Introduction

Focal’s Elegia closed-back circumoral headphones are designed for audiophiles. These headphones are the perfect choice for extended listening sessions because to their ergonomic design, which also provides great sound isolation. The Focal R&D team has continued its headphone research program by introducing a number of new improvements, all of which are focused on providing exceptional audio performance. The headband by Elegia conforms well to the head thanks to its expert design, offering the best grip for usage when travelling. The yoke, which also properly conforms to the wearer’s facial shape, and the 20mm memory foam microfiber earpads are both major factors in the headphones’ exceptional comfort. In addition to being quite attractive, Elegia is finished off perfectly with noble materials like leather, solid aluminum, and microfiber.

The electrodynamic transducers in Elegia are part of a new generation that offer significant elongation, the core of very dynamic sound, and a linear, extended frequency response of 23 kHz. Even at the lowest frequencies and loudest levels, the shape of the innovative, half-roll NBR surround provides a lightweight moving portion that is always under control. Extremely accurate sound reproduction is present. Additionally, hearing is made fantastic by the “M”-shaped inverted dome and its greater emissive surface. A speaker driver becomes particularly sensitive to its surroundings when it is loaded into a “small room.”

Due to the 40 years of experience and knowledge of our engineers, specific work was done on the vents to avoid limiting the frequency response in the low-range and effectively manage the air flow. There is no resonance with Elegia to interfere with the listening experience. Additionally, the closed earpads complete the impressive soundproofing.

FAQs

  • Does focus produce high-quality headphones?
The Focal Stellia is the best headphone I’ve ever heard, presenting deep bass, clear mids, and sparkling highs in an extremely well-balanced presentation with excellent clarity, great soundstage, and imaging. Even better, I joyfully wore it for extended periods of time since it was so comfy.

  • How much is Focal Elegia worth?
The Focal Elegia are superior headphones for critical listening. They are the closed-back version of the Focal Elear, which has a similar design. Thanks to a metal frame and a detachable cable, these high-end headphones are exceptionally comfortable for extended listening sessions and have a remarkable build quality.

  • Focal headphones are balanced, right?
Focal has created the case for this remarkable product as part of its ongoing pursuit of excellence by including two cables, a meticulously finished sturdy carrying case, and a 10-foot (3-meter) balanced cable with a 4-point XLR connector.

  • Is Focal Clear a cozy product?
The Clear is nearly as comfy as the HD 6XX from Sennheiser, if not more so in some areas, despite being almost twice as heavy. The Clear’s open-back design and perforated ear pads (which are very expensive to replace) presumably help the Clear breathe well.

  • What distinguishes focal clear from professional focal clear?
The primary distinction between normal Clear and the Professional version is in the cosmetics and bundled accessories. While the Clear Pro comes with an additional set of ear pads, which will be far more practical for most people, the Clear comes with an additional balanced 4-pin XLR cord.

  • Is it simple to drive a Focal Clear?
The Clear, like the majority of Focal headphones, have a relatively high sensitivity of 104db at 1mW and are quite simple to operate at 55 ohms.

  • A high-fidelity speaker is what?
The high-quality reproduction of sound is known as high fidelity (commonly abbreviated as Hi-Fi or HiFi). For audiophiles and home audio lovers, it is significant. A flat (neutral, uncolored) frequency response and inaudible noise and distortion are ideal characteristics of high-fidelity equipment.

  • What sound is the main one?
Focal makes an effort to accurately recreate the soundscape of a recorded or live performance. Each instrument must be able to be placed exactly where it will sound during the recording or concert on this live soundstage.

  • What distinguishes balanced from unbalanced headphones?
The only difference between balanced and unbalanced headphones is the connector at the end of the cord. Simply re-cable the headphones with a new connection plug to make unbalanced headphones balanced.

  • What use do balanced headphones serve?
One or two extra connectors are available on the plug for balanced headphones. The left and right headphone drivers will no longer need to use the same return connection as a result. This allows for complete electrical separation between the left and right circuits.
