Laser Safety
Read the following safety instructions before attempting to operate this product. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.
WARNING! SAVE ALL WARNINGS & INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Read and understand all instructions.
- Use the tool only with the specifically designated batteries.
- Store the tool out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Laser tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
- Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Repairs, services,s or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel will void the warranty. Only approved and authorized service technicians can carry out warranty repairs.
- Do not use optical tools such as a telescope or transit to view the laser beam. Serious eye injury could result.
- Do not place the tool in a position that may cause anyone to intentionally or unintentionally stare into the laser beam. Serious eye injury could result.
- Do not position the tool near a reflective surface which may reflect the laser beam toward anyone’s eyes. Serious eye injury could result.
- Do not use the tool at a position where the laser beam can cross any person at head height.
- Do not let children come in contact with the tool.
- Turn the tool off when it is not in use. Leaving the tool on increases the risk of staring into the laser beam.
- Do not operate the tool around children or allow children to operate the tool. Serious eye injury may result.
- Do not remove or deface warning labels.

There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Disassembling the tool will void
all warranties on the product. Do not modify the tool in any way.
Modifying the tool may result in hazardous laser radiation exposure.

- Never look into the laser beam directly and intentionally.

POWER SUPPLY
- The instrument is supplied with two 1.5v AAA alkaline batteries.
To replace batteries, remove the battery door at the back of the device.
Place batteries according to polarity and replace the battery door.
OPERATION
On/off
- Press the red button to turn the laser distance measure on.
- Press and hold the off/clear button for 3 seconds to turn the unit off.
The device will shut off automatically after 150 seconds without use.
Unit setting
- The unit default setting is 0.000m. To reset the current unit of measurement press and hold the reference point/unit of measurement button.
- Press and hold the reference point/unit of measurement button to cycle through the unit of measurement options.

Reference point setting
- To cycle between the benchmark reference points press the reference point/unit of measurement button.
There are two reference points: top (fig.1) and bottom (fig.2).

MEASUREMENT
Single measurement (Fig.3)

Press the read button. The laser will be emitted.
-
Re-press the red button for single distance measurement.
Results will be displayed on the main measurement display. -
The previous three measurements will also be displayed above the main measurement display.
Continuous measurement (Fig.4)
- Press and hold the red button. Minimum and maximum results will be displayed on the display screen.
- Press the red button or off/clear button to exit continuous measurement.

Area measurement (Fig.5)

Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button.
A rectangle will appear on the display screen. -
Press the red button to measure the first edge (width).

Press the red button to measure the second edge (length).
-
The area will be calculated automatically with results shown on the display screen.

Press the off/clear button to clear the measurement.

Volume measurement (Fig.6)

Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button twice.
A cube will appear on the display screen. -
Press the red button to measure the first edge (height).

Press the red button to measure the second edge (length).

Press the red button to measure the third edge (width).

The volume will be calculated automatically with the results shown on the display screen.

Press the off/clear button to clear the measurement.

Pythagoras measurement
-
To calculate the unilateral distance of a triangle Pythagorean mode can be used. When taking measurements of the triangle, ensure the length of the right side is shorter than the length of the hypotenuse.
If not, the instrument will display an error signal. -
To ensure the accuracy of measurement, take measurements from the same starting point of the first-order hypotenuse. Then follow with the measurement of the right side. Please follow the instructions according to the method required. (See Figs.5-8 determine the appropriate method).

Calculate the side of a right-angle triangle (Fig.7)
Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button three times to enter Pythagorean mode. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen as follows:
• Press the red button to measure the length (a) of the hypotenuse.
• Press the red button to measure the length (b) of the rectangular side.
• Length (x) will be calculated automatically with results shown on the display screen. FIGURE 7 -
Calculate the hypotenuse of a right-angle triangle (Fig.8)
Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button five times to enter Pythagorean mode. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen as follows:
• Press the read button to measure the length (a) of the rectangular side.
• Press the read button to measure the length (b) of the next rectangular side.
• Length (x) of the hypotenuse will be calculated automatically with results shown on the display screen. FIGURE 8 -
Calculate the partial length of a right-angle triangle (Fig.9)
Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button seven times to enter
Pythagorean mode. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen as follows:
• Press the red button to measure the length (a) of the hypotenuse.
• Press the red button to measure the length (b) of the second hypotenuse.
• Press the red button to measure the length (c) of the rectangular side.
• Length (x) of the vertical side will be calculated automatically with results shown on the display screen.

- Calculate the third side of a triangle (Fig.10)
Press the area/volume / Pythagoras button six times to enter Pythagorean mode. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen as follows:
• Press the red button to measure the length (a).
• Press the red button to measure the length (b).
• Press the red button to measure the length (c).
• Length (x) of the vertical side will be calculated automatically with results shown on the display screen.
ADDING AND SUBTRACTING A SINGLE MEASUREMENT
Addition
- Take the first reading by pressing the red button.
- Press the addition / subtraction / speaker volume button.
- A “+” symbol will appear on the display screen.
- Take the second reading by pressing the red button.
The values will be added automatically with the results shown on the display screen.
Subtraction
- Take the first reading by pressing the red button.
- Press the subtraction/speaker volume button.
- A “-” symbol will appear on the display screen.
- Take the second reading by pressing the red button. The values will be subtracted automatically with the results shown on the display screen.
- Press the off / clear button to exit addition or subtraction mode.
To clear the previous measurement, press the off/clear button.
ADDING AND SUBTRACTING AREA MEASUREMENT

Take the area measurement as described in the Area Measurement section (Pg.8).

Press the addition or subtraction/speaker volume button.
Press once for addition, or once for subtraction.
A “+” or “-” symbol will appear on the display screen. -
Take the second area measurement as described in the Area Measurement section (Pg.8).

Press the red button to calculate the result. The values will be calculated automatically with the results shown on the display screen.

ADDING AND SUBTRACTING VOLUME MEASUREMENT

Take the volume measurement as described in the Volume Measurement section (Pg.9).

Press the addition / subtraction / speaker volume button.
Press once for addition, and twice for subtraction.
A “+” or “-” symbol will appear on the display screen. -
Take the second volume measurement as described in the Volume Measurement section (Pg.9).
-
Press the red button. The values will be calculated automatically with the results shown on the display screen.
Storage & Browsing
Save a reading
- Press and hold the data storage button for three seconds.
The data will automatically be stored in the memory of the unit.
View storage
- To view stored measurements, press the data storage button.
Press the addition or subtraction/speaker volume buttons to browse through the data.
Remove records
- To remove a record, press the power off / clear button.
To remove all stored data, press and hold the power off / clear button.
Sound on/off
- Press and hold the subtraction/speaker volume button to turn the sound off. Press and hold the subtraction/speaker volume button to turn the sound on.
Care & Maintenance

Inaccurate measurement results may occur in harsh environments such as strong sunlight, excessive temperature fluctuations, weak reflective surfaces, or low battery.

Whenever possible, store the instrument in a cool, dry place.
Do not store in high temperatures or strong humidity for long periods of time. -
Store in the carry pouch supplied in a cool, dry place.
-
Remove the batteries before storing the device for long periods of time without use.
-
To remove dust, clean the instrument with a damp, soft cloth.
Trouble Shooting

Measure within the measurement range.
ERR1| The signal is too weak
Measure target locations that have stronger reflecting surfaces.
ERR2| The signal is too strong
Measure target locations that have weaker reflecting surfaces.
ERR3| Low battery
Charge or replace batteries.
ERR4| Beyond working temperature
Use the device within the specified temperature range.
ERR5| Improper measurement in Pythagorean mode
Re-measure and ensure the correct Pythagorean method is used. Please refer to
Pgs.10-13

This tool comes with a standard 3-year warranty. Extend the warranty of your

Our warranty provides the correction of deficiencies to the tool once verified by an authorized service center that the deficiencies were caused by a manufacturing fault within the warranty period.

The warranty period is 3 years from the date of purchase.

The warranty does not cover:
a) Calibrations and components that are subject to wear and tear.
b) Defects in the tool caused by non-compliance with the operation instructions, improper use, abnormal environmental conditions, inappropriate operating conditions, or insufficient maintenance.
c) Defects caused by using accessories or spare parts other than approved parts.
d) Services or repairs carried out by non-authorized persons. -
Defects recognized by an authorized service center as being covered by the warranty shall be corrected either by repair or replacement of the tool.

The warranty claim must be lodged within the warranty period.
This requires the complete tool with the original sales receipt containing the purchase date and place of purchase. Partial or disassembled tools cannot be submitted for a warranty claim. -
Services provided under warranty do not lengthen or renew the warranty of the tool.

Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure
and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
