VENICE
3 SPEED TURNTABLE
With USB/SD Card Encoding

Read this instruction manual carefully before use and keep for future reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO CONNECT OR OPERATE THE APPLIANCE.
  2. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN GOOD CONDITION. HEED ALL WARNINGS. FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
  3. SAVE THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
  4. THE UNIT SHALL NOT BE EXPOSED TO DRIPPING OR SPLASHING AND NO OBJECTS FILLED WITH LIQUIDS, SUCH AS VASES, SHALL BE PLACED ON THE PRODUCT. DRY LOCATION USE ONLY.
  5. NO NAKED FLAME SOURCE, SUCH AS CANDLES, SHOULD BE PLACED NEAR THE PRODUCT.
  6. CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED TO ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT PLAY WITH THE APPLIANCE.
  7. VENTILATION SHOULD NOT BE IMPEDED BY COVERING THE VENTILATION OPENINGS.
  8. MAKE SURE THAT THE UNIT IS PLUGGED INTO AN POWER OUTLET WITH SUITABLE POWER RATING. USING HIGHER VOLTAGE MAY CAUSE THE UNIT TO MALFUNCTION. TURN OFF THE UNIT BEFORE UNPLUGGING IT FROM A POWER SOURCE TO COMPLETELY SWITCH IT OFF.
  9. DO NOT PLUG/ UNPLUG THE POWER PLUG INTO/FROM AN ELECTRICAL OUTLET WITH WET HANDS.
  10. IF THE POWER PLUG DOES NOT FIT INTO YOUR OUTLET, DO NOT FORCE.
  11. ONLY USE ACCESSORIES WHICH ARE SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
  12. USE REPLACEMENT PARTS WHICH ARE SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
  13. INSTALL THE UNIT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS.
  14. PLACE THE UNIT WHERE THERE IS GOOD VENTILATION. PLACE THE SYSTEM ON A FLAT, HARD AND STABLE SURFACE. DO NOT EXPOSE TO TEMPERATURES ABOVE 40°C. PRESS BUTTONS GENTLY. PRESSING THEM TOO HARD CAN DAMAGE THE UNIT.
  15. ALWAYS ENSURE THAT THE PRODUCT IS UNPLUGGED FROM THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE MOVING OR CLEANING. CLEAN IT WITH DRY CLOTH ONLY.
  16. UNPLUG THE PRODUCT DURING LIGHTNING, STORMS, OR WHEN IT WILL NOT BE USED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME.
  17. THIS PRODUCT HAS NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS PRODUCT YOURSELF. ONLY QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL SHOULD PERFORM SERVICING. TAKE THE PRODUCT TO THE ELECTRONICS REPAIR SHOP OF YOUR CHOICE FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR.
  18. NEVER LET ANYONE, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN, PUSH ANYTHING INTO HOLES, SLOTS, OR ANY OTHER OPENINGS IN THE UNIT’S CASING AS THIS COULD RESULT IN A FATAL ELECTRIC SHOCK.

Power Supply

Plug the AC power cord to a household outlet. Ensure that the output power of the outlet matches the power requirement as indicated on the unit’s rating label.

Switching the Unit On & Off

  1. Power the unit as described above.
  2. To turn the unit on, turn the Power/ Volume knob clockwise.
  3. To turn the unit off, turn the Power/ Volume knob counter-clockwise to “OFF” position.

Volume Control

  • To increase the volume, turn the Power/ Volume knob clockwise.
  • To decrease the volume, turn the Power/ Volume knob counter-clockwise.

Record Player

  1. Place the record on the turntable. If required, also place the adaptor on the record spindle.
  2. Choose the desired playing speed using the speed selection switch between 33.3, 45, and 78rpm.
  3. Turn on the Rotary Power Switch, note that this also controls volume.
  4. Release the tone arm lock.
  5. Raise the arm with your hand lightly.
  6. Place the stylus vertically over the first track of the record, the turntable will start turning automatically.
  7. Lower the stylus slowly onto the record to play.
  8. When a record comes to the end, the turntable will stop automatically if the auto-stop switch is in the ON position. If the switch is in the off position then it will keep revolving until the tonearm is returned to the tonearm rest.
  9. Lift up the tonearm and put it on the rest when finished. 10. Replace the protective cap on the stylus and close the tone arm lock. 11. Turn off the power at mains.

Important

  1. Raise and lower the tone arm always using the cue lever.
  2. Do not turn or stop the turntable manually.
  3. Moving or jarring the turntable without securing the tone arm clamp could result in damage to the tonearm.
  4. Before playing, the needle and record should be cleaned properly to avoid premature wear. – Gently swipe the needle with a cleaning brush back to front. – With a special record cloth carefully wipe the record.
  5. Before playing make sure that the needle is still in good condition, as it is prone to natural wear and tear during use. Used or splintered needles need to be replaced as they can cause damage to the record while playing. Only replace with original needles.

NOTE:
a. – remove the stylus protector.
b. – be sure that the tonearm is detached from the tonearm rest before operating and re-secured again afterward.

Record care and maintenance

To ensure the best sound and the least amount of wear on your records, it’s essential that they are kept clean. Make sure your records, especially older ones are sufficiently cleaned prior to playing them thoroughly clean dust off the stylus, and record regularly. Use a soft brush to clean the stylus. Brush from the base to the tip as shown below.

For records with only light amounts of dust, we recommend brushing them off with a carbon fibre brush or velvet pad before playing them. Use a good quality record cleaner and brush set to keep your records clean. Carbon fibre brushes, velvet pads, and record cleaning kits are available online or in local record stores.

USB/SD Playback

  1. Turn the volume knob in a clockwise direction to switch on the turntable.
  2. Insert the USB/SD card into the correct slot.
  3. Use the function selector to select USB/SD mode.
  4. Wait for 6-10 seconds. Once the unit reads the total tracks, it will auto-play them.
  5. Press “Mode” button to convert the USB/SD Tracks. (default for U-disc play)
  6. Press “Play/PAUSE” to Pause, press again to play.
  7. Press “PREV” to play previous track.
  8. Press “NEXT” to play next track.
  9. Keep pressing “PREV” for 3 seconds to decrease the playback volume of source-disc.
  10. Keep pressing “NEXT” to increase the volume.

USB / SD card Encoding

  1. Simply insert the USB stick / SD card into the USB jack / SD card slot.
  2. Press “REC” button to start recording the record while the record is playing.

Notes:

  • A USB device must always be connected directly to the USB port of this product. The use of a USB extension cord is not supported by this product. The USB port of this product cannot communicate with a computer directly.
  • The reading time for a USB drive varies depending on the speed of the memory device and the number of songs and folders. In some cases the reading time may be as long as 60 seconds.
  • Always switch off the unit before removing a USB flash drive to prevent damage to your USB device. The manufacturer is not responsible for the loss or damage of data.
    Due to numerous methods of compression it could be that some files or USB flash drives cannot be played.

Bluetooth
The Bluetooth function let you stream music from your smartphone, tablet or any other Bluetooth enabled device through the speakers.

  1. To use the Bluetooth feature, first switch the unit into BT mode by pressing the Mode button.
  2. Go to your device’s Bluetooth settings and search for VENICE.
  3. Once your device shows VENICE, connect and pair it. You can now enjoy music from your device through the speakers of VENICE.
  4. Use the volume control of the appliance as well as your paired device to set the desired volume.
  5. All playback functions can be managed through the Bluetooth device’s controls.

Notes:

  • Bluetooth works best within a range of up to 8 to 10 metres. Distance varies depending on different Bluetooth devices and local conditions (e.g. walls, metallic casing that covers the device, or other devices nearby that operate in the same frequency).
  • The appliance can be connected only to one Bluetooth device at a time.
  • If the connected device goes out of Bluetooth range, the appliance will reconnect automatically when the device comes back into range.
  • When switched back to Bluetooth mode, the appliance automatically starts reconnecting with last paired device, if available.

Line Out

This music system provides a Line Out (L/R) connector on which you can connect external speakers (Line out cable is not included).

Troubleshooting

If you have a problem, please check the following chart to see if you can fix it before consulting a service provider. Do not open the unit as there is risk of electric shock, under no circumstances should you try to repair the product yourself as this will invalidate the guarantee.
