurize. When the system has pressurized and shuts off automatically, dry unit thoroughly again, gently tug on each connection and check for leaks.
-
SLOWLY open the reserve tank valve and allow the tank to fill completely.
